shurlock Posted 21 August, 2017 Share Posted 21 August, 2017 the over rated, past it Wayne rooney scores another big goal for Everton Is that meant to be ironic and self-deprecating? You've been banging the drum on here for years that Rooney is past it, that successive managers are too scared to drop him etc.

S-Clarke Posted 21 August, 2017 Share Posted 21 August, 2017 Harsh 2nd, but this is a very astute tactical masterclass by Koeman. Pep's teams didn't have any idea to this sort of tactic last year either...

igsey Posted 21 August, 2017 Share Posted 21 August, 2017 Watching City feels a lot like watching Southampton last year - lots of possession, passing around the box but nobody wants to shoot, and of course conceding against the run of play when the opponent first attacks. Pamplemousse Posted 21 August, 2017 Share Posted 21 August, 2017 Everton got what they deserved, far too negative. They tried to kill the game by time wasting, and it backfired. City were there for the taking.
Pass the Dutchie Posted 21 August, 2017 Share Posted 21 August, 2017 Getting a point from City is a good result though. I'd take that.

I wouldn't have called that negative, just a very clever and disciplined tactical performance

igsey Posted 22 August, 2017 Share Posted 22 August, 2017 He is. Why would someone change their minds after 2 goals rather than the evidence of a few years? Would be an absolute joke if he ends up back in the england squad when they're supposed to be planning for the future. Rooney will get a few goals being the main striker again but he's just a very expensive version of someone like troy deeney now.I agree, but I guarantee he'll be in the next England squad. And probably made captain and play every minute. Sent from my ZTE A2017U using Tapatalk

doddisalegend Posted 22 August, 2017 Share Posted 22 August, 2017 city are just a strange club now They were talking about this on talk****e last night apparently city now have an area of the pitch were fans can pay to stand next to the players during the warm up and get autographs and selfies (all for a fee of course) pretty weird if true. S-Clarke Posted 22 August, 2017 Share Posted 22 August, 2017 city are just a strange club now Their new tunnel thing is absolutely bizarre. Have you seen the rest? They have one way glass, so people in 'hospitality' can see the players lining up in the tunnel - but the players just see themselves. They also have a red carpet catwalk style entrance for the players on match day. Absolutle gimmicks. Shame they can't win games.
lickierambert Posted 22 August, 2017 Share Posted 22 August, 2017 city are just a strange club now This is a player who got a full back tattoo of himself scoring in a champions league last 16 tie they lost, so maybe they shouldn't expect the most well rounded individual
