Pilchards Posted 3 August, 2017 Share Posted 3 August, 2017 + Boufal looks promising Bertrand and Soares staying Players on long term contracts Nice kits Good publicity from Virgin media - Lack of goals at home Captain wants out Forster is weak Another manager Lack of spending Not replacing Jayrod Club up for sale
hutch Posted 3 August, 2017 Share Posted 3 August, 2017 Is the club "up for sale"? Genuine question. I know the owner is prepared to sell at the right price to the right buyer, but I don't see that as being the same thing. My house isn't up for sale, but if somebody makes me a bloody good offer I would sell it.
mrfahaji Posted 3 August, 2017 Share Posted 3 August, 2017 Surely "another manager" is a positive if you didn't like the previous one?

Heisenberg Posted 3 August, 2017 Share Posted 3 August, 2017 I'm looking forward to seeing a full season of Gabbiadini up front, and hopefully Redmond and Boufal fulfilling their potential. Gabbi is an interesting one and could easily go either way i fear. Arrived in a blaze of glory, but then went 7 games without scoring or looking like scoring. Obviously needs service and our supply chain seems lacking right now. Mcqueen, Sims and Stephens on my watch list. Think all 3 have the potential to be great. mrfahaji Posted 3 August, 2017 Share Posted 3 August, 2017 Hardly stability having 3 managers in 2 years. That's being economical with time. If a manager lasts 1 season it's necessarily true that you'll have had 3 managers in 2 years, if you pick your points in time correctly. We'd all like to have a fantastic manager who never leaves, but I'd rather the manager changed regularly and we continued to finish in the top half than keep the same man who secures us 15th every season. Also, "not replacing Jay Rod". We have replaced him with Gallagher. And even if Gallagher isn't up to it, it doesn't really matter because Rodriguez was terrible. "Lack of goals at home" - we haven't even kicked off the season yet, give them a chance! I'll add some negatives to the list - Our central midfield is awful, our overall team is short and lightweight, we are currently relying on 1 average and 1 inexperienced/unproven player at centre back. We ended last season badly, partly due to players, partly due to manager (arguably). The club appear to think it was purely down to the manager and are about to have a rude awakening.
