Ohio Saint Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 According to the OS, neither side has completed any passes yet. Wow! That's bad!!!!
trousers Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 Wow I forgot how depressing this place can be during a match! You must have an extremely short memory...
Ohio Saint Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 You must have an extremely short memory... What does this match have written all over it? Now would be a good time.
trousers Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 What does this match have written all over it?Losing 3-5 on penalties?
mrfahaji Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 What does this match have written all over it? Now would be a good time. Not 0-0 now...
BotleySaint Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 Yes, we look very flat and boring tonight. Need to mix it up and try and get back into it.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 Jeez...thank the fook I didn't pay to see this game. Reckon we could easily lose...too much mediocrity on the pitch and the bench is not much better.
DrunkenSaint Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 wolves well on top at the mo Dave saying the shape has not worked tonight that's why we should of done our transfers early doors to test things in pre season, I think the shape is fine its the players that don't fit it.
SaintAndy14 Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 That was a pathetic goal to concede, looked like a Sunday muck about in the park.
Saint_clark Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 Jeez...thank the fook I didn't pay to see this game. Reckon we could easily lose...too much mediocrity on the pitch and the bench is not much better. ...it's literally our first team squad.
Edmonton Saint Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 Oh great goal machine Redmond is coming on.
djharvey Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 We're not going to get £75m for VVD. If we sell then £75m is very achievable in light of the other crazy fees go around!
DT Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 Wembley may not be on Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Saint Fan CaM Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 ...it's literally our first team squad. AND?
Batman Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 A header in the box, what a surprise. Yoshida will probably get MoM again
Saint_clark Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 AND? We've lost one player from last season...and we haven't even actually lost him.
mrfahaji Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 that's why we should of done our transfers early doors to test things in pre season, I think the shape is fine its the players that don't fit it. Not always that easy. I'm happy that we've got a DM and a CB who are intended to be starters, both in time to play in August. It's not ideal but you can't have it all - I'm just glad we signed a couple of players we need! Obviously going out the cup will be a shame as it's a chance gone to experience Wembley again. But even if we didn't go all the way, it's also a good chance for the younger/fringe players to get some competitive game time, so disappointing they're not going to get that if we don't get this back.
Professor Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 It's going to take some winning now. Poor performance, sloppy play and failure to refresh the team when it was clear it wasn't working. Not making a change until the 70th minute is horses and stable doors. It's not yet too late but the job is much harder.
simo Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 I nearly took the boy tonight for a birthday "treat" , I'm glad I never he's been quite a good lad this year !
SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 Have we brought back Puel, for the cup games!!
Pamplemousse Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 We have to sort out these defensive aerial battles. Simply not good enough. Man Utd, for example, will kill us next month.
Ohio Saint Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 Yoshida will probably get MoM again Please get over it.
saint1977 Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 That was coming - best side is ahead and that's their second string as well. Shocking to concede like that with 3 CBs. Bednarak needs a loan spell in League One - on this evidence would struggle equally in the Championship. Hope he is a long term bet otherwise that's £6m down the bog. Polish fans on here warned he wasn't ready. Tadic having a shocker as well, Boufal in and out of the game first half and very poor this half. JWP poor as well, Romeu on his own far too often. Feel a bit sorry for Austin, no service, isn't a player that is going to drop deep or run channels. Long needs to be on.
trousers Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 Statistically, we were unlikely to get to the same final two years in the trot so at least we can concentrate on the FA Cup now. #everycloud
Saints foreva Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 We have to sort out these defensive aerial battles. Simply not good enough. Man Utd, for example, will kill us next month. We got very lucky that Andy Carroll was injured at the weekend.
shurlock Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 Bednarek off. Not been at the races. Change should have been made earlier.
saint1977 Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 Zero movement from Forster. What a surprise. Shouldn't be conceding like that from a set piece with 3 CBs regardless.
Pamplemousse Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 At least we don't have to get up at 4am to watch the draw
SuperSAINT Posted 23 August, 2017 Author Posted 23 August, 2017 Bednarek off. Not been at the races. Change should have been made earlier. Which is very worrying. Started very sloppily at the start of both halves.
qwertyell Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 Going to be a long season, folks. We couldn't have had a much easier start - three home games in a row against relegation fodder, 10 men and a Championship 2nd XI - but we've struggled in every match. I wouldn't be confident of that trend changing away to Huddersfield (another soft fixture) at the weekend.

SKD Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 Bednarek off. Not been at the races. Change should have been made earlier. Ive yet to see anything to suggest he will ever be at the races. What a waste of money.

Deserved to win against Swansea and deserved the win against West Ham (even if we did let a 2-0 lead slip against 10 men, we were still the better team)
Wimborne_saint Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 Long and Gabbi on, Boufal and Austin off
SNSUN Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 Mickey Mouse cup etc At least it seems Saints are looking for an attacker. It's been clear since the start of the year that we lack something in attack, a number 10 that can shoot. If only there were a Mané-esque gem out there waiting to be snapped up... Still think we can snatch extra time, but it doesn't sound like a good game...

I understand making some changes but I really don't get the ones he's made tonight. We look ****ing terrible.
saint1977 Posted 23 August, 2017 Posted 23 August, 2017 Bednarek off. Not been at the races. Change should have been made earlier. Needs loaning out. Not sure he'd get a game at one of the better League One outfits like Plymouth or Bradford though. Could try MK - they've already got Seager. A couple of games up against some of the big lumps at that level would do him some good. Not sure lending him to one of the Championship strugglers like PNE or Bolton will help his confidence.
