krissyboy31 Posted 1 December, 2017 Posted 1 December, 2017 Adam Blackmore tweeted that MoPe had confirmed that Cedric was out.
whelk Posted 1 December, 2017 Posted 1 December, 2017 Can't wait for an airing of the Amy Winehouse song! Wasn’t it the Zutons?
Charlie Wayman Posted 1 December, 2017 Posted 1 December, 2017 Forster Cedric/Pied - VvD - Hoedt - Bertrand Romeu - Lemina - Hojbjerg Boufal - Tadic Austin Subs: McCarthy, Yoshida, Davis, JWP, Redmond, Long, Gabbiadini That's the one for me.
Matthew Le God Posted 1 December, 2017 Posted 1 December, 2017 Yan Valery. Big step for the lad though, but s good player. Can't wait for an airing of the Amy Winehouse song! Amy Winehouse covered it... it was written by The Zutons...
krissyboy31 Posted 1 December, 2017 Posted 1 December, 2017 Amy Winehouse covered it... it was written by The Zutons... Yes I did know that!!
VectisSaint Posted 1 December, 2017 Posted 1 December, 2017 Amy Winehouse covered it... it was written by The Zutons... The Steve Winwood song of the same name is probsbly a better basis for a football song.
Lighthouse Posted 1 December, 2017 Posted 1 December, 2017 The Amy Winehouse version has got to be one of the most overplayed songs in the history of radio. That and Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol.
saintmonkey1979 Posted 2 December, 2017 Posted 2 December, 2017 Technically, it was Mark Ronson featuring Amy Winehouse, but that's just splitting hairs [emoji12] Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

davefoggy Posted 2 December, 2017 Posted 2 December, 2017 Are you on some kind of wind up mate? No Austin? No Tadic? No Ward-Prowse? Were you at St Marys last week or are you another one of our 'fans' that don't go to games?

Avenue_Saint Posted 2 December, 2017 Posted 2 December, 2017 How the hell doesn't Austin get A START? Are you on the funny bacca? Maybe. Toss up between the two. Gabbi not been given service of late, but we are well aware of his abilities.
Lighthouse Posted 2 December, 2017 Posted 2 December, 2017 Maybe. Toss up between the two. Gabbi not been given service of late, but we are well aware of his abilities. So you're proposing to put him in a team with 9 defensive players?
Avenue_Saint Posted 2 December, 2017 Posted 2 December, 2017 So you're proposing to put him in a team with 9 defensive players? What's boufal there to do?? Sit on the bench and scratch his arse as you have been advocating for God knows how long? Ok then.
Matthew Le God Posted 2 December, 2017 Posted 2 December, 2017 What's boufal there to do?? Sit on the bench and scratch his arse as you have been advocating for God knows how long? Ok then. We don't need 5 defenders and 3 defensive midfielders vs Bournemouth We are likely to be on the front foot, like we were vs. Everton. When we played in a 4-2-3-1 system... which has 3 attacking midfielder and 1 striker... 4 attacking players plus 2 attacking fullbacks = 6 You are suggesting we only have Gabbiadini & Boufal as attacking players & 2 attacking wing backs = 4 We are playing Bournemouth tomorrow... not Man City again!
GGalpin Posted 2 December, 2017 Posted 2 December, 2017 Forster Pied VVD Hoedt Bertrand Romeu Lemina JWP Boufal Tadic Austin For me, anyway.
Shance Posted 3 December, 2017 Posted 3 December, 2017 I'd like to see a midfield 3 of Romeu, PEH and Lemina. Think it could be brilliant.
Saint Albert Posted 3 December, 2017 Posted 3 December, 2017 Probably a statement of the obvious but Pellegrino has said that Pied will be in the starting lineup tomorrow in place of Soares: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/15697550.Pellegrino_backs_Pied_to_shine/ Also, as expected he’s hinting at a return to the formation that beat Everton: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/15697521.Pellegrino_prepares_to_freshen_Saints_up/
mrfahaji Posted 3 December, 2017 Posted 3 December, 2017 I had a dream that we lost 4-1, Pellegrino was sacked, we appointed Joey Barton as manager and I gave up supporting Saints as a result. A nightmare all round, hope none of it comes true!
stknowle Posted 3 December, 2017 Posted 3 December, 2017 Long shot Sincere condolences to his family, but at least this means we won't have to suffer watching him fail to score yet again.

Saint Garrett Posted 3 December, 2017 Posted 3 December, 2017 Didn't even realise Pied was fit. Better than nothing for sure, he has looked ok in the very few games hes played in... Forster Pied VVD Hoedt Bertrand Lemina Romeu JWP Tadic Boufal Austin Would be very harsh on Hojbjerg but don't think we can go with 3DM's against Bompey, and not sure you can leave Romeu or Lemina out. Also excludes Davis.
del boy Posted 3 December, 2017 Posted 3 December, 2017 Sincere condolences to his family, but at least this means we won't have to suffer watching him fail to score yet again. No, no, you misunderstood that comment I think. The poster was merely stating that Long isn't the player he used to be. It s just one viewpoint of course

skintsaint Posted 3 December, 2017 Posted 3 December, 2017 massive weak link there Cedric has been playing well recently Pied is just not of the same quality I'm not even sure he is better than Cuco. If we play with a back 3 I have no problem with him being the wingback, one thing I noticed with Pied is that he isn't the best defensively as a rightback. Didn't he use to be winger earlier in his career?

I don't think you quite get this. It's not Boufal I have the problem with in that team, it's the 9 defensive players behind him. This is worse than the team Koeman put out in Denmark.
Toadhall Saint Posted 3 December, 2017 Posted 3 December, 2017 Could potentially go something like... Forster Pied VVD Hoedt Bertrand Lemina Romeu Hojbjerg Tadic Austin Boufal That’s the side I’d go for. OR & PEH holding - Lemina playing further forward or rotating with OR/PEH

shurlock Posted 3 December, 2017 Posted 3 December, 2017 Dropping Hoj and Lemina for Davis and JWP had better prove to be a tactical masterstroke... Rotation- another residual effect from last season, out of the manager's control?
davefoggy Posted 3 December, 2017 Posted 3 December, 2017 Ward-Prowse deserves his start after last week
verlaine1979 Posted 3 December, 2017 Posted 3 December, 2017 Rotation- another residual effect from last season, out of the manager's control? Perhaps, though neither Hoj nor Lemina has played excessive amounts lately? It may well work out - no reason Davis and JWP can't dominate at Bournemouth - but on performances over the last two decent performances, rotation is the only reasonable explanation for the choice.
DRAGONZ_RULE Posted 3 December, 2017 Posted 3 December, 2017 Dropping Hoj and Lemina for Davis and JWP had better prove to be a tactical masterstroke... Resting two important players ahead of a tough game against Arsenal next week. PEH has not featured all season and then played a shade under two full games in 4 days. Lemina back from a while out and the full 90 against City. Romeu suspended vs Everton and Davis benched vs City. Would expect next week's midfield to be PEH, Lemina and Romeu.
Dusic Posted 3 December, 2017 Posted 3 December, 2017 That team was pretty obvious apart from Lemina, but he is coming back from injury.

markr27 Posted 3 December, 2017 Posted 3 December, 2017 So it's 1255hrs and still no mention of either Bournemouth or Southampton on Sky's Super Sunday coverage.... 25 mins into the programme.

Hamilton Saint Posted 3 December, 2017 Posted 3 December, 2017 Technical question: I'm not getting the audio "live commentary" via Saints website. Had this problem once before and it had to do with reloading the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. Tried that but hearing nothing. I've tried using Firefox and Chrome, but nothing. Any ideas? Thanks.
