Dusic Posted 22 November, 2017 Posted 22 November, 2017 Where does this lad rank in our all time list of number 10s?
farawaysaint Posted 22 November, 2017 Posted 22 November, 2017 He wasn't nearly as bad as the stick he got. Played out of position constantly by our old friend (although I confess by the end I was a little confused as to what his position actually was).
Buenos Aires Saint Posted 22 November, 2017 Posted 22 November, 2017 He sits above Neil McCann that´s for sure... http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-southampton/rueckennummern/verein/180
SuperSAINT Posted 22 November, 2017 Posted 22 November, 2017 Where does this lad rank in our all time list of number 10s? Probably poses the same goal threat as our current attackers, TBF.
Pamplemousse Posted 22 November, 2017 Posted 22 November, 2017 Paul Wotton and Neil McCann are up there as well
Pamplemousse Posted 22 November, 2017 Posted 22 November, 2017 Jim McCalliog Gordon Hobson David Armstrong Paul Rideout Andy Cook Alan McLoughlin Barry Horne Iain Dowie Neil Maddison Egil Ostenstad Kevin Davies Neil McCann Jermaine Wright Paul Wotton Jason Puncheon Guly Do Prado Gaston Ramirez Sadio Mané Charlie Austin Some of those are way before my time so I have no idea how they compare. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-southampton/rueckennummern/verein/180
shurlock Posted 22 November, 2017 Posted 22 November, 2017 Charlie, bit of a retread, even by your standards, don’t you think?
Dusic Posted 22 November, 2017 Author Posted 22 November, 2017 Charlie, bit of a retread, even by your standards, don’t you think?Trying to keep it lighthearted, pal. Had enough of Derry telling everyone we should play with 11 outfield players (including no midfielders). It reminded me that we often played with nine when Jamma was involved. Top professional though, unlike Austin who seems more interested in horse racing these days, somewhat ironically given his movement. Also somewhat of an ode to the lunatic fringe that thinks being in the Championship is so much fun.

Honorable mention to Davies first time round.
Appy Posted 22 November, 2017 Posted 22 November, 2017 David Armstrong in a different class to the rest of those. Honorable mention to Davies first time round. Mane was alright
twopintsnilnil Posted 23 November, 2017 Posted 23 November, 2017 Mane was alright And him, obviously.
Bad Wolf Posted 23 November, 2017 Posted 23 November, 2017 He wasn't nearly as bad as the stick he got. Played out of position constantly by our old friend (although I confess by the end I was a little confused as to what his position actually was). This. When he played in his actual position, he wasn't appalling. He was just average. However it wasn't his fault George Burley, for some unknown reason, wanted to build the team around him and play him at LB and on one occasion CB. Got way too much stick. Nice guy too. In our game against Sheff Utd when we had the pitch invasion, some friends of mine went up to him and went "Jermaine, you're a legend!" And he just looked at them, laughed and went "Think you've mistaken me for someone else!"
Surman4no7shirt Posted 23 November, 2017 Posted 23 November, 2017 Absolutely useless and never put the effort in.
ericb Posted 23 November, 2017 Posted 23 November, 2017 David Armstrong in a different class to the rest of those. Honorable mention to Davies first time round. Armstrong was/is one of my favourite ever Saints player, what i'd give for a player like him now.
Avenue_Saint Posted 24 November, 2017 Posted 24 November, 2017 Neil McCann, Jermaine Wright, Lloyd James. Special kinds of talent
