Anyone know what's available ? Who has what ? And anyone have any they wish to sell ?

Not sure how 'official' the last one is.

Not very comprehensive, I'm afraid.

Not official Saints but there is a Big Match compliation DVD that features a number of Saints games

I have two season reviews and a Matt's Premier 50, or somesuch. I have transcribed these to digital and will post them up somewhere if anyone is interested.

These are all stored on my network drive in the loft. They are from cheap VHS so the quality is not what me might expect today. 1990-1991 is not too bad bu the other two are pretty sh!t.

I'll try and sort something out. I've used a Dropbox before but they have changed their methods are you local to Eastleigh/Hamble? Don't worry about recompense. Just chuck something in a local charity if you're happy.

i have this somewhere! Also, all through the 90's my dad diligently recorded the saints highlights from the weekly 1-hour PL review we got here in Australia and compiled his OWN season review. Should put 'em on youtube!

I'm really freaked out by the Espanyol (first game at St Mary's) upload.

 

I didn't realise Brett Ormerod had already signed for us - I thought he was a Strachan signing? He's clearly playing in that game. So is Dean Richards. Completely forgot he left in September - I thought it was soon after Hoddle left in March.

 

My knowledge of Saints around that time is pretty strong but I feel like I've entered the twilight zone.

 

Has anyone got the full line up of that day?

Have you been able to convert the 88/89 and 89/90 season review tapes to DVD? They have some form of copy protection on them that stopped me converting to DVD. The season compilations from later years I have been able to convert with no problem.

The 79 League Cup Final and 92 ZDS Final both have official VHS

 

The 79 League Cup is The Video Collection VC2064 50 mins highlights

 

The 92 ZDS is Video Gems R1496 (full game - same as Sky but not as much Prematch) - I got into a furious bidding war on ebay with someone called 'Mr Tricky Tree' and ended up paying £65 for that about 10 years ago - I didn't realise that Tricky Tree is another nickname for Forest and that badge of theirs.

 

I've also got Norwich 4 Saints 5 from 1994 - It's 'The Match' VSI Visionsport International NCSO94 55mins highlights.

 

I've pretty much got everything VHS and a DVD recorder so I can do copies.

 

The Ruddock pen v Newcastle I reckon I can do it. But I'd need to edit out the footage from the entire digital copy I've done of that 88/89 Season review VHS. I'll get on it.

I've now found the actual VHS Cassettes for the files that I listed. If you're interested in any of them you can have them for free. Are you based in south Hampshire?

I used an EZCAP device for transcription which worked in an ok way but initially it wouldn't handle Macrovision protection. After some searching on the net I found that they do provide a software patch for their program to overcome this.

Would be very interested in the 09/10 Season review. I knew they made it (it was played in the Chapel concourse at the launch of the Sash shirt) but it was never given a physical release.

Amazing the bits you do/don't remember. I recall that Everton game being on MOTD, and the Le Tissier goal seems familiar. No recollection of the wonderful Ekelund goal though. Likewise as soon as I saw Dickov playing for Arsenal, I knew it was the game he skied a penalty, but couldn't remember the score or any other events!

Relevant to this thread, apparently there are no plans to release a DVD review for last season.

 

They did a daily month by month review on the website at the end of the season.

 

Hypothetically you could rip each video from the website, join them all together and hey presto you have your season review although I wouldn't condone copyright privacy in any way
