Dusic Posted 8 October, 2017 Author Posted 8 October, 2017 I'd play Long, Gabbi, and Austin together. Either 3 upfront, or Gabbi and Austin with Long tucked in for Redmond. We need to score goals, passing the ball with pace around midfield doesn't do us any good, and frankly we just make it very easy for the other team to defend.Playing those 3 together would be a bizarre, dysfunctional forward line.
alpine_saint Posted 9 October, 2017 Posted 9 October, 2017 Well it is now - hes coming back from Eire duty early with an injury.
darren2 Posted 10 October, 2017 Posted 10 October, 2017 Sign this guy up instead! At least he's closer to the target.... http://www.msn.com/en-gb/video/viral/probably-the-worst-open-goal-miss-ever/vi-AAteJgF
Nordic Saint Posted 10 October, 2017 Posted 10 October, 2017 Well it is now - hes coming back from Eire duty early with an injury. Whilst I would wish no marm on any Saints player, this probably improves our chances of scoring goals against Newcastle.
trousers Posted 12 October, 2017 Posted 12 October, 2017 Long is training normally today it would seem...
Micky Posted 12 October, 2017 Posted 12 October, 2017 Long is training normally today it would seem... Without wishing to cast aspersions, but sometimes a minor injury can provide, shall we say, a diplomatic solution. Still .
Dusic Posted 12 October, 2017 Author Posted 12 October, 2017 In a team that has very, very few players with a decent goal record then Shane Long cannot start as the striker. Surely nobody disputes that any longer?
DuncanRG Posted 15 October, 2017 Posted 15 October, 2017 In a team that has very, very few players with a decent goal record then Shane Long cannot start as the striker. Surely nobody disputes that any longer? Well, I'd have a bigger problem with him starting if we had loads of players scoring for fun.
James Posted 15 October, 2017 Posted 15 October, 2017 Wasn't good today. Bar the relatively fortunate penalty I can't remember him touching the ball in the second half. We must be the only team that isn't willing to give our top scorer from last season any kind of chance to show what he can do. He must have spent a fifth of the time Long has on the pitch this year and has already scored.
Dusic Posted 15 November, 2017 Author Posted 15 November, 2017 Confidence must be shot with a 34 year old Daryl Murphy selectes ahead of him for the two biggest Ireland games of the last year. Bordering on being unselectable for me.
SaintMB Posted 15 November, 2017 Posted 15 November, 2017 He's continued to be selected despite having a dry period of Saharan scale, so I'm not sure his international status is going to impact upon things.
Saint_clark Posted 17 November, 2017 Posted 17 November, 2017 Him and Davis will both be massively deflated coming back from the international break.
Micky Posted 18 November, 2017 Posted 18 November, 2017 Him and Davis will both be massively deflated coming back from the international break. Once he's scored a couple of goals today at Anfield he'll get over it. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
suewhistle Posted 18 November, 2017 Posted 18 November, 2017 They'll need to get rid of their frustrations.. Still, we know Long can score at Anfield, but can Davis?:-)
Saint Albert Posted 18 November, 2017 Posted 18 November, 2017 Him and Davis will both be massively deflated coming back from the international break. I imagine that Gabbi won’t be feeling too great as well.
HKsaint Posted 18 November, 2017 Posted 18 November, 2017 I am sure Long can have another clean sheet
