Bad Wolf Posted 7 December, 2017 Posted 7 December, 2017 Just in Really happy he's in work but he deserves better than owners like that.
Mattio Posted 7 December, 2017 Posted 7 December, 2017 He's picked some sh1t clubs to work at since Saints, I'd rather take a step down and work for a club with ambitions to move forward, hopefully he does well all the same.

Sheff Utd clearly have ambition tbf and he just wasn't given the time at Reading.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 7 December, 2017 Posted 7 December, 2017 Good luck Nigel, i really hope it works out well
RedFear Posted 7 December, 2017 Posted 7 December, 2017 Sheff Utd clearly have ambition tbf and he just wasn't given the time at Reading. I agree, at the time the Sheff Utd job seemed like a great match for them both. Shame it didn't work out I know some people have re-written history with him, but I still have total respect for what he did with us and will always be greatful
lickierambert Posted 7 December, 2017 Posted 7 December, 2017 Good luck Nigel-that's a tough gig he's got there

This comment is spot on in my opinion. I am surprised by his choice of club, but of course we all wish him well.

I had assumed your sentiments were the consensus.
krissyboy31 Posted 7 December, 2017 Posted 7 December, 2017 Fans up here are pretty happy but working for the Allam's makes it almost inevitable it will all end in tears. Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
9-3 Posted 7 December, 2017 Posted 7 December, 2017 Good Luck Mr Adkins you took us on a fantastic ride when you were here.
LuckyNumber7 Posted 7 December, 2017 Posted 7 December, 2017 Tough job but delighted for him to be back in management, hope he does well.
Disco Stu Posted 7 December, 2017 Posted 7 December, 2017 Apparently he's already caused controversy by repeatingly refering to them as "Hull City" (which is apparently not okay with the owner?).
SuperSAINT Posted 7 December, 2017 Posted 7 December, 2017 Apparently he's already caused controversy by repeatingly refering to them as "Hull City" (which is apparently not okay with the owner?). TIGERS, Nigel!
Disco Stu Posted 7 December, 2017 Posted 7 December, 2017 TIGERS, Nigel! I bet it's gone down well with the fans though!
Toomer Posted 7 December, 2017 Posted 7 December, 2017 Tigers on the bus, good luck to him hope he get them up.
Batman Posted 7 December, 2017 Posted 7 December, 2017 well, the next great english manager, the new fergie, the person good enough to come in here and push us back into Europa League contention must surely be good enough to get Hull a top 10/playoff push at least this season?

LeBizzier69 Posted 7 December, 2017 Posted 7 December, 2017 Sure he'll bring some new faces into the building.
Heisenberg Posted 7 December, 2017 Posted 7 December, 2017 286 days since Hull last beat a top 6 side in the premier league. 578 for us

Charlie Wayman Posted 7 December, 2017 Posted 7 December, 2017 In the Cage? Great news! Wishing you every success Nigel and looking forward to greeting you in the PL soon. There really is only one Nigel Adkins.
the saint in winchester Posted 7 December, 2017 Posted 7 December, 2017 Good to know he's "controlling the controllables" and is soon reciting The Man in the Glass again"!!!

Saint-Fred Posted 8 December, 2017 Posted 8 December, 2017 My favourite manager we have had. Top man, really like him...I wish him the very best of luck,
sammysaint Posted 8 December, 2017 Posted 8 December, 2017 Southampton Legend, I loved it when he was back for SKDs testimonial match.
saint lard Posted 9 December, 2017 Posted 9 December, 2017 Landed himself a plum job at saints with an embarrassing amount of riches at his disposal for both league one and the championship. Yet managed to fall short on both occasions....coming second. Nauseating, cliche riddled press conferences. Been Found out since leaving....he’s poor.....and will be again at Hull. He achieved the bare minimum he should have at Southampton. The way people hold him in some messiah like status is quite embarrassing. I wish him well however. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Lighthouse Posted 9 December, 2017 Posted 9 December, 2017 Won League 1 during his tenure. Would have won the Champ were it not for some inexplicable refereeing at Boro. Lard is a plank
saint lard Posted 9 December, 2017 Posted 9 December, 2017 Won League 1 during his tenure. Would have won the Champ were it not for some inexplicable refereeing at Boro. Lard is a plank We never won anything under Adkins.....runners up to Brighton in league 1 and runners up to Reading in The championship. The biggest loss was losing at home 3-2 to Reading. Don’t blame the ref.......you plank. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkEvidently you have little or no respect for him, but Nigel Adkins fulfilled what he was contacted to do - achieve two promotions. I, like many others Saints fans, will hold him in very high regard and be grateful for his efforts. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

I can't see how anyone who did can have anything but positive things to say about Nigel , Some of my best days supporting Saints !
Saint in Paradise Posted 9 December, 2017 Posted 9 December, 2017 Mr Adkins is actually the only recent manager that I felt really sorry for when he got kicked out. Mr Pardew a bit less so but as for M.P. and R.K. well they were somewhat "don't let the door hit you on your way out".
davefoggy Posted 9 December, 2017 Posted 9 December, 2017 You obviously didn't go away to Orient and Plymouth or experience the pitch invasions after both promotions were confirmed! I can't see how anyone who did can have anything but positive things to say about Nigel , Some of my best days supporting Saints ! This. Happy days. Great memories. Was a better experience supporting Saints then compared to now. Nothing will compare to the Dell days for atmosphere and drama of course, but Nigel Adkins gave us fans great entertainment and excitement in his time here. But most of all, I liked his positive post match interviews. The last Saints manager that I could actually understand what he was saying. Fact
Heisenberg Posted 9 December, 2017 Posted 9 December, 2017 We never won anything under Adkins..... We "won" promotion to the championship and we "won" promotion to the premier league. He also won our hearts and will always be a saints legend :) :)
John Boy Saint Posted 10 December, 2017 Posted 10 December, 2017 Anyone feeling inclined to slag off Adkins in his time with us really should be spending their Saturday afternoons down Nottarf Krap! The League One and Championship seasons with him at the helm were without a doubt a right wheeze. So he might have had an embarrassment of riches, but you still have to make the components at your disposal work. As a comparison Koeman piddled oodles of money up the wall this past summer on players, yet whilst they looked good on paper they proved to be about as useful as a one legged man in a @R$e kicking contest in his hands.
SKD Posted 2 January, 2018 Posted 2 January, 2018 1 win (which came 2 days after he took over) in 6 since taking over Hull. I predicted he’d be out of a job in 18 months, if their form continues it looks like it could be sooner. And to think a few generally thought he was the man to keep us up this season
Pamplemousse Posted 2 January, 2018 Posted 2 January, 2018 1.4/10 Someone might bite though if you’re lucky
egg Posted 26 October, 2019 Posted 26 October, 2019 If Ralf can't get these players to play, Nigel has no chance.
