Alan McAnally saying on SSN that Lemina is bossing the whole show, seems really impressed with him..........

He's right. He is.

Tadic is enjoying getting the ball from him early, in space, so he can 'do his thing'.

Lemina should play every week on this evidence

I think he will. The reason he didn't play against Watford was he'd just travelled back from Gabon.

Apparently Saints need to keep a clean sheet for another 39 minutes to help Palace break a PL record - time for 0 goals scored at the start of the season (438 mins currently, Newcastle).

Come on!

Cedric getting in good crossing positions, but not crossing well.

At half time, Redmond off, maybe Boufal on? Or JWP?

Please, not Ward-Prowse. We always play so much better when he's not on the pitch. If he does come on as sub, he'll turn the game in Palace's favour.

Decent. Tidy team performance so far.

Redmond the weak link: he's done very little. Would like to see Boufal given a chance for the second half.

Do think we'll need to score another though.

Townsend shinned it from a decent chance.

We're still letting them in for too many proper chances (a better team would take advantage).

Yoshida clattered - like lots of our players today! Palace being a bit dirty.

Half Time. 1-0 will do.

Really solid. but seeing how well Lemina and Hoedt play has made it even more obvious how poor Redmond and Tadic are at the minute.

Tadic made the goal. Redmond and Tadic aren't there to make us solid!

Saints looking very comfortable and well in control but rather strangely Palace look more dangerous on the few occasions that they threaten the Saints goal. There could be more goals for Saints but build up is slow.

I think you're right.

Wrong side for him anyway - Tadic would need to switch to the left to fit JWP on the right. I wouldn't change Tadic at the moment.

Boufal then. Or even Gabbi? Or would that spoil the balance we have today?

Lemina is quality.

He really is; the real bright spot so far - he and Romeu are the right combination. Long hasn't done badly but this game is crying out for Gabbiadini - there has been a bit of service today and Gabbi is the player to take advantage. Hoedt, Davis, Bertrand, Cedric, Romeu all good, but Lemina is a class above.

Oh, yawn...

I've been here from the first minute.

We havent won this game yet

Phew. Good to see you sir. Was starting to get worried there for a moment. ;)

Redmond frustrates me a lot, but they've both been decent today. Think Redmond is at his best when he is 'buzzing' around, coming inside, looking for the ball. When he stays wide he is quite one dimensional - slows things down but then doesn't ever find a cutting pass (at least Tadic stops and dallies because he is looking to eventually do something good).

Palace haven't been great but vs Watford and this performance so far is like night and day. Shows that these players are capable of doing the right things with the right setup. Let's hope we can keep it going in the second half.

Is it me or is there a certain group of posters absent from this thread so far today...? ;)

The group leader is away licking his wounds after getting spectacularly owned on the defector thread the other day.

A good first half from us, bossing possession in the midfield and spreading the ball well. Lemina shows us why he should have played against Watford and has a great partnership with Romeu. Hoedt has made some great long diagonal passes to Tadic, who is proving a handful out wide on the right with Cedric. Redmond hasn't forged the same partnership with Bertrand. Davis is better further forward

Davis made and scored the goal

That said I do agree, Tadic and Redmond aren't there to be solid, they're there to create.

Long has been his pain in the arse self.

Watching this on many screens in O'Connors Irish bar in Caleta, Fuertaventura in my colours as I did last week for the dire game against Watford, and I'm pleasantly surprised so far. Not brilliant but we've played quite well. Well worked goal. Lemina bossing it. What a signing he looks, Hoedt too with his vision. Long working like a beeyatch up front too. Palace will score, I just have a feeling, so we really need to get two or three.

Good stuff so far. I'll take 1-0 as a final score thank you very much!

Hot here. Need more beer. :)

Definitely an improved performance so far. Though i've been critical of him recently Davis has been having a good game (and not just because of the goal). Lemina the big plus for me though, really giving us a bit of impetus to go forward rather than just happy to sit with it at the back which is just what we've needed.
