John Boy Saint Posted 20 July, 2020 Posted 20 July, 2020 Jeez even I would take the job - money for old rope - lose 2 get the tin tack whatever cockamamy contract you have paid up. What a way to earn a living - rest of us ordinary souls get the sack “bugger how am I going to pay the mortgage” football managers “Oh dear this’ll upset the wife for a few weeks - I’ll take her somewhere nice”. - they need fire and brimstone for the next 2 games and they are looking at a limp lettuce leaf............. the running of football does make you scratch your head sometimes. 1
S-Clarke Posted 20 July, 2020 Posted 20 July, 2020 I think any manager would be mental to go there. It really isn't any way to run a football club. Maybe they need to be clear in their head what they want to achieve with Watford, what football philosophy and identity they want? They don't seem to have a clue, they just move players around between Granada and Udinese and have no real transfer strategy. Oddball club and they really do need to get relegated so their owners can feel the financial pinch of their absurd club management.

Lighthouse Posted 20 July, 2020 Posted 20 July, 2020 Watford is a free hit for any unemployed manager. Sure, you’ll get sacked after a few months but nobody will blame you because they’re run by a bunch of fruitcakes.
The Cat Posted 20 July, 2020 Posted 20 July, 2020 Mark Hughes is available and has experience of helping a team avoid relegation from the top flight...

Barry the Badger Posted 23 July, 2020 Posted 23 July, 2020 I noticed last night that we already have three points more than we had our 8th place season under Puel. That was such a weird season.

"Rubbish" is being extremely generous there stevy. But you're right 2 cup finals in 4 years is remarkable for a manager of Puel's ability. Just shows that crazy things really do happen and anyone, and I mean anyone can be a professional football manager with a bit of luck and self belief. Edited 23 July, 2020 by niceandfriendly
