S-Clarke Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 What happens when you lose to a Championship side Interesting to see who they get in next. *L2 side!
Saint-Fred Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 What happens when you lose to a Championship side Interesting to see who they get in next. Aren't they League 1 or 2?
Saint-Fred Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 I like Coventry, I am glad for there supporters today after the crap they have had in the last 10 years.
DT Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 If Koeman goes there be very afraid. If ONeill just cry Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
aintforever Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 Another club acts decisively whilst we sleepwalk into the Championship.
shurlock Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 Another club acts decisively whilst we sleepwalk into the Championship. Are we bottlejobs?
James Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 Funny thing is they’ve won more games than us. Clueless Les Bumble’s on.
Colinjb Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 Hughes could do a job for us? I reckon. Just personal opinion, would prefer him to our current f*cktard.
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 I could see Koeman going there. And yes, Hughes would be a better choice than MP. That said, it looks like the board have decided to stick by MP no matter what, which is very worrying.
Stud mark of doom Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 I could see Koeman going there. And yes, Hughes would be a better choice than MP. That said, it looks like the board have decided to stick by MP no matter what, which is very worrying. But previously, the only reason I could possibly see for not acting was that there wasn’t anyone we could get in who would clearly be better - now there is. In my opinion, he’d be miles better.
Stud mark of doom Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 How can our fans want Hughes!! Mainly down to the current chap being nailed on to take us down.
Suhari Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 How can our fans want Hughes!! He's better than the idiot we've currently got!
Saint-Fred Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 Hughes will be our next manager, just a feeling. Perhaps that was the ITK comment about needing to wait a week...perhaps we knew Hughes was getting the sack! Lol
Colinjb Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 He's better than the idiot we've currently got! But, knowing our methods we'll get Julio Gamblio from Portuguese division zwei.
OldNick Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 He's better than the idiot we've currently got! but is he? I don't think he has been successful anywhere
Saint Albert Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 but is he? I don't think he has been successful anywhere He has four and a half years at Stoke, with three successive years in ninth place. He’s not my first choice, but he’s better than Pellegrino.

DT Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 It didn’t work last time Hughes was here... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Brave Sir Robin Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 Interesting to see who they get in next. Pellegrino hopefully
CB Fry Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 but is he? I don't think he has been successful anywhereWales, Blackburn, Fulham, Stoke before this season, didn't do that bad at a rapidly changing Man City. Only QPR was an all out failure.
Marching Halos Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 i think hughes would be perfect for us right now, if les cant get anyone better in the summer then give him next season. he would probably be the best manager we could get playing in the championship aswell.
Faz Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 Just a heads up; there’s no way we’ll appoint Hughes unde4 any circumstances
Colinjb Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 Just a heads up; there’s no way we’ll appoint Hughes unde4 any circumstances Probably not. But, such are the times we live in.
Pamplemousse Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 Mark Hughes is another failed manager. Did dreadful at QPR and he was lucky Stoke were patient with him.
CB Fry Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 Mark Hughes is another failed manager. Did dreadful at QPR and he was lucky Stoke were patient with him.Bit harsh. Has taken three clubs into the top 8 of the Premier League, took Blackburn to sixth and Stoke to 9th three times, earning that patience. Probably outstayed his welcome there. Plus very good job at Wales. He's failed at one club, QPR.
Cartman Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 Just a heads up; there’s no way we’ll appoint Hughes unde4 any circumstances And rightly so. Another in a long line of failed british "the manager is the most important person at the club, coaching players and doing the job I am paid to do is beneath me and should be left to my assistants, what I really want is to have the power to fire the tea lady if she serves my tea at the wrong temperature, do we even have a tea lady anymore? It's all them foreigns' fault, what with them coming here and being better and actually doing coaching themselves" types. Hell will freeze over before we appoint someone like him.
Hamilton Saint Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 It didn’t work last time Hughes was here... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Precisely. He was hopeless. 2 goals in 52 appearances. A worse scoring record than Shane Long!
qwertyell Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 Precisely. He was hopeless. 2 goals in 52 appearances. A worse scoring record than Shane Long! To be fair, he mostly played in midfield by that point in his career. Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk
Hamilton Saint Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 To be fair, he mostly played in midfield by that point in his career. Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk Well, he was signed originally to back up striker David Hirst, who got injured frequently. He was moved to the midfield because of his apparent inability to put the ball in the net.
LeBizzier69 Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 Didn't David Hirst trip over something in training and was then out for months? Sorry, off topic I know.
Badger Posted 6 January, 2018 Posted 6 January, 2018 Precisely. He was hopeless. 2 goals in 52 appearances. A worse scoring record than Shane Long! Always struck me that Hughes was happy to be on the Saints payroll but seldom committed on the pitch. Rumour at the time was that he, Palmer & one other (either Hurst or Ripley) who had come to us as the 'Big I Am's..' were responsible for a rift in the dressing room and poor morale for much of his first season with us. Would not want Hughes back at Saints.
hypochondriac Posted 7 January, 2018 Posted 7 January, 2018 I'd have Hughes over our manager. I feel slightly envious that they have got rid and have a chance to save their season.
scotty Posted 7 January, 2018 Posted 7 January, 2018 I don't want it to happen. But we all know that it's going to.
Saint Billy Posted 7 January, 2018 Posted 7 January, 2018 Not keen on him coming here st all. Just got sacked for sending Stoke into a nosedive and yet some on here would take him on in the hope he would do the exact opposite here, crazy!.
skintsaint Posted 7 January, 2018 Posted 7 January, 2018 Another club acts decisively whilst we sleepwalk into the Championship. Not really, Stoke been poor for a long time, he should have gone a while back. More decisive than us though...which isn't hard to achieve.
Faz Posted 7 January, 2018 Posted 7 January, 2018 Not really, Stoke been poor for a long time, he should have gone a while back. More decisive than us though...which isn't hard to achieve. Who says we haven’t been decisive? It might not be the decisive you want.

beatlesaint Posted 7 January, 2018 Posted 7 January, 2018 Don’t like him, wouldn’t want him but he’s done well or ok everywhere except QPR.....and we are only a small club remember so he would be a real catch for Ralph and Les.
Dalek2003 Posted 7 January, 2018 Posted 7 January, 2018 Didn't David Hirst trip over something in training and was then out for months? Sorry, off topic I know. I think he fell down a rabbit hole after running across the New Forest.
SuperSAINT Posted 7 January, 2018 Posted 7 January, 2018 Just had a look on Sky Bet to see who's in the running currently: Martin O'Neill 10/11 Gary Rowett 6/1 Ryan Giggs 6/1 Slaven Bilic 12/1 Aitor Karanka 16/1 Garry Monk 16/1 Nigel Pearson 16/1 Ronald Koeman 16/1 Michael O'Neill 18/1 Steve McClaren 18/1 Roberto Mancini 20/1 Sean Dyche 20/1 Lee Johnson 22/1 Brendan Rodgers 25/1 Chris Hughton 25/1 Claudio Ranieri 25/1 Gordon Strachan 25/1 Steve Bruce 25/1 Andre Villas-Boas 28/1 Frank de Boer 28/1 Harry Redknapp 28/1 Marcelo Bielsa 28/1 Roy Keane 28/1 Chris Wilder 33/1 David Wagner 33/1 Eddie Howe 33/1 Graham Potter 33/1 Jurgen Klinsmann 33/1 Rafael Benitez 33/1 Slavisa Jokanovic 33/1 Louis Van Gaal 40/1 Tony Pulis 40/1 Rory Delap
saintquin Posted 7 January, 2018 Posted 7 January, 2018 Swapping MP for Hughes. Jumping out of the pan into the pan!
