Because he specialises in cutting inside. Some wingers (Townsend is another one) have to be played on their weaker side so they can shift the ball onto their weaker foot and have the option of the shot, the through ball or the overlap. Remember the one he scored AGAINST us a few years ago at Norwich?

Yes but in a game were we don't have our first choice FBs and lack any threat out wide we need someone to get out wide and get crosses in Austin rather than cutting inside.

Seems to me we started badly but came into it later.

Didn't realise Hudd hit the bar (I started watching after 15-20 mins).

From what I've seen, I think we're good value for the 1-0 lead so far - Hudd didn't really look great those last 20 mins.

Lemina playing well;

they're scared of Redmond (why?);

JWP getting stuck in better these days.

Need Bouf & Hoj on, please Mr Pellegrino, sir.

Seems very flat at SMS today. Nervy atmosphere I'm sure and not much to get excited about. Redmond is so frustrating to watch, regularly makes the wrong decisions. Hard to see why he keeps getting regular opportunities.

Tadic and Redmond really look poor, Targett looks invisible. Most of Austin's touches have come from dropping back into midfield (where is Tadic?). I'd bring on Boufal for Targett and Romeu for Redmond.

Who would play at LB? I can't see Boufal or Tadic playing wing back.

I can’t think of a player in the squad that I wouldn’t want in the starting 11 instead of Redmond. He’s a total deadweight and the manager needs to go, just for the clearly poor judgement involved in playing him.

Not today he is having to work his socks off covering Targett and get forward. The player that is letting down out there today is Tadic who has been **** poor.

Austin is a complete moron...he will almost certainly get a retrospective ban for that assault on their keeper. It wasn't even cleverly disguised. Ref got no help from his linesman otherwise Charlie would already be off. What the hell was he thinking!

Are the board myopic enough to only look at a result before deciding on the manager? I hope not, the ideal scenario would be to win and then give a new manager a decent platform to build from.

Anyone who criticises Austin for poor all round play should look at a number of bits he did first half. Brings the ball down with nice touches, keeps the move going etc.

Redmond makes the wrong choice every single time... Targett is in the clear, he has a shot. Chance to take it down the wing, cuts inside. Chance to take it into space or in on goal on his favoured right foot... hesitates, ends up turning onto his left! ARGH!

Painful to watch. So clearly resting on one goal again. Can only end up in tears

I think Tadic has, with all the diving and playacting created a reputation for himself whereby a foul has to be nailed on before a ref will give it. He needs to realize this and stop with the needless flopping.

Was just thinking the same thing. Ref's are ignoring him now.

How the feck does Redmond get in ahead of Boufal?? Please someone answer this for me? As Le Tiss said other day, why does Pell pull form players out of the side the ****eHead

Hoj should be cementing a place right now, with Lemina pushing up in to all Acton Davis role

“And this is where Nathan Redmond can use his pace!” Exclaims the commentator, with Southampton on the break, moments before the entire Huddersfield team catch up with the Southampton winger.

Hudd player should be booked for that - not even trying to head it, just jumped into...

... oh, Tadic. Right. Ok, previous form an' all that.

Redmond did the right thing. Utter waste from Austin.

Yes, he took on his man by going round the outside! Maybe that will give him confidence to do it more often.
