St Chalet Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Will take that. Much better attitude and if we play like that every week we will be ok. COYR
Heisenberg Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Decent all over today. Hojberg motm for me. 1st clean sheet in 11?
Whitey Grandad Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Clean sheet. Luvverly jubbly [emoji41]
whelk Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Scholes you dumb fck - ‘slowest back 4 you’ll ever see’ . Yoshida ain’t slow
NewYorkSaint Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 wow. not just the result. a really impressive performance. playing so coolly out of defense all game. Long's chance prob best of the game. really great.
skintsaint Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Unexpected! Lets make sure we follow it up with a win next up! Off to bed drunk and happier! Look forward to Forster not playing next game either.
Saints foreva Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Better attitude, our players actually looked like they wanted to be out there. Unlucky not to get a goal.
Pamplemousse Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Defensively we played well. A better team going forward would have won that. However, you’d take a point away at Man Utd all day long. I’m sure someone will come along shortly to remind us how long ago since we last won in the league against a top 6 side
Saint86 Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Great point and a very good performance. Could probably have nicked it. Most importantly, the players played for the manager... and hopefully now that the VVD cancer has left the club we will see this continue. I know most disagree, but I think we have a good manager here and I hope he is given the chance (and the backing) to show it!
Mr X Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Good effort today too little too late though & I fear Pelligrino is here to stay! Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
Yorkshire Saint Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 1st clean sheet in 11. Well played Saints - something to build on in the new year hopefully.
badgerx16 Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Following on from Spurs that was a huge improvement, but if we don't beat Palace it will have been for nowt.
BotleySaint Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Great balance and workrate. Decent subs. No goal threat though.
beatlesaint Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Excellent point and a clean sheet. I presume the manager won’t drop McCarthy after this.......will he ?
Dalek2003 Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 How much of that was to having a different GK? The whole team looked up for it!
shurlock Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Good result, excellent performance. We were the better side.
vectraman Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Great, unexpected point Saints. Fab performance, but for a worldie save from de Gea, Long would have won it for us. Good stuff boys, there is hope
DRAGONZ_RULE Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 If someone can explain how Hojbjerg hasn't been an automatic starter every game this season, it would be good to hear. Best player on the pitch on either side - at Old Trafford, no less.
Jimmy_D Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Well done Saints, bloody good performance and gave us a chance of winning that.
Norm Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Not the win I forecasted but I’m more than happy with a point! Super result.
whelk Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 If they played with that commitment every week woudnt be the clamour for MP to go. Good game that. McCarthy looks massive upgrade on FF although couldn’t have hoped to be that quiet.
Dalek2003 Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Good effort today too little too late though & I fear Pelligrino is here to stay! Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk What do you mean? Yes we are in the thick of it, but we can fight our way out of this.
Greenridge Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 So so much better. Great performances all over the park. Another outstanding display from PEH.
Vancouver Saint Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Well, didn't see that very good performance coming. Shlong unlucky not to score. McCarthy made a difference - actually catching the ball, no rebounds, coming off his line and decent distribution - deserves a decent run now. Have been very critical of MP and one swallow doesn't make a summer - but that was a good all round performance and a 'bonus' point - even if Utd were below par.
Manuel Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Good 0-0 win. Especially nice as we didn't park the bus, came to play and had probably as many chances.
Badger Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Excellent point - would crainly have accepted that pre-kick off. Two things that stand out though, Utd might have been there for the taking as the game wore on, should we have been a little more adventurous by bringing Gabbiadini on sooner? Secondly, why has it taken so long to drop Forster? Must beat Palace though.
Saint Albert Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 A point was the least we deserved. I’m very happy with that performance. Hoj, Boufal, Long, Hoedt...all excellent MOM candidates for me.
S-Clarke Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 I love PEH. Should play every single week for me, the energy he gives the midfield is undeniable. JWP is a tactical managers dream, did his job to the t today - he's perfect in these big away games as he's reliable, not so much use in games we have to win though. Now let's add some extra attacking quality into this side to complement what is quite a competent midfield and back 4.
Mr X Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 What do you mean? Yes we are in the thick of it, but we can fight our way out of this.True at least there was effort today, but do you see MP as anywhere near good enough to be our long term manager? Best option stick with him, replace next season Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

bpsaint Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Play with that spirit every game and we’ll finish well clear of the bottom 3.
DT Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 He'd better not bring Forster and Redmond back in the side against Palace in the name of rotation. If he does he really should go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Seaford Saint Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 I couldn't stand it, I had to go out for a walk for the last 9 minutes.....great point gained..I can carry on drinking now.
stknowle Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Thought we were lucky tbh in terms of the chances they had and didn't take but don't want to be labelled a cnt so will just happily take the point and hope that our woes have all been down to the cancerous influence of Van Djik. In all seriousness there were some good performances out there - PEH, McQueen, Hoedt and McCarthy (who just basically did what you would expect a goalkeeper to do but that was enough to look so much better than our immobile first choice).
warsash saint Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Great balance and workrate. Decent subs. No goal threat though. Even though we had the 2 best chances ??!!

Charlie Wayman Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Brilliant performance from Tadic. Redmond will find it difficult to oust Boufal now. Hoj slowly getting there. Some very good play but oh! how we need a natural goalscorer. We will not stay up if we cannot score goals.
Toomer Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Could that performance been down to the VVD effect with him not being around the place for last few days.
Pilchards Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 A couple of decent players Walcott and Plea and we could of won that quite easily. Great to have a better keeper for us but I can't help think that we need to go out and buy another one as I will never trust Forster. Must get three points over Palace and that will save Pellegrino's arse.
austsaint Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 If someone can explain how Hojbjerg hasn't been an automatic starter every game this season, it would be good to hear. Best player on the pitch on either side - at Old Trafford, no less. One thing I hope the Manager has learned is that Hojbjerg and Boufal should be in Saint's best 11.
doddisalegend Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 If someone can explain how Hojbjerg hasn't been an automatic starter every game this season, it would be good to hear. Best player on the pitch on either side - at Old Trafford, no less. Because he was dog turd last season (and pre-season) it seems a great bit of man management by MoPe to stick him in the under u23s it seems to have given Hoj the kick up the arse he needed to start performing.
DT Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Yoshida spoke very well. Legend. Good bit of battling fills me with confidence Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 30 December, 2017 Posted 30 December, 2017 Finally put up a bit of a performance & with a bit more firepower could've nicked it. Was it me or did the defence seem more assured with McCarthy in goal? Has earned a run in the side for his clean handling & ability to claim crosses. With VVD all but gone, great time for Hoedt to put in a MOTM performance too.
