Carabao Cup? WTF! It's the English Football League Cup, or League Cup for short. If Carabao wishes to sponsor the tournament, fine -- but why put their name on the tournament itself? Commercialism run rampant.

The FA had the correct idea, when it decided to remove sponsorship title rights from the Premier League. They said they wanted a "clean" brand. Damn right!

It's happened before, Carling Cup anyone? Pretty sure last season was the first time in ages it was just called the League Cup.

Can someone explain why Newport County in North Group yet Wolves in South Group ?

Newport, like West Ham, can't play at home ( but because of the pitch and not puking athletes). They couldn't have them both in the South, in case they were drawn together.

Milk Cup for me.

As for Carabao, no idea what it is and not going to look it up either. I seem to have got to my grumpy age without coming across it, so I am sure that I can carry on without it.

That just made me think of the night we played Wolves in the Milk Cup at the Dell, being the Milk Cup Unigate were out in force promoting themselves off the back of it. Half time pretty ladies appeared in front of the Milton Road end and threw promotional mini cartons of Milk to the fans (who has these brain farts??!!). Trolleys emptied they disappeared. Just before the players came back out 2 coppers came along the cinder track in front of the Milton, one a normal Bobby the other a more senior rank as they got towards the goal it started raining mini milk cartons.... all open obviously! As the goal approached the Bobby saw what what coming and walked across the penalty box, the Boss walked between the net and the crowd at which point the milk shower got a bit heavier, milk cartons hitting the net and spinning their contents over the Copper. Fair play to him he didn't quicken his pace and was grinning as he approached the West Stand corner.

“Carabao” is an energy drink that was inspired by the fighting spirit of an individual. It is more than a global energy drink, it is the empowerment to accomplish personal goals.

Carabao symbolizes the spirit of individuals who fight for the cause they believe in. Not by force, but with determination, hence the slogan: “ The Fighting Spirit of Carabao”

Empowerment to accomplish personal goals!! What a load of tosh. I suspect that it is mainly sugar with a good dose of caffeine, so I might as well have a sweet cup of coffee.

I think if you had done that it may detract from the intended flavour.

We should prioritise this competition. Play our strongest team. Best chance we'll have of winning something. It won't happen.

I reckon we should adopt the same tactics as last year. Seemed to work quite well :)

I remember that, having actually caught one of the cartons, it was dispatched forthwith, back toward the rozzers

D'ya know, it was only two days ago I was able to bring myself to watch highlights of the cup final. Good god, were we robbed. Goal disallowed, hit the post, ball TWICE flashed across the goal begging to be tapped in...heart break all over again.

And that's the reason for having north and south groups.

"The draw, which remains seeded and unseeded, has been regionalised to avoid a fixture scheduling complication involving West Ham United and Newport County, who have both been given special dispensation by the EFL Board to play their Round Two ties away from their home grounds."

Wouldn't it have been simpler to have a regular non-regionalised draw, and in the unlikely event West Ham and Newport were drawn against each other, they would play the match on a neutral ground somewhere in between? Or is that too ****ing sensible?
