jawillwill Posted 9 September, 2017 Posted 9 September, 2017 Does anyone know if it should be possible to plug a router in to any phone socket in the house? Reason I ask is that ours only works in one of them, which annoyingly is the other side of the room I want it (is there such a thing as a 'master' socket which it must be plugged in to?). I could just feed a long ethernet cable all around the room, but seems a bit of a faff...

You can pay BT to change which is the master socket or get some powerline extenders - thats the cheapest option.
scotty Posted 9 September, 2017 Posted 9 September, 2017 Does it actually matter nowadays? I can't remember the last time I plugged anything directly into the router, surely wifi is fast enough now?
