Wiggles31 Posted 14 June, 2017 Share Posted 14 June, 2017 West Ham will be converted to a home game then - like Liverpool playing theirs away last year. Nice start. Awful awful winter fixtures keeping in line with Saints tradition!
vectraman Posted 14 June, 2017 Share Posted 14 June, 2017 We need to come out of the traps on form, first fixtures up to November all winnable (maybe manure at home excepted!) Conversely we don't need to be struggling for points the last couple of months - real toughies! If we are as good as our 8th place suggests, we should be right up in the top six looking at August/Sept/Oct fixtures. Come on Saints, let's have a good start to the campaign, and start off on the front foot for once

Lighthouse Posted 14 June, 2017 Share Posted 14 June, 2017 Would rather have the easy finish TBH. At least our start is about as winnable as you could hope for. angelman Posted 14 June, 2017 Share Posted 14 June, 2017 Does anyone know what the arrangements for away fans will be at Wembley? It would be great if they gave us a huge allocation for that game. Isn't it 10% or 3000 (or a tad more), which ever is less? Domestic league fixtures shouldn't be played at Wembley, it's a joke. Agree. They should ground share. But it is systemic of football that it is driven by money and profit. That unfortunately goes to the top ie the FA. They want as much revenue from their stadium and Spurs want 90k fans as opposed to 30k at MK Dons.

salisbury saints1 Posted 14 June, 2017 Share Posted 14 June, 2017 I'm now really optimistic about the new season - there are so many 'winnable' matches. I've completely forgotten our inability to score but hope a good transfer window will sort that out. I predict 7th place and 56 points!
Pamplemousse Posted 14 June, 2017 Share Posted 14 June, 2017 After their recent performances at Wembley, I am all for Spurs playing there. It's a neutral venue - Spurs have no home games this season, and every team will go there and raise their game. They'll suffer this season IMO. (when I mean suffer, I mean they'll finish no higher than 4th).
salisbury saints1 Posted 14 June, 2017 Share Posted 14 June, 2017 West Ham away will be moved due to athletics?Athletics finishes 14 August (I'm going!). So it depends if they can reconfigure the stadium for football in time.

Monkou Posted 14 June, 2017 Share Posted 14 June, 2017 Isn't it 10% or 3000 (or a tad more), which ever is less? That is the minimum, rather than the maximum. What I was wondering was whether Spuirs would give a bigger allocation to try and fill the ground. Imagine if they gave us 10k tickets...
shirleysfc Posted 14 June, 2017 Share Posted 14 June, 2017 If we swap the West Ham home/away games, that will give us a run of four away games (including Arsenal) before we play Chelsea, Leicester, Bournemouth, Everton and City to finish the season. Gulp!
Bad Wolf Posted 14 June, 2017 Share Posted 14 June, 2017 If we happen to get off to a bad start, we're ****ed with that November December run in. Unless we get going early on we could be in serious trouble.
Pamplemousse Posted 14 June, 2017 Share Posted 14 June, 2017 The home games against Everton and Arsenal will be moved to the Sunday or Monday, as they have Europa League on the Thursday before that (Arsenal definitely, Everton if they make it to the group stage) The away games also clash with Europa League knockout games, so they might also be moved to the Sunday if either of those teams make it far enough. Dangermouth Posted 14 June, 2017 Share Posted 14 June, 2017 Should be top 3/6 depending on how teams do for the first couple of months. Then let's hope we don't do a West Brom and tank it in the 2nd half of the season.
SFKA South Woodford Posted 14 June, 2017 Share Posted 14 June, 2017 No reason not to make a fast start and enjoy some momentum. Forester Posted 14 June, 2017 Share Posted 14 June, 2017 As other have said, a very good opportunity to get lots of points on the board before November. We will be in big trouble if not top half at least by end of October. But let's be positive, could really set the tone for a great campaign if we go well. I always look to avoid the big squad clubs over Xmas who rotate with more success so am disappointed to see away trips to Spurs and Manure in such quick succession

Cabrone Posted 14 June, 2017 Share Posted 14 June, 2017 Not sure about these fixtures, we're often not the fastest of starters and that's when a lot of our winnable fixtures are. Other than B'mth last 6 games look nasty - need to have our 40 points by start of April.
