Good decision by Pelligrino, like this team. Long is much better than Gabbiadini in the air, will hold it up better and run the channels better. Our style sadly just doesn't suit Gabbiadini and so when playing one up top it should always be Long or Austin.

We're getting into situations where a better team would have won the ball off us, but we're getting lucky and it's just rebounding back/through to us...need to cut that out and improve some of our passing.

He put it in the one place it wouldn't be saved or blocked you nutter! If he'd put it in the centre the defender was going that way, hence being unable to stretch back to where he actually placed it.

That ball from Redmond back to Romeu is everything I don't like about him. He's right down by the by-line and instead of trying to beat his man and getting a possible cross or corner, he passes it back deep and central to a position we're never going to score from.

Long way to go yet but so far it has demonstrated how important it is to have a good defensive midfield partner for Romeu. Lemina is playing well, I don't recall Davis or JWP having such an influence from that position.

Lemina instead of David or jwp shows the impact on our game. Having said that Davis is having a solid game further forward! Credit where it's due but not a surprise against a flat and sterile palace midfield

Needed to be quicker from Redmond then. That being said, if Long bent his runs fractionally, he'd save himself from being caught offside when the ball isn't timed to perfection.
