shurlock Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 As bad as Stuart Pearce being a pundit Was Gary Megson busy?
whelk Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 If Pickford is worth £30 mil then my co cks a carrot Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk He looked very good this season but confidence can go from young keepers so quickly. Would be funny if Koeman spunked £30m
edprice1984 Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 It would be nothing short of embarrassing if we were to somehow fluke a win here. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk Nonsense, if we win who the hell cares!
Jimmy_D Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 Sort of feels like it might be our day after the chances Germany missed.
Micky Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 Nonsense, if we win who the hell cares! I care, Germany played football. We hoofed it. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
Shroppie Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 England miss. ? 2-1 Germany Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
Shroppie Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 Ward-Prowse scores Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
PeteCampbell Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 Absolutely crazy that JWP isn't on pens for us
DT Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 Jwp scored his penalty. Emphatically. Redmond missed his badly and we're out. Always happens v Germany Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Shroppie Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 Redmond.... misses. England out. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
Micky Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 You knew that was going to happen..... Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
saint lard Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 Redmond you useless ****....that's going to stay with him for a bit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SaintAndy14 Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 Poor Redmond. That will stay with him for a while. Surely JWP should be ahead of Tadic in our pen pecking order?
Jimmy_D Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 Oh no... That's his very last action for England U21s as well...
OttawaSaint Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 I guess we now know who our peno taker is for next season...
supersonic Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 Surely Boothroyd has seen our record of taking penalties this season? Useless from Redmond
John B Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 Penalties - Saved: England 3-4 Germany Nathan Redmond for England not much of a surprise unfortunately
Jimmy_D Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 Thought Pickford was unlucky in that shootout, was going the right way for almost all of them.
whelk Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 Keeper goes the other way and Redmond's pen looks like JWP's
shurlock Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 Keeper goes the other way and Redmond's pen looks like JWP's Redmond's pen looked more central to me.
Jimmy_D Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 Showed guts to take the 5th penalty. Aye, I'm not going to criticise someone that puts their hand up and is willing to face that.
Micky Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 Showed guts to take the 5th penalty. Both our lads stepped up for the pressure kicks. Shame it worked out as it did, but Germany deserved the win. Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
Saint Without a Halo Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 So for all those who say penalties are a lottery, how come we always lose on penalties to Germany surely in a lottery we would have won at least a few times?
SaintSteve Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 Keeper goes the other way and Redmond's pen looks like JWP's Err..no it wouldn't but Germany were far superior so correct team went through.

vectraman Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 Keeper goes the other way and Redmond's pen looks like JWP's No chance, jwp top right corner. Redmonds absolute dog sh1t attempt pretty central and low. How can that be similar? (Unless you are on strong beer, in which case fair enough!)
Lighthouse Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 If they had put the goal facing sideways on the half way line, with Yoshida standing behind it, he might have scored.
LGTL Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 If they had put the goal facing sideways on the half way line, with Yoshida standing behind it, he might have scored. If Yoshida was stood in front of the goal he'd still score as the ball would probably go under his foot.
Give it to Ron Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 That was an embarrassing performance defend on your 18 yard line and hoof it to a poor knackered Abraham. Redmond at least tried to get us going when he came on. Terrible tactics if that's the best we have running us. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

And to those criticising Redmond, at least he had the courage to step foward. It takes nerve and confidence. For all his rep as The Guv'nor I'm pretty sure Paul Ince was a serial hider when shoot-outs came round.
HKsaint Posted 27 June, 2017 Posted 27 June, 2017 Someone here should have warned Boothroyd about our new Henry. That is way he still stay in saints.

Window Cleaner Posted 28 June, 2017 Posted 28 June, 2017 (edited) In any case he wasn't the only player to miss his penalty kick. I think it was Abrahams who missed early on and the second or third german. Couldn't watch it myself because a big storm cut off the satellite feed just at the moment of penalties. England didn't really deserve to win anyway, the 3rd German goal which was ruled out for offside was pretty fine cut, probably about half a foot offside actually, which all goes to show how finely balanced winning or losing can be so a missed penalty isn't any different.
