Lighthouse Posted 16 September, 2017 Author Posted 16 September, 2017 Boufal again gets a start then dropped. Sell him if we aren't going to actually bother starting him. Has Boufal ever actually created a goal for anyone? I vaguely remember him having a touch in one of J Rod's goals at Bournemouth but that's about it. Bringing Long back will add more tempo to our game How does giving away offsides and goal kicks equate to tempo?
GarrettIvo Posted 16 September, 2017 Posted 16 September, 2017 I reckon the extra security of Lemina in the middle means we shoule be able to get forward more. Problem is I wouldn't have much faith in any of our front four to hit the net.
Batman Posted 16 September, 2017 Posted 16 September, 2017 Redmond has been crap for a while. he is due the one good game defeat today and the worry will set in going for 2-1 to saints
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 16 September, 2017 Posted 16 September, 2017 So we persist with the out of form Tadic and Redmond. Is our squad really that weak in the attacking positions? Hopefully with Long back we'll be on the front foot. #bringbackthepress Letting Gallagher go on loan is already looking a bad decision especially as we did not replace him
5string Posted 16 September, 2017 Posted 16 September, 2017 (edited) What's the shape of that midfield, then? 'Y-Fronts' -------Romeu------- --Davis----Lemina-- --Tadic----Redmond-- or 'Star' --Romeu---Lemina-- -------Davis-------- Tadic---------Redmond or 'Trench Warfare' Tadic--Davis--Romeu--Lemina--Redmond (names interchangeable, positions for illustrative purposes only) Edited 16 September, 2017 by 5string added small print to avoid trolling
Donatello Posted 16 September, 2017 Posted 16 September, 2017 Bench looks a little negative, but I guess we don't really have any other options until Sims is back. *cough* shouldn't have loaned Gallagher *cough*
IN MY DAY Posted 16 September, 2017 Posted 16 September, 2017 All positive stuff on here today from the diehards.
max_saints Posted 16 September, 2017 Posted 16 September, 2017 The tone of the build up thread indicates it's gonna be a comfortable win for us today, the power of SWF!
beatlesaint Posted 16 September, 2017 Posted 16 September, 2017 Letting Gallagher go on loan is already looking a bad decision especially as we did not replace him well not really, he would still be left isolated up front on his own like Gabbiadini, Austin and in about 30 mins Long will be.
vectraman Posted 16 September, 2017 Posted 16 September, 2017 Palace haven't scored all season. We can't score for toffee. Surely, logic says a nailed on 0-0 draw?! Not that football is logical ever!
hypochondriac Posted 16 September, 2017 Posted 16 September, 2017 All positive stuff on here today from the diehards.Hardly surprising given the performances recently.

Toadhall Saint Posted 16 September, 2017 Posted 16 September, 2017 Hardly surprising given the performances recently. When the going gets tough SWF can't handle it.

hypochondriac Posted 16 September, 2017 Posted 16 September, 2017 When the going gets tough SWF can't handle it.I don't think giving a pessimistic prediction based on what has happened before equates to not being able to handle it.
Toadhall Saint Posted 16 September, 2017 Posted 16 September, 2017 I don't think giving a pessimistic prediction based on what has happened before equates to not being able to handle it. This whole place reeks of negativity not just this thread. Nothing new but just a little tiresome.
SaintAndy14 Posted 16 September, 2017 Posted 16 September, 2017 Pleased to see Long starting again, purely for the fact that he will hopefully stretch the defence and chase everything down. It comes to something, though, when I'm pleased to see a striker start who hasn't scored in 16 matches! Just hoping to see some meaningful attacking intent today. Money is on a draw, however. 1-1 or 2-2.
Golac's Iron Gonads Posted 16 September, 2017 Posted 16 September, 2017 I hope those going and the Palace fans give Hodgson the welcome he deserves on his triumphant return to English football after leading the national team to a 2-1 defeat against Iceland which wasn't even his most serious crime* *Wilshere not only being named in the squad but actually getting on the pitch against Iceland
davefoggy Posted 16 September, 2017 Posted 16 September, 2017 I hope this works for MP's sake. I really do.. 3 defenders on the bench......
Lighthouse Posted 16 September, 2017 Author Posted 16 September, 2017 This whole place reeks of negativity not just this thread. Nothing new but just a little tiresome. 5 games in 1 goal which wasn't a penalty. Failed to score in 4/5, all against mediocre to poor opposition. Conceded twice at home in 3/4 games. 13th after the easiest start we could possibly have hoped for. I dread to think where we'll end up when we've played some good teams.
Suhari Posted 16 September, 2017 Posted 16 September, 2017 Letting Gallagher go on loan is already looking a bad decision especially as we did not replace him And there was talk of Long leaving too. Wonder if we have a recall clause with Gallagher?
Cabrone Posted 16 September, 2017 Posted 16 September, 2017 Austin knee injury apparently Bad news. Down to 1 proper goal scorer who isn't even being picked apparently. Goals are so overrated anyway. Probably win 6-5 now and Shane will get a hat-trick Nothing would make me happier BTW.

Gingeletiss Posted 16 September, 2017 Posted 16 September, 2017 You have to believe, or what is the point. That said, what price a Palace goal in the first ten minutes! COYS's
