His record is appalling

Celtic with John Barnes :mcinnes:

Black was assistant manager to Steve Kean at Blackburn Rovers - Blackburn relegated

He then went to Blackpool to support Barry Ferguson - Blackpool won only three of their twenty games

Next he goes to Wigan (July 2014) - Wigan relegated to league 1

Next up was Rotherham - Black was named as first team coach of Championship side Rotherham United (July 15) - They won just 6 of the 30 games he was there and were rock bottom. He left and Rotherham appointed Neil Warnock - the final 13 games Rotherham went W6, D5 L2 and stayed up.

Next was Villa - first team coach and then temp manager. Villa relegated

SFC next and its been decline, decline, decline

At least get your facts right, certainly the Wigan bit is ********. Maybe it was you that updated his wiki page to say he left us be a use he was useless :-)

What do you think the real reason is then?

Why does a football club need to fabricate a story for the departure of a managerial assistant? It's not that important to lie about is it?

I have no idea but if you believe it then bless you.

Eric Black resigns due to an abject failure to coach players who obviously have issues that are not addressed.

In addition team tactics have been very suspect during his whole term at the club. This situation has lead to Southampton FC happily accepting his resignation though we thank Eric for diligently taking the club backwards during his term of office.

For this service he was well respected by the players who enjoyed the lack of success in the period and his wonderful company.

Ok then - if you say so.....

Now what is Pelligrino made of..... From the evidence so far, similar fluff....

Who are the the tin foil hat wearers going to blame now?

Well at a pinch, there’s plenty of options:

Pellegrino, Pellegrino’s staff including that bloke who supposedly wrote a book on coaching, Krueger for being too Canadian, Les for being too old and undermining all of the club’s achievements under Cortese, the groundsman, the tea lady, the media person responsible for running player interviews, tweets and press releases, and take your pick of the players including Redmond, VVD for not caring, Bertrand for not smiling often enough, FF for resembling the less animated version of a tree, Sims and Hesketh for being far too injured this season and Hoedt for having a strop in training and on social media that may or may not have actually happened.

There’s probably others.

I take it back about Wigan.

Hmmmm there’s more to this than meets the eye.

So glad he’s gone (professionally).

Come on Mr Monk....you are closer to the club than most of us. Are you able to add anything (truthful) to this thread.

If you think there's some massive conspiracy to cover up the departure of a fu cking assistant coach then you're even more thick than I thought you were.

Bless. Maybe you should read Monks comments. If you believe the excuse given for his departure then I guess you’ll be leaving a glass of Sherry and some carrots out on Christmas Eve too. I’ll leave it to you to have the last word of course. Happy Christmas.

It was more like leave quietly now & we'll give you a bad back cover story or dont & have a sacking on your already terrible CV!

Monk has been proven to be full of sh it recently so not interested.

Its only utter retards on this forum that think there is any need whatsoever to fabricate a story to cover up Eric Black leaving. If he's done anything wrong, do a one line statement. Not difficult.

You want to be gullible because Les Reed is howwible and evil and scheming and everyfing then that's that's your simple-minded lookout.

Posted
Black is not the cause of our decline, far from it and from what I am told the players never had a problem with him. You have to look higher

If you look at our stats we are 4th to bottom in terms of distance covered, only a few km from being 2nd to bottom. So no doubt they loved him as they didn't have to run as much. No surprises to see Spurs 2nd in that list though.

Posted
Certainly a **** and ball excuse to leave mid-season. Clearly that’s not the real reason for his departure.

Maybe Les will take a hands-on roll. They do XXL tracksuits.

You are desperate to find a smoking gun that confirms there is something **** at the heart of SFC.

Maybe the club think that they should be charitable as it's Christmas and as a person he is much better than as a coach? Maybe they think that they don't want to

totally ruin his chances of gaining another club next year because of that? Maybe they think that if they ran him down it would make it a touch more difficult to persuade

a new man to join if they thought that in the future if things didn't work out they would be "thrown under the bus". Maybe MP realized that he wasn't quite the person he

needed to get his ideas through to the players? Finally, you don't have to be nasty when you ask someone to leave your employment and not just in case they get even

nastier than you were and start telling "stories" which will only end in tears for both sides.

Talking of being nasty I would like to say sorry to Verbal for my comment about him the other day. It was uncalled for

and I should have kept my mouth shut.

You had the mongboard eating out of your hands, then you blew it with hubris and overreach (along with your admission that your main contacts had left the club).

Its going to take to make than a dour MLG-inspired avatar to salvage your reputation, pal.

Not at all. I just don't see the reason why they should come up with such a story. Strachan and Redknapp came up with similar things. Why not just say you've had enough and move on. Or whatever the real reason is.

Maybe he's been not well for a while and him and the club have agreed it's better to turn it in.

Maybe fu cking that.

Newsflash: he's an assistant coach. He doesn't need a spin machine to cover up the "real reason" behind his departure because no one, anywhere, gives a flying fu ck that he's left.

Except of course for a few flat earther conspiracy idiots on this forum, desperate for an angle to cream their knickers over.

Eric Black's got a back problem, oh really?

Sure he's not got addicted to opioid painkillers and his increasingly erratic behaviour hasn't spilled over onto the players?

You and that fullofschiiitt shurlock seem to get away with constant personal abuse of anyone whose opinion you disagree with.

Result.............Huddersfield buildup thread has 2 pitiful pages. Well done you two. Feel proud of yourselves. You are doing a grand job of destroying this site. Well done!! Internet trolls.

Not big into conspiracy theories but this does seem strange. Has his back deteriorated that badly since the summer? If so why not just put him on sick leave, to have his operation (or whatever), so he could resume as soon as fit, like the playing staff would. The timing of the announcement does suggest there is more than meets the eye.

Well you’ve told me sister!

Not buying the bad back story... no issues when he was with the Scotland squad.

Eric has a bad back like Gary McSheffrey, Adrian Mutu and

Saido Berahino have calf injuries.....

Les Reeds goodbye effort was about as sincere as Victor Anichebes twitter posts

He's off to be assistant manager with the sweaties, Saints wanted compo from SFA, the SFA said you've pulled our pants down already when you let that bloke who liked a wee dram come to us, you can whistle for any more from us.

Wonder if Gabriel Macaya will replace him? Compagnucci and Tamarit came here with Pellegrino but Macaya joined Bielsa at Lille, however it is all falling apart over there between Bielsa and the clubs' executives so he might not have a job much longer.

if he's off for a week or two fine, but realistically if somepne wants extended leave without pay that would rarely be given. try it and see where you get. npne of my staff have, not because they were not valuable emplpyees but because you cant live with temporary staff indefinitely

We lost Paul Mitchell to Spur, who later discovered Dele Alli, Kieran Trippier and Toby Alderweireld for Spur. We now lost Eric Back to Man City.

'discovered Toby Alderweireld for Spurs'?

He didn't have to look very far.

Was he the first team coach or assistant coach? Either way not one person here knows if he was good at his job or not. There is just a massive assumption that he was useless and was the reason for our slump. Last season we were told by the people who have it in for him that he was not popular with the players. When Puel left he was retained, apparently because he was, you've guessed it, popular with the players. The reason he is leaving may well be genuine, it may also well be a cover story. No one here knows either way. If we continue in the current form the mob will have to find another scapegoat. If we suddenly improve the mob will say that they were right all along. As ever, the lack of any factual evidence will not stop people forming their own reality. Happy Christmas!

Don't know if that was deliberate or a typo on his name but made me laugh given the press release :-)

I have no evidence to confirm this of course, but perhaps the reason he was popular with the players was that he didn't push them overly hard in training???

Just a thought.

There's no evidence to support anything that was said about him.

The fans wanted change, they've got change. We will find out soon enough if this change proves beneficial or not. As others have pointed out Black seems to have had a track record of being associated with failure and maybe there is a problem with his coaching and he has been the makeweight to bring in somebody new? Maybe another of Pellegrino's old muckers?

Seems an odd thing to have happened in isolation so chances are other things are afoot.
