Ashby Saint Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 Why did we spent twenty million and his fat four year contract on Carrillo then? How does that fit this masterplan? I'm not saying that it is the plan, but I was just pointing out that he could achieve his possible aims without looking at the club as a longterm investment.
Topcat Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 (edited) Why did we spent twenty million and his fat four year contract on Carrillo then? How does that fit this masterplan? Carillo will have some residual value. maybe £15m? Thus only a few milion loss on him. Ashby Saint has the point, maybe the downside for Gao is just to walk away with £20m to £50m more, all of which is outside of China? Why would any "wealthy" owner really want/need to make a profit from the transfers that take place when staring at relegation? Lowe took a few million profit in the relegation season transfer window. hypochondriac Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 Who the hell is going to pay £15m for a non scoring forward? We'd get about 6 million.

Matthew Le God Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 Relegation, parachute money raped by the owners , owners sell up on the cheap and walk away with a big smile and bank balance.....the plan is working perfectly. This is all kinds of crazy. Saints would have significantly more money if they stay up and the value of the club as an asset wouldn't plummet. The 'parachute money' is just a lot less TV money than we would get if we stayed up.
Batman Posted 10 March, 2018 Author Posted 10 March, 2018 We'd get about 6 million. And probably have to pay a chunk of his wages weekly or in a lump sum
Lighthouse Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 This works if you are trying to make money, but what if the objective is to get money out of the country. Spend £200M on club, recoup £75M on Van Dyk, leaving £125M to get when you walk away from the club. You could make that from selling the squad and pocketing the parachute payments. 2 fundamental errors here. 1. You seem to be assuming that a club 8th in the premier league is worth exactly the same as one bottom half of the championship, minus the £75m for Virgil. He wouldn’t even get half of £125m when he try’s to ‘walk away from the club’. 2. You seem to think GAO got every penny of the £75m into his personal account, up front, no questions asked. For a start 20% of the club is still Kat’s. Celtic get a big chunk, £10-15m was quoted, not to mention the various other fees involved in trading a player. Actually three fundamental errors, your also assuming there are no laws against what is essential fraud, money laundering and doing a runner from a company which is essentially bankrupt with hundreds of millions in embezzled cash.
Joesaint Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 OMG It is difficult to watch, cant stand this team, He has to go!!!!
Edmonton Saint Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 If only our board had acted back in October when it was obvious that the idiot wasn't working out.
davefizzy14 Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 Absoulte rubbish from the manager once again. Needs to go!
Topcat Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 Who the hell is going to pay £15m for a non scoring forward? Les Reed would.
badgerx16 Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 He won't be sacked until the end of the season. Les will not admit his mistake in appointing him.
Pamplemousse Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 I can't wait for more twaddle from this useless man.
Saints foreva Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 Hopefully Reed and Pellegrino get plenty of stick at the next home game. They have got off lightly.
saint77 Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 Really dislike this manager more than any other and I’m nearly 60 so seen a few poor managers but this guy takes the biscuit
Crab Lungs Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 Possibly the most inept manager I've ever seen at Saints. Terry Connor me up, somebody.
PaulSaint Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 The most inept manager I've ever seen at Saints.
hypochondriac Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 Possibly the most inept manager I've ever seen at Saints. Terry Connor me up, somebody.Undoubtedly the worst.
Matthew Le God Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 Ian Branfoot at least had the excuse most of his squad was **** (although that makes it all the more daft he dropped Le Tissier). But Pellegrino takes ineptitude to a whole new level!
Trout-Tickler Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 You have to ask yourself what does he have to do to get sacked? The bottom line for a manager is results so why is he still here?
CB Fry Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 We only need to give him two and a half more seasons and he will definitely turn into the next Alex Ferguson and Lawrie McMenemy.
trousers Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 (edited) Ok.... Where do I sign up? #pellegrinomustgoimmediatelyclub Edited 10 March, 2018 by trousers
S-Clarke Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 The most inept manager I've seen full stop, not just at Southampton. It's gross neglegance that he's still at the club. The bloke is a fraudster.
jawillwill Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 Pelligrino Out I'm afraid. Seems like a decent bloke. Doesn't seem like a decent manager.
Badger Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 So it's a choice between Pellegrino and Frank De Boer. Two clubs interested. Who really had their first choice, us or Palace? Credit to Palace for acting when it was blatantly obvious it was the wrong choice.
aintforever Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 I’m not spending another penny at that ****ing place unless they sack the ****.
simo Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 West ham fans turning their backs on the pitch , something we could try out next home game if he doesn't go ?
Matthew Le God Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 West ham fans turning their backs on the pitch , something we could try out next home game if he doesn't go ? That is over a month away... 14th April!
Dark Munster Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 Really dislike this manager more than any other and I’m nearly 60 so seen a few poor managers but this guy takes the biscuit Saggy still holds the crown for me in the dislike stakes. But this thick clown is a close second. Redmond on the left, Tadic centre/right, and a non-scoring "striker" isolated up front. Again. **** me, I detest this bastard.
Wade Garrett Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 He needs to be sacked now. He must be as thick as pigsh*t.
BotleySaint Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 Surely now. But already thought that 3-4 times this season with no action taken.
Supersubpuckett Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 people say he's a nice bloke but I disagree, he has no class - he should have fallen on his sword weeks (months) ago and is simply proving what a bare faced fraudster he is, no pride, no honour....nothing. He just wants his cheque.

It is not like he is likely to get another job as well paid as he is currently any time soon given the disaster he has been. Edited 10 March, 2018 by Matthew Le God
simo Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 Maybe everyone could just simply tweet @Southamptonfc Announce #Pellegrinoout! ?

He just wants his cheque. I don't blame him for not resigning, it's the spineless ****s that should have sacked him in Autumn, Winter and now Spring.
LGTL Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 He is a selfish, arrogant, pathetic, deluded cunt. Hate the bloke.
angelman Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 Just ****ing sack the useless ****. I am not sure that you would get any here who would disagree. Got to ask what the owner is doing. He needs to grow some cojones and get rid of him (and the Chairman at the same time).
hypochondriac Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 I don't blame him at all. Anyone in his position would do the same thing. That said he should have gone in November. It's astounding he is still here.

If you were him would you honestly walk away from millions of pounds in wages... really? It is not like he is likely to get another job as well paid as he is currently any time soon given the disaster he has been. With his ability the best he could hope for is cleaning toilets. He'll never get a pay day remotely close to what he's getting now. He may be thick (really, really thick), but even he is not stupid enough to walk away from what remaining cheques he's still getting (plus the payoff when he eventually gets sacked).

alehouseboys Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 HE’S GOT TO GO . Protest at Wigan next week. I don't think they sell the front rows of seats at Wigan, nice opportunity for banners. Keep 'em clean...ish.
Dellman Posted 10 March, 2018 Posted 10 March, 2018 A lot of calls to sack him, me included, but the owners do the sacking don't they? And where are the owners, do thery even know what is happening?
