DT Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 ..what is the threshold for MP to be sacked? 4-0? 5? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Dalek2003 Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Surely the club isn't blind to this. Surely? There must be someone there who has an iota of empathy for the feelings of the fans? If not they deserve everything they get. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It's a business and will be made for business reasons. No room for sentiment. The days when football clubs had a real empathy for the fans are becoming few. Having said that, it is still true of the smaller clubs in the lower leagues and non league clubs and it is why some people now watch this level rather than the Premier league.
Saint_Tony Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Alan Smith on SSN regarding MP - 'we're still waiting to see what he's all about as a manager'. I think we already have, and we have seen enough. He needs to go after today, yet I'm sure this will be another narrow defeat to buy himself another game. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 ..what is the threshold for MP to be sacked? 4-0? 5? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk I think we'll play so defensive that we will only lose narrowly, but a loss is the only possible result that will occur. The squad and Manager used to have some ******** and we'd go away to the bigger teams and set-up defensively but show a bit more ambition when we had the ball. These days its not even a free hit against the big teams, its trying to keep the score down and its pathetic.
Wade Garrett Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 The manager will be happy with a 1-0 defeat. Just like he was against Chelsea.
hasper57saint Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 I'll be surprised if we score. The lack lustre dross this season hasn't exactly filled me with confidence.Crab football is not my way of attacking the opposition.I shall be happy to be proven wrong but a win sees a stay of execution for MP.
trousers Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 am hearing rumblings Virgil is actually going to Liverpool. Same source as 1 day ago or different source?
beatlesaint Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 FFS, Long and Redmond only for their pace presumably
InvictaSaint Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 FFS, Long and Redmond Well with 0 goals between them all season, that should solve our goal scoring problems....
Dusic Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 LOL, Shane Long over Gabbiadini. Long is absolutely woeful, has been for most of his career yet has got worse this last 18 months and still somehow gets starts. Shows the weakness of our squad, that whole selection apart from centre mid. Thats why we are where we are.
James Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Poor Gabbi. Can’t get a game ahead of a striker that hasn’t scored in almost a season’s worth of games and no surprise that Redmond starts yet again. Midfield looks a lot better than v Hudds though.
Wrensup Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Friggin Long so no goes today then. Going to be a long game today no pun intended!
trousers Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Decent enough midfield with Lemina, Hojbjerg and Romeu in the starting 11
Saint_Tony Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 who's playing RB? Long and the irreplaceable Redmond starting. Cant wait Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
shurlock Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 At least people got their wish and Hoj and Boufal start.
James Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Well with 0 goals between them all season, that should solve our goal scoring problems.... Unbelievable isn’t it? Does MP even look at this sort of stuff? Set up for a 1-0 defeat here.
Bridge Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 I wonder what team he will put out today...***** me this guy is so bizarre in his team selection and methods it begs belief!!! Please Please get rid of him today Christmas is over now!!!
austsaint Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Poor Gabbi. Can’t get a game ahead of a striker that hasn’t scored in almost a season’s worth of games and no surprise that Redmond starts yet again. Midfield looks a lot better than v Hudds though. Agree. Midfield looks good; but Long instead of Gabbiadini is pure Pellegrini nonsense.
Lord Duckhunter Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 He should play Gabbi today & Sat in games we haven’t got a hope of winning so he gets injured and misses the one we could win 2 days later. We have some genius supporters. Long makes perfect sense today, particularly as Gabbi has been nearly as woeful in front of goal this season anyway Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
beatlesaint Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 I wonder what Gabbiadini did that was so bad in the limited time he had against Huddersfield to have Long preffered to him ? Oh wait, he’ll be saving him for the Palace game won’t he :mcinnes:
austsaint Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 He should play Gabbi today & Sat in games we haven’t got a hope of winning so he gets injured and misses the one we could win 2 days later. We have some genius supporters. Long makes perfect sense today, particularly as Gabbi has been nearly as woeful in front of goal this season anyway Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Nonsense - Gabbiadini is a better striker than Long every day of the week. On what basis does Long make perfect sense. No goals, no control or touch - just gut running.
DT Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Redmond picked again. Words fail me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Saint_clark Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 For the love of god, let Redmond be playing on the right. He'll have a great game if he plays out there.
shurlock Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 He should play Gabbi today & Sat in games we haven’t got a hope of winning so he gets injured and misses the one we could win 2 days later. Long makes perfect sense today, particularly as Gabbi has been nearly as woeful in front of goal this season anyway Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk So he’s being rested now for two games, having not played regularly in weeks, so he doesn’t risk an injury ahead of the palace clash. Why don’t we rest all our starters? Tortured, pal. Tortured reasoning indeed.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 He should play Gabbi today & Sat in games we haven’t got a hope of winning so he gets injured and misses the one we could win 2 days later. Long makes perfect sense today, particularly as Gabbi has been nearly as woeful in front of goal this season anyway Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Yeah great argument and that but you’re assigning that there is any logic in the selection. I think MP has proved already this season that he doesn’t necessarily pick teams logically.
beatlesaint Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Redmond picked again. Words fail me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk yeah cos when you are playing a backs to the wall type game you really need one of your outlet players to start running with the ball before losing the bloody thing cheaply.
hypochondriac Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Does anyone seriously think a result is likely today? The saints board aren't stupid and must be feeling a similar way. Surely they can't let this go on for too much longer?
InvictaSaint Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Without wishing to frighten anybody, our starting 11 have the sum total of 3 goals between them all season. Let that sink in....
LGTL Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Without wishing to frighten anybody, our starting 11 have the sum total of 3 goals between them all season. Let that sink in.... #wemarchon

Lord Duckhunter Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Anybody who thinks Gabbi is up to playing today,Sat & then again on Tuesday is deluded. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Without wishing to frighten anybody, our starting 11 have the sum total of 3 goals between them all season. Let that sink in.... Of which our starting striker has none...
captainchris Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 LOL, Shane Long over Gabbiadini. Saint Benali Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 7 defensive players again. Set up to not lose rather than not win again. Can't see anything other than a defeat...again. Sadly I got a feeling this could be the game where we actually get proper stuffed. Spurs have pace but also some big physical bastards who will nullify Romeu and co. Plus players who given half a chance to strike will take it.
5string Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 It bothers me that MP brings back in-form players from the bench (eg. Hojbjerg) but then drops other 'best option' players (eg. VvD, Gabbiadini). It's like he's determined not to start with/play his best 11 at any time. Shouldn't you pick your best team all the time?
DT Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Could be six or seven today Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
James Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Anybody who thinks Gabbi is up to playing today,Sat & then again on Tuesday is deluded. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Ah, its the Shane Long fan club, right on cue.
Pamplemousse Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 I really hope Kane doesn’t score, just to shut up the media
badgerx16 Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Going all out for a nil nil !?At least for the first 35 minutes.
5string Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Think we can manage a shock win today? Or is the squad spirit not there? Would be nice if the players could raise their game.
Micky Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Could be six or seven today Sent from my iPad using TapatalkShane hasn't scored in over 30 games, I'm thinking you're expecting a bit much from him there. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
stknowle Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Really looking forward to this one. Which Argentine master tactician with the initials MP will come out on top!!?
CB Fry Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Well, Shane Long is starting and that can only mean goals goals goals.
