Other Premier League Transfers - Deadline Day

Sky Sports News still making a big deal over Diafra Sakho from WHU. Who cares if he had to go to the racing to meet his agent?

They really should stop dragging this out all day now. Couple of hours in the evening is all this needs.

There was something in L'Equipe about Sakho this morning, did West Ham pull the plug on his transfer to Rennes after he'd gone there to sign on, something like that?

Sakho apparently took himself to Rennes for his medical without any permission from WHU. But people seem to think it was WHU who changed the goal posts at the last min...

Sky sources are telling us Newcastle United's move for Southampton defender Matt Targett is OFF.
Maybe since we've missed our forward targets, going to use McQueen as a striker and keep Targett as LB cover.

But seems that it's just details between clubs to be sorted.

We'd just put an option in to recall in that case.
I may have dreamt it, but I thought recall clauses weren't allowed any more.

Edit: must have dreamt it. For a 12 month loan, can recall in Jan. For any other time, has to be agreed by both parties in advance.

So you're right.

Ok, the Drinkwater deal may happen. Leicester have gone back for the target they had last year.

Leicester are close to completing a £15m deal for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Adrien Silva, Sky Sports News understands.

Sky Sports News understands Leicester will only complete the Adrien Silva deal, IF Danny Drinkwater leaves for Chelsea before tonight's 11pm deadline.

Seems like Barkley has decided he doesn't want a pay rise, CL football and London life.

I mean I had second thoughts when I saw rent prices here but guessing he doesn't have to worry about that.

I'm sure he'll enjoy being back up to Sigurdsson now, or back up to Rooney or back up to Klassen. He's only a couple of injuries away from a sub appearance I guess.

Everton now risk losing him on a free if he choses to go abroad in January.

Interesting also that Levy appears to have ****ed off another football club. Everton refused to negotiate with him over Barkley:

Everton have spent a lot of money, but their lack of getting in a striker yesterday has got to be ringing alarm bells for their fans, surely?

You can't let a 25/30 goal player leave and not replace him, which in essence is what they've done. They're obviously hoping for a better return of goals throughout the team, rather than focusing on a single player, but it's a huge gamble.

And Newcastle - christ on a bike. What a ****ty situation they've got themselves in. Huddersfield and Bournemouth have spent more than them. Rafa will be gone within weeks in my opinion, through his own call rather than being sacked. He won't want a relegation battle on his CV and they're not doing anything else this season.

The kerfufle between West Ham's Sullivan (a former captain of the adult entertainment industry) and Sporting Lisbon over an alleged offer made on deadline day by Sporting to sell Carvalho to the Hammers, is actually rather amusing:

"David Sullivan is lying," Saraiva said. "Sporting Clube de Portugal, as its Chairman has already said, has received no offer for the player William Carvalho.

"The football business is a not an adult film set on which all obscenities are allowed. This intellectual pornography is not worthy of a head of a football club."
