St Chalet Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Thought we should have held out for a draw. The lack of goals is a constant worry.
niceandfriendly Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Shocking going forward, no movement, no clue. We are completely toothless. Nothing has changed from the woeful Puel days.
St Marco Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Reed really has brought in some **** players.
stknowle Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Thought we should have had a draw. The lack of goals is a constant worry. He's going to have to change it. Redmond and Tadic IS NOT WORKING.
DuncanRG Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Neither team deserved to win that, Stoke were lucky but can make goals happen. Properly mad ending.
striker Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 I sure hope we stick with the 4-5-1 next game, we just look pretty playing it. So much pace, which of course is the most important thing.
Saint-Reece Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 We are in serious trouble this season.
James Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Gone backwards under MP. Very worrying as we just don’t look threatening at all. A freak finish from Yoshi doesn’t mask our constant lack of goals. Poor performance and, given the penalty miss, we really were well beaten. Hoping we can scrape to 40 this year as I see absolutely no reason to hope for anything more than that. Sad to see just how far we’ve regressed.
Disco Stu Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Two games in a row we have started with the wrong team and we've paid the price.
Saints foreva Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 ****e result against a very poor team.
obelisk Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 On paper that was one the easiest starts to a season Saints have had for years. On the pitch we're in for a long and frustrating season. Be prepared for the worst.
OttawaSaint Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Manager’s way out of his depth. Same turgid slow sideways no cutting edge **** game after game after game. We are in big trouble. At least with Puel we could defend, now we can’t score, can’t defend and serve up the same Shiite boring slow crap that’s easy for even the weak teams to play against. Spurs, City, Chelsea will tear us a new one if we don’t improve soon.

Pamplemousse Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 We're not in a relegation battle - we'll beat the teams worse than us, but I very much doubt a top half finish is on the cards. 13th is our level at the moment. Maybe scrape 10th if we have a good transfer window in January, and we do our business EARLY.
James Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 He's going to have to change it. Redmond and Tadic IS NOT WORKING. Will probably swap one of them for Ward Prowse which will make no difference. Where is the tactically astute, forward thinking manager we were lauded for appointing by people like Balague? Making Puel look good here.
syd_barrett_saint Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 The way things are going we might as well play Stephens and Hoedt at the back so we can have Yoshida and Van Dijk up front.
GarrettIvo Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Simply can't have Gabbiadini on the bench anymore. It's bizarre. Might as well put VVD up front at this rate. Play Long on the right cause Redmond is useless, and figure out what the hell Bertrand is doing cause I'm not seeing him do much of anything.
Saint_clark Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Looking at the positives - Boufal looked good when he came on. Fingers crossed he gets given a run of starts now, as it's only fair after Redmond and Tadic have been untouchable all season. ...That's about it. Oh, Forster seemed to be coming off his line for balls into the box a lot more.

Maybe scrape 10th if we have a good transfer window in January, and we do our business EARLY. We didn’t been Huddersfield, we didn’t beat Swansea, we didn’t beat Watford and we didn’t beat Stoke...all teams I’d hope to be better than.
warsash saint Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 We need to play for 90 mins like we did in the last 10! Mix it up - we are too predicable otherwise. Bang the ball forward occasionally - too much passing across midfield & then back. Boufel needs to start ahead of Redmond next week.
Avenue_Saint Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 We lost but the team is taking shape and after boufal came on, that was some of the best attacking play I've seen in a long time! Keep the faith. We are taking shape!
S-Clarke Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 I'm still confused as to why 'big' teams want Cedric. I think he's amazingly average, just like the rest of the team to be honest.
alpine_saint Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 The sale of Mane and Pelle in the same window has killed us.
obelisk Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 we'll beat the teams worse than us No evidence to support that assertion so far.
Pamplemousse Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Will probably swap one of them for Ward Prowse which will make no difference. Where is the tactically astute, forward thinking manager we were lauded for appointing by people like Balague? Making Puel look good here. That's the issue - he doesn't have the players available at his disposal. That's an issue with Les Reed. Boufal did make a difference today but he's never been consistent. He has one good game and then the next game has a stinker.

redkeith Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Streaming problems today, but we looked the more likely until Cedric slipped. At least we tried 2 up for while, and Boufal seemed lively.
syd_barrett_saint Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 None of the replays of the Stoke winner went back far enough to show what happened with Cedric. Was he pushed, or did he just f*ck it up himself?
GarrettIvo Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Cedric cost us game. Awful mistake, although I though he was otherwise good. But bugger me what a time to go to ground.
Saint86 Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Massive amount of bed wetting on here. If you are going to apportion blame, start (and stop) with reed and the board.
DuncanRG Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 We're not in a relegation battle - we'll beat the teams worse than us Which ones are those? It's hard to tell at the moment, even though it's demented to be talking about relegation. Massive amount of bed wetting on here. If you are going to apportion blame, start (and stop) with reed and the board. Yeah. We need to play Krueger in the hole, he's useless out wide.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 None of the replays of the Stoke winner went back far enough to show what happened with Cedric. Was he pushed, or did he just f*ck it up himself? Slipped but should have dealt with it before he got in the position
saintadam Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Overreaction to say things have gotten worse. The overall play is quite good and the defense looks solid. But our attacking players are way out of form. Tadic and Redmond are frustrating figures. Calling for Mopos head at this point is utterly stupid.
Pamplemousse Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 No evidence to support that assertion so far. No, other than beating Palace away and beating West Ham... Next 4 games are crucial. Newcastle at home = must win. Draw would not be a good result.
GarrettIvo Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 None of the replays of the Stoke winner went back far enough to show what happened with Cedric. Was he pushed, or did he just f*ck it up himself? He ****ed it up. Ghastly.
alpine_saint Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 I cannot see Gao letting Reed and Mope make him poorer every week for much longer.
badgerx16 Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Spurs, City, Chelsea will tear us a new one if we don’t improve soon. The same way Man Utd did ? ( I know we lost, but we were unlucky ).

Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 He's going to have to change it. Redmond and Tadic IS NOT WORKING. Funny isn't it. He takes Redmond off and 8 mins later we're level. He's a sub at best at the moment. Stick Long in that position, simply because he works his ******** off, and play Gabbi up front. FFS, everybody seems to be able to see where the problem lies except the manager, which is very worrying.
James Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 That's the issue - he doesn't have the players available at his disposal. That's an issue with Les Reed. Boufal did make a difference today but he's never been consistent. He has one good game and then the next game has a stinker. I completely agree that Reed has dropped a b*llock (will probably get told off for criticising him) but MP has to make the best of the squad he has available. We’ve got goalscorers sitting on the bench and a man that now hasn’t scored in 19 games as the one up front. It’s poor management, plain and simple.
Bad Wolf Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 MP is crap. I'd snatch your hand off for 17th.
saintadam Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 (edited) Which ones are those? It's hard to tell, even though it's demented to be talking about relegation. CP, Newcastle, Huddersfield, Brighton, West ham under Bilic are way worse than us. Then there are 3-4 on par at this point. We are a mid table team. Edited 30 September, 2017 by saintadam spelling
OttawaSaint Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 No doubt we’ll get fed a video of Tadic and Boufal scoring beautiful free kicks in training and Redmond and Bertrand blasting in past Stuart Taylor, smiles all round as Davis shows awareness and calmness to slot home. We’ll get a Cedric says “we need to work as a team” article and all will be gravy until next game when clueless MP shoehorns the wrong players into the wrong formation and we pass back to the halfway line every time we get into a threatening position. A couple of panic substitutions where we have 5 up front all swinging aimlessly at the ball in stoppage time should tie us over and give a glimmer of excitement until the next borefest of synchronized laziness from Tadic and his best pal Cedric down the right.
saintadam Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 MP is crap. I'd snatch your hand off for 17th. We are 12th so you must be delighted.
verlaine1979 Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Boufal gave the ball away twice that I counted, but in 20 minutes on the pitch showed more creativity and intent than either Redmond or Tadic have all season. Absolultely mind-blowing conservatism from the manager that he'd rather persist with the 'senior' players established under his predecessors than take a risk with the line-up to try and address our woeful attacking.
