Lighthouse Posted 14 August, 2017 Share Posted 14 August, 2017 How about some pleasant nostalgia over the last 8 years (and a month or two) 8th August 2009 - Our first game under the new regime - Millwall at home The team for that game: Davis Murty - Thomas - Perry - Harding James - Wotton - Morgan - Lallana Saganowski - Patterson Subs: Bart, Lancashire, Gillett, Holmes, Pulis, Gobern, Thomson Things started sluggishly and even without the minus 10 we were in the relegation zone until October. Then, after losing 3-2 in injury time at home to Bristol Rovers, we turned it around with a 4-1 thumping of Gillingham. Since then we've risen like a Saturn 5 rocket to where we are today. For me the best moments were: - Watching Long score at Anfield at an apres ski bar in January this year. Absolutely bananas - Winning the JPT - Going on the pitch when we were promoted from League 1 after beating Walsall on the last day. - Listening to the radio commentary of the Coventry game and thinking I'd give a kidney to be there. - Forte's 2.5 minutes of fame against MK Dons - Winning away at Millwall with 2 penalties in injury time - Lambert's header at Fratton Park - Winning 1-0 at Old Trafford - Winning 1-0 at Old Trafford again. This time we snatched it at the death. - Billy Sharp's last minute goal against Pompey - The away day at Sunderland when we got a late equaliser to all but secure safety. - Cuco's screamer and beating Arsenal 4-0 (another apres ski bar special for me) - Coming from 2-0 down against Liverpool to win at the death (and again, I should ski more often) - Gabbi's equaliser at Wembley - The 8-0 win against Sunderland, I almost lost my voice. - Only getting to 7 home games in 2014/15 but winning all of them. The low points - Markus' passing away - Making the long trip to Boro, going 1-0 up in the first minute, knowing a win would promote us after Reading drew and f**king it up. - Going out of Europe so weakly against Midgetland and Be'er Sheva - David F**king Norris
Chewy Posted 14 August, 2017 Share Posted 14 August, 2017 While not strictly my best and worst moments ... Good Dani Osvaldo turning kompany inside out, leaving him on his backside and curling the ball into the top corner with complete precision. Bad Finding out he'd gone mental and would never play for us again!
SaintSeb Posted 14 August, 2017 Share Posted 14 August, 2017 Fonte's last gasp goal against Brighton has to be up there too.
Alain Perrin Posted 14 August, 2017 Share Posted 14 August, 2017 A 42(? might be an exaggeration) move against a club (MK Dons?) when we were in League 1 which culminated in a goal by Lambert or possibly Lee Barnard. Unfortunately I have a crap memory for these things.

(also how close Guly was to a hat-trick in this match ... scored 2 and hit inside of the post)
RonManager Posted 14 August, 2017 Share Posted 14 August, 2017 David Connolly's goal that put us 3-1 up at Oldham and finally lifted us of the bottom of L1.
NorthamSteve Posted 15 August, 2017 Share Posted 15 August, 2017 Connolly vs Boro I think? (also how close Guly was to a hat-trick in this match ... scored 2 and hit inside of the post) 3-0 and SRL didn't score. These days of turning up to home games knowing full well I was about to see goals and a win were the best days. Toomer Posted 15 August, 2017 Share Posted 15 August, 2017 One that I will always remember is Markus taking pictures at the JPT final at Wembley.
