Redmond doing better, actually taking players on. He’s got the pace to do it.

Even though his shot was poor, that was better. However he’s still cutting inside virtually every time when there is an option to dribble or pass wide. The one time he did go outside he created a half decent opportunity. Just so predictable!

Oh do shut up.... If you hate people saying their opinions you shouldn't be on a forum. All you do is moan moan moan. Get a life.

I like opinion but like it to be balanced... and it isnt

Redmond moves to the right, creates a chance, then we work an attack to get Bertrand to the byline and come close again. Hope Pellegrino is noting the positive developments...!

Cedric’s has a poor game. I can’t remember the last time he had a positive influence.

It seems like the general malaise has affected some more than others. Cedric and Bertrand Tadic all very poor for quite some time.

We’re regularly testing the goalkeeper which is a good sign.

Cut to a dingy basement in Govan where a crusty neck beard crosses “no shots on target” off a notepad.

He runs his sausage-like fingers through his greasy mop before circling “no wins vs top 6 in 13 tries”.

First 20 minutes were absolutely awful.

Then we started to play with a greater intensity & created a couple of chances.

Still by no means perfect but if we can carry on playing like that in 2nd half there's a good chance we can get the win.

Well we are the better team. Burnley are terrible so a clear 0-1 smash and grab coming in the second half.

MoPe needs to run training sessions on finding Gabbi he needs the ball played into space behind the opposition defence so much earlier than he gets.

I spent 40 minutes looking for a stream to view the game. From the comments on BBC, seems I was lucky not finding one! 45 minutes of dross. Is that a fair description?

Something needs to change. The tactics, formations, etc, it just doesn't work with what we have. We are way, way to easy to defend. Every squad does the same thing. Pull back, let us pass it all around far away from the goal, and then make us drive in. They have no fear of crosses because we can't get on the end of them. They have no fear of us beating them 1-on-1, because Boufal is the only one who may be able to do that. We need 15 passes to get around the box to try and score. There really isn't one player who causes the defenders any problems outside of maybe Boufal and Gabbi (throw Austin in there but he's always on the bench). They just wait and then counter at the proper time for a goal or two.

When Saints do manage to hit the target the 'keeper decides to have a day where nothing is going to get past him.

They were relatively routine saves.

It's an inoffensive game. Kind of pre-season friendly feel about it.

Coupla shots, coupla passes, tackle here and there, stand off a bit, run down the line... oof, that'll do, cup of tea anyone?

Lots of huff and puff couple of chances not much quality. Burnley don't look interested in playing football clearly looking to steal a goal from a set piece.

Come on, if you hit the target at most once or twice in a game you're not going to score many. We're just doubly in shock seeing us actually shoot, and seeing a keeper capable of saving things.

So bored and frustrated watching us. Hugely cautious and slow yet again. Win lose or draw I just can't see anything changing under this guy. Horrible approach to football and endless changes each week. Rewarding the poor form and petulance of Tadic and Redmond with starts is just depressing. Are we really just giving up on the idea there might be a vaguely competent manager out there who isn't afraid to attack?

watching the gap between gabbi and the others grow as the half went on...depressing

This league is becoming ****ing boring to be honest. Far too many teams just sitting back and trying not to lose. The way to break that cr@p down is pace spirit and maximum effort. We don't have enough of any of those elements.

Enjoyed (is that the right word) the last 20 or so minutes. Keep it up Saints.

Agree with all that, re gabbi its a bit of both, the timing of both pass and his run...

Boring once more. We need pace when we attack. Teams have so much time to get back into shape when we have the ball.

Was just about to say that myself, so thank you.

Successful teams seem to attack with pace from 40yds out. We get to 30yds out, then slow... stop... wait... pass... the end.

It's not even about pace but about moving the ball quicker. Players want to take three of fours touches before every pass. We could have opened them up a few times just by moving the ball quicker and releasing Gabbi earlier.

Garbage again, we became more attacking as the half went on and more players were getting forward
