qwertyell Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 H/T 0-1. We created two chances: Redmond - who has been hopeless - put through and meekly scuffing wide, and Long drawing a save from Butland close in where he should've done better. Aside from that, we've been sloppy all over the park. Van Dijk's barely interested - playing like he's doing us a favour. Romeu is still out of sorts. Cedric's been poor going both ways. The only reason we're even still in the game is Forster, who is having an excellent game. It's going to need another stark second half transformation like last week if we've got any chance of getting something here. As things stand, I can't see us a) breaking them down or b) not conceding again. Troubling times.
Disco Stu Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Beggars belief our two highest goal scoring strikers from last season are on our bench whilst Long who hasn't scored since February is leading our line... And for Christs sake Saints, ****ING SHOOT!
LuckyNumber7 Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 MP looking just as stubborn and negative as Puel. It's madness to keep persisting with this shape and personnel when it has already proved so ineffective. Can't believe Gabbi is again left on the bench while the chocolate teapot Redmond plays AGAIN. Honestly where are the goals coming from?
hackedoff Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Game over - we really are s***e. IF Pellegrini is a step up from CLaude Puel I'm a f*****g CHinaman. The guy is clueless - we are much worse than last year and are truly awful. Make no mistake we are in a relegation battle this year. WTF have Tadic and Redmond got to do to be dropped? Or Davis? Birtles has it spot on ..... we are so easy to play against as our midfield is static and whoever plays up front is totally isolated. When we have the ball it is sideways, sideways backwards and about as much cutting edge as a blunt knife. Why could we have not recruited someone who at least wants to play attacking football rather than this s***e that is being served up Yep, anyone who thinks that this is just a blip and things will suddenly fall into place are tards. This team is going to go through the bottom of this league quicker than a vindaloo through a baby.
Saint86 Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Redmond and Tadic are simply not good enough. The end.
geoffnut Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Nothing has changed this season, relegation form already.
gammon cheeks Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Get boufal on and give him free role

OttawaSaint Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 The feed I’m watching is showing goals from last week in all the games. Other teams scoring goals. Must be nice. But what strikes me is how quickly teams move the ball and shoot as soon as an opening presents itself. We are so low on confidence we just can’t seem to just let it happen and really try to force an easy unmissable chance.

Wes Tender Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 V-VD has been good apart from giving away the penalty, which was pretty soft, but naturally any striker is going to go down at the merest touch, so don't touch them. We have been dominant for most of the half, but lack the cutting edge up front. Please can we take off Redmond and bring on Gabbiadini to replace him?

hasper57saint Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 I said before we kicked off that Redmond and Tadic should not start but Gabbi and Boufal should.Sounds like we are c.r.a.p as usual.
Pamplemousse Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Let’s hope the second half falls into the same pattern as last week, and we come out and up the tempo. Of course, with the addition of a couple of goals.
obelisk Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Just got in. Saints nil again. Not sure why i bother. Got a bad feeling about this season.
Pamplemousse Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Was that Forster applauding the Stoke fans then??
washsaint Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 We are a better team than last year. You have got to be kidding me right? Last year we employed similar tactics but looked defensively way stronger. This year we have been poor from the get go and continued that way with no change in tactics and dropping Gabbi who had zero service for a guy who couldn;t score in a brothel.
hackedoff Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 We are a better team than last year. In which case we will finish higher than last season then. People really do have low standards, do you work for Saints or something ?
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Nothing in that with LONG... just a collision
qwertyell Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 The highlighted bit is garbage but rest is fair commentHyperbole, probably - he has made a couple of decent last ditch challenges. But I would argue his demeanor and general strolling-about-ness is in marked contrast to last season's Van Dijk, and those last ditch challenges have been required as a result of him being caught out of position first, or just playing too casually. Anyway, second half is up - let's turn this ship around... somehow. Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk
OttawaSaint Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Players must be frustrated mind. I know I am, feels like I’ve been watching the same game since February. Last decent performance was the cup final.
5string Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Doesn't matter whether we're 'a better team' or not. We're not playing better because we're not scoring goals.
Saint_clark Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 How the **** has the ref given the freekick their way
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 How the **** has the ref given the freekick their way Most of them
Saints foreva Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Still yet to see this high pressing that MP likes....
Nordic Saint Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Beggars belief our two highest goal scoring strikers from last season are on our bench whilst Long who hasn't scored since February is leading our line... And for Christs sake Saints, ****ING SHOOT! This is Long's 17th Premier League game since he last scored in the league v Sunderland last year, so maybe Old Les and Pellegrino think he is due one.
OttawaSaint Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Still yet to see this high pressing that MP likes.... The first game seemed different but the rest have been puelesque with interesting possibilities and not much goal action.
5string Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Good reffing - could've booked Redmond there. Redmond is being an idiot. Replace him. And now Tadic booked for dreadful play.
washsaint Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Bloody Tadic - why the hell can't MP see that this guy needs a spell out of the team?
Pamplemousse Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 We seem to have out this second half and we’re playing even worse now. Early changes please MP!!
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Sloppy all over the pitch, except with FF
Saints foreva Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 We've turned into a nothing team. We've been like that since the club failed to replace Mane and Pelle.
SaintZamboni Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 What an idiot Tadic is Agreed. The guy offers nothing. Cedric was demanding he make a forward run in the first half. He's too easy to manage and makes life more difficult for us by slowing play down.
OttawaSaint Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Sideways back sideways back ffs drive the ball forward, run at them!
5string Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Ok that was better. Decent cross from Cedric (for a change), good header, just over from Long.
Saint Albert Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Good ball from Soares finally and Long heads it over the crossbar.
Shanghai Saint Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 You see this **** and wonder why any player would want to stay with us!
Saint_clark Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 These commos are starting to annoy me with "Swaresh".
scotty Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 I got back from work ten minutes ago. Have we been this poor all game?
Suhari Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Got to make changes soon. Boufal and Gabbi for Tadic and Redmond please!
VectisSaint Posted 30 September, 2017 Posted 30 September, 2017 Good reffing - could've booked Redmond there. Redmond is being an idiot. Replace him. And now Tadic booked for dreadful play. Can you be booked for dreadful play? If so surprised we haven't had more yellows this season.
