captain sensible Posted 30 July, 2017 Posted 30 July, 2017 Managed to get through it in three hours straight! Riviting read and great insight into the Saints legend.
Gis Posted 30 July, 2017 Posted 30 July, 2017 Great read on so many levels, football, racing, but most of all father son relationship. Recommended to all. Have a listen to Episode 3 of this link as well http://saintsfcpod.libsyn.com
Tom & Gerry Posted 30 July, 2017 Posted 30 July, 2017 It's very funny in parts and grim and sad in others. A great read.
captain sensible Posted 30 July, 2017 Author Posted 30 July, 2017 Great read on so many levels, football, racing, but most of all father son relationship. Recommended to all. Have a listen to Episode 3 of this link as well http://saintsfcpod.libsyn.com Yes, the Father/Son relationship was the most intriguing...although I would say not uncommon. You basically do as yer Dad tells you...or you suffer the consequences...and the young Channon falls foul of the "law" on many an occasion. The advice not to show any weakness is as sound as it gets!
twoandahalfstuds Posted 30 July, 2017 Posted 30 July, 2017 Yep [emoji106] Very much enjoyed the book, one of those that you get through really quickly because it is so readable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
9-3 Posted 30 July, 2017 Posted 30 July, 2017 Very funny. When he told his Dad " I've just wrote a book about you Dad'' Mick replied, " Great....am I in it?""
Viking Saint Posted 30 July, 2017 Posted 30 July, 2017 Great read. I went to school with Mick Jnr and he was one of the funniest blokes I've ever known. He hasn't changed.
Pilchards Posted 30 July, 2017 Posted 30 July, 2017 Very funny. When he told his Dad " I've just wrote a book about you Dad'' Mick replied, " Great....am I in it?"" Class

kwsaint Posted 31 July, 2017 Posted 31 July, 2017 I've read it and would recommend it. It's a really enjoyable read. It's better for the fact that it deals both with successes and failures. There's a real warmth about the book and some of it is laugh out loud funny.
adrian lord Posted 1 August, 2017 Posted 1 August, 2017 Mick was the hero striker when I started going in 77. My favourite Saints player of all time. 40 years ago. Strewth!
