Saint_Ash Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 So spartak have a game today at 3, let's see if he's in the team.
The Fat Controller Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 Could this be another Les Reed “ Get your hopes up day Toby Alderweireld to sign...... Ronald Koeman to stay....... Really hope we take this player on board if not buy Giroud
Colinjb Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 Anyone care for a 'Time of Promes' unveiling' sweepstake? I'm going for 9am tomorrow.....
saints1988 Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 So spartak have a game today at 3, let's see if he's in the team. If he is then its David Dunn
Alain Perrin Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 Anyone care for a 'Time of Promes' unveiling' sweepstake? I'm going for 9am tomorrow..... You lose. 7.15pm pre-kickoff surprise. The added benefit of such a timing is the knuckle-draggers on here will be foaming at the mouth - whilst busily adding the final touches to their Les Reed effigies with one hand, researching the cost of Megabus tickets to Sheffield for next season with another and probably stroking one out with the other.
Master Bates Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 Deals stuck between off/on by the looks of it.
Faz Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 Deals stuck between off/on by the looks of it. Insightful
austsaint Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 Deals stuck between off/on by the looks of it. Nothing much for the neutral then!
Saint Pete Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 Deal off, according to SSN.There's a surprise. Ok, let's get on with plan b then (assuming there is one). Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
St.Patrik Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 At least Saints have offered the correct fee - but to late for Moscow to find a replacement. FFS why wait until the last day to get this sorted then - Ahhhhhhhhhh
Saint Garrett Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 At least Saints have offered the correct fee - but to late for Moscow to find a replacement. FFS why wait until the last day to get this sorted then - Ahhhhhhhhhh No idea why this is a sticking point given he’s got a release clause. If we want him, surely we just meet that. £5m additional is cheap compared to the price of relegation... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
angelman Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 At least Saints have offered the correct fee - but to late for Moscow to find a replacement. FFS why wait until the last day to get this sorted then - Ahhhhhhhhhh Maybe because the Russian transfer window runs from 23rd January to 22nd February.
Saints foreva Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 There's a surprise. Ok, let's get on with plan b then (assuming there is one). Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk There won't be. Well done Saints for leaving it so late.
doddisalegend Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 Deal off, according to SSN. If true I guess we weren't prepared to meet the release clause then. Seems like a whiler load of effort if we weren't prepared to pay the ask price.
MOSaint Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 If the player has a release clause and the club have really offered the "correct fee" which I would take to mean the release clause, then surely Spartan not finding a replacement would be irrelevant.
SuperSAINT Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 Deal off, according to SSN. Confident & relaxed....
hypochondriac Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 You have to laugh if true. Classic saints. My prediction from earlier about an inferior player will come true in my opinion.
S-Clarke Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 To be fair, Spartak have got more time as their window closes in Feb. So I don't buy that reasoning Sky have put out.
davefizzy14 Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 Hoping this isn't true. I thought they were signing Sofiane Hanni as a replacement. Still think we will get it done as player clearly wants to come to us.
Sheaf Saint Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 To be fair, Spartak have got more time as their window closes in Feb. So I don't buy that reasoning Sky have put out. But doesn't that also depend on the deadline day for the country that any incoming signing comes from? I mean, they can't buy a player from the PL in Feb as our window has shut by then.

But only if they find a suitable replacement. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

S-Clarke Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 But doesn't that also depend on the deadline day for the country that any incoming signing comes from? I mean, they can't buy a player from the PL in Feb as our window has shut by then. They could still buy a PL player after our deadline. Sure it's been done before. That's why I don't buy that reasoning.

Sheaf Saint Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 This could just be a negotiating tactic from Spartak though. We've met the asking price they initially set, but maybe now they are just trying to see if they can squeeze any more out of us.
Donatello Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 As far as I'm concerned the club should just be paying the extra €5m if necessary. They put themselves in this position by not arranging deals of their own before selling VVD....you can't have your cake and eat it (under those circumstances).
simo Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 Still in negotiations according to crook, terms with player agreed
benjii Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 Still in negotiations according to crook, terms with player agreed He knows **** all.

This may be news to some, but we can't just arrange deals on our own. There normally has to be a willing party on the other side of the table, who as a player we want, at a price we can afford.
SuperSAINT Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 Still in negotiations according to crook, terms with player agreed It's off then. Gutted.
Shance Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 We’ve offered what they want and Promes wants the move. If it falls through you really can’t blame Saints. I’m still confident it will go through.

Disco Stu Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 Get plan B sorted immediately! If this falls through we need to bring someone else in.
Ashby Saint Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11700/11230295/southamptons-quincy-promes-deal-unlikely-with-spartak-moscow-struggling-to-find-replacement If it is a f**king release clause then I do not see why they can prevent him from leaving!

SKD Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 We’ve offered what they want and Promes wants the move. If it falls through you really can’t blame Saints. I’m still confident it will go through. Why leave it so late and not give them enough time to replace? This could have been sorted the first week of January or at the very least as soon as the Theo deal looked dead. For me this comes down to us trying to drive a hard bargain (we ended up paying what they wanted anyway), where the cost of surival is worth a great deal more to the club. If we end this window with only the one player, that will be another monumental **** up bu the board in transfer windows.

ErwinK1961 Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 You can if they've run out of time to get a replacement. If they were that bothered about a replacement, they could have got something lined up when this was first discussed with them.
SaintRichmond Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 Deal off, according to SSN. Someone showed him the latest League Table Who in their right mind would want to come ??
SKD Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 Still a long time to go, a lot can happen in a short space of time.
stevy777_x Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11700/11230295/southamptons-quincy-promes-deal-unlikely-with-spartak-moscow-struggling-to-find-replacement That is utter BS. Lazy journalism. Russian transfer is open till the 24th of Feb, ample time to get a replacement. If a deal is unlikely, it must be for other reasons https://www.transfermarkt.com/transfer-statistik/transferfenster/statistik/stat/plus/0?art=w&kontinent_id=6&option=0
Suhari Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11700/11230295/southamptons-quincy-promes-deal-unlikely-with-spartak-moscow-struggling-to-find-replacement Can't we send them Redmond? He's the best in the Prem, 1 on 1. Ask Pep.
Dellman Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 Pep's speciasl skill proven over the years is bringing the best out of his players and my guess is that if Redmond played under Pep his real ability would would surface and he would be a match winner. Our system has done the opposite to him and to other playerts, no wonder people want to leave.
Disco Stu Posted 31 January, 2018 Posted 31 January, 2018 Redmond could help the team for once in his life and f*** off to Russia.
