CB Fry Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Our football club is in desperate need of an engaging and entertaining social media PR campaign right now.
S-Clarke Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 He and Stephens were magnificent at Anfield for that 0-1. Under a good manager like Puel he’s not that bad Stephens was great last season, one of the shining lights. But even he is regressing at the moment. I'd say all of our team are playing below themselves, they're all better than this with a decent structure around them. It's really clear to see a well coached team, but it's also really clear to see one which isn't coached - or one which isn't following the orders - and this is one of them.
Whitey Grandad Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 To be fair, Puel and MPe have had their leading CB's sold from under them with no replacements inbound (other than dross like Bedranek). I still don't think Yoshida is our biggest issue, I know there are some who seemingly hate the bloke, but there are much bigger issues with our squad than Maya. I don’t hate him at all. It’s just that he’s not very good at defending.
Jonnyboy Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 I genuinely wonder if Shane Long will score another goal in his professional football career as a striker?
Whitey Grandad Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Ah JWP on - that will make all the difference here. Whatever the problem, JWP is not normally the answer.
Dark Munster Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 He has to go before the Man. U. game - I don't care if Dave Watson is caretaker for that game, but Pellegrino has to go now. Good God no. Then we'll be playing with 11 statues on the pitch. He needs to go along with the clown.
5string Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 We can't even keep it from a short corner! I despair.
S-Clarke Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 I genuinely wonder if Shane Long will score another goal in his professional football career as a striker? He probably will once he's put in a team with the right players around him. He's better when he's alongside a 'big man' and he can run in behind, we've been trying to play him as our lone striker for the last 18 months hence his low goal return. He's always been a support player, same as Gabbiadani really, but we keep playing them as single strikers and seemingly recking their confidence. Puel was as bad with this one up front fixtation. If you had the right player, fair enough, but we don't.
Saint-Beer Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Ball retention is awful. We look so short of belief and confidence. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
Jonnyboy Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 I expected 4 or 5 against us but this is painful. It’s like watch a loved one fade away. Unfortunately in my opinion it goes back to the cruel premature death of our owner.
stknowle Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 **** me how did Long not get that. Jesus. He is just stunningly sh!t at scoring, which just happens to be what he is played to do.
5string Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Forster actually came to the edge of the box to claim the ball from an on-rushing striker! The 6 yard box.

Saint_clark Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Unfortunately in my opinion it goes back to the cruel premature death of our owner.Don't be ridiculous. Both our promotions and forays into Europe were after Markus passed. Sent from my SM-J330FN using Tapatalk

Not that I'm pretending Sam is our saviour, but variety/options/a range of strikers and all that.
aintforever Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Unfortunately in my opinion it goes back to the cruel premature death of our owner. True. Typical of our luck - finally get a rich owner and he pops his clogs after just a few years.
James Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Nice to see Shane taking the limelight off Redmond by setting them up with a top quality defensive header. Laughable how many basic mistakes we've made today. We are seriously lucky its only 5.
Suhari Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 See that? We had a break on....Gabbi made a great forward run, Tadic checked, slowed it down and played it wide.
benjii Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Ball retention is awful. We look so short of belief and confidence. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk Partly because our home crowd start wailing and booing if we don't "get it fackin forward, shhooooooootttt". I think we're going down unless a new manager comes in and does a great job. Bunch of frustrated players, some of whom are crap, poor manager and toxic atmosphere.
Crab Lungs Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Our football club is in desperate need of an engaging and entertaining social media PR campaign right now. Didn’t you get the email? The cartoony super hero tripe
Saints foreva Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Hahahaha Tadic celebrating that is ****ing embarrassing.

austsaint Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Hojbjerg is another player the new Manager should cultivate and stick with - good player,
Pamplemousse Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Pellegrino will claim that these few minutes were ‘perfect’
Katalinic Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 See that? We had a break on....Gabbi made a great forward run, Tadic checked, slowed it down and played it wide. Totally, we seem incapable of picking him out.
Crab Lungs Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Under Puel it was dull but it was never embarrassing
shurlock Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 He’s an awful centre half, a sign of our lack of ambition. You've always had an irrational thing against him, so hard to take you and others seriously. He's a no.3 CB who's often played like our no.1 CB in the last 18 months. Whether we should be in that situation is a more valid question. But there are far bigger problems and questions regarding the quality and direction of the squad.
Saint_clark Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Are we winning 2-1 with Redmond off the pitch? [emoji23] Sent from my SM-J330FN using Tapatalk
James Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Just hope that a couple of goalkeeping mistake goals don't blind our board to how bad this has been.
Suhari Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 I somehow feel that we have been better from an attacking point of view this half. Seem to be taking more risks. Too little too late of course (despite Tadic scoring as I type). My point is....we ARE better going forward then we have shown under this clown of a manager.
5string Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Good shot from Hoj. Loris made the sort of save we'd like Forster to make. Ooh, and then another goal! Ok, 2-5 looks like an 'entertaining' game rather than a mauling (which it really is).
Donatello Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Hahahaha Tadic celebrating that is ****ing embarrassing. Just ridiculous
stknowle Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 **** my old boots on another day this could have been 5 - 5!!! If Lemina's shot was 2 inches lower, if that back header from Rose had a bit more power, if Shane Long wasn't sh!t at scoring. Pellegrino in.
beatlesaint Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Hahahaha Tadic celebrating that is ****ing embarrassing. well he’s never gonna score at Wembley again to be fair

It is relatively easy to play when you're 5-1 down against a team playing at walking pace.
Pamplemousse Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 This is what the Puel out brigade wanted, more goals. You have your wish.
austsaint Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Another goal and we will draw the second half.
LeBizzier69 Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Bizarrely, we've probably had more chances in a game than we have for a long while.
Lord Duckhunter Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Under Puel it was dull but it was never embarrassing But people claimed they’d rather lose more games and finish lower, but be entertained more. Watched Leicester play some lovely stuff and again today. Bet those “ supporters” are enjoying the football Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Viking Saint Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Not all bad then, 2 away from home. Unfortunately, this is the kind of line that will keep Pellegrino in a job
James Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 This is what the Puel out brigade wanted, more goals. You have your wish. Not really sure that this is a time for the Puel in/out camps to be scoring points off each other. Whatever happened last year, nobody asked for an incompetent manager like Pellegrino to be appointed.
Saint-Beer Posted 26 December, 2017 Posted 26 December, 2017 Boufal has so much ability. Build a team around him and he could brilliant. He always tries and looks to so something. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
