Saint_clark Posted 15 January, 2009 Share Posted 15 January, 2009 It was in one of the papers that Newcastle are trying to sign Quashie.

Saints67 Posted 15 January, 2009 Share Posted 15 January, 2009 speculation on bbc 606 that giovanni dos santos is a target.... The lad at Chelsea? I like the cut of his jib. I reckon we could knock the rough edges of him and turn him into a superstar.

labibs Posted 15 January, 2009 Share Posted 15 January, 2009 The man was playing for Barcelona last season (admittedly only sporadically in the first team) and was tipped as the new Ronaldinho a few years ago. I don't think there is a chance in hell of him coming to play for us, not a chance. I see there has been no mention of Anthony Gerrard so far this window, I guess we have been priced out fo a move (or our interest has waned). I see it like this, if we can get Keegan, we can get anyone, except Kaka.
Chez Posted 15 January, 2009 Share Posted 15 January, 2009 Brown - Wigan Whitehead - Sunderland Baird - Fulham they all seem just, well just a little beyond 2nd bototm in the CCC. Baird's connection with the club make him a candidate. Another thing to consider is that players going on 4 month loans won't really want to move from the North to Southampton if they can help it n- and there are plenty of northern CCC sides as alternatives. Chez Posted 15 January, 2009 Share Posted 15 January, 2009 He was but I don't know if Birmingham have extended or indeed if West Ham want to cash in on him - and another player from 04/05 Callum Davenport. It was a story in one of the broadsheets but Kinnear has bid for 2 French players now so may have lost his interest. see post #43. I would expect Brum to sign him should West Ham be open to a deal. As much as I liked Quashie when he was here, his display at QPR when he decided he was going to leave still leaves me fuming.

I see it like this, if we can get Keegan, we can get anyone, except Kaka. I can't see Spurs signing Surman, he's not an arry player at all IMO and after Nugent and Bale both flopped in front of him I think he would be weary iof a CCC player. Arry looks for finished items rather than work in progress, plus he is looking at £10m midfield signings from Wigan. Lallana is different IMO as he is more in the Wiltshire/Ramsey mould. Whether anyone is willng to pay the £5-6m Ramsey costs is another matter.

I see it like this, if we can get Keegan, we can get anyone, except Kaka. I don't think the player himself would come. When he first joined Spurs he admitted it represented a step down for him from Barca, but that he was confident that Spurs could be up there challenging for Champion's League qualification! Now in addition to him clearly being deluded, this was only 6 months ago. Now way is he going to fancy turning out for a club at the bottom of the CCC. I would agree that spurs may fancy letting him come to us, but I suspect he would laugh them out of town when presented with the prospect. Lupoli seems a bit more likely, hopefully this doesn't mean bye bye to Saga

Brown used to play for Spurs. He's just the sort of combative midfielder we need. He's the only player i've seen nearly get sent off in a testimonial. Can tackle, pass and shoot.
