Talking of McCarthy, has he died?

I hate the way our club just brush 'bad injuries' under the carpet. We never really knew what was up with him last year, he just disappeared. Seemingly it has happened again.

Looks fine to me?

No dead, just not in favour??

It is weird though, I'll give you that.

He was in and around at the Austria camp, he was on the bench and I'm sure played 45 in the friendly over there. Since then though he's just vanished, no training shots, no bench appearances. Obviously picked up another injury, club are seemingly trying to keep it quiet for some reason.

How many attacking midfielders can they play? Is he better than any of Lallana, Salah, Mane, Firmino, Coutinho? Doubt it.

Yeah, but they don't have any strikers so you could well see a team with at least four of those five in it meaning adding one more into the options probably wouldn't hurt.

They do have a very fragile model in that tool who does the stupid dance after scoring, Sturridge is his name i think or is that breakidge

Sky sources: Source close to Philippe Coutinho says the Brazilian attacking midfielder would like to move to Barcelona if a deal can be done amicably with Liverpool.

We are told Coutinho will not rock the boat at Anfield and he would only leave Liverpool for Barcelona.

Liverpool’s position has not changed – Coutinho is not for sale and he signed a new five-year contract in January.

We understand Barcelona have not contacted Liverpool since their initial £72 million offer was firmly and immediately rejected 18 days ago.

How it should be handled.

STOKE CLOSE TO INDI DEAL

Stoke City are close to completing the signing of defender Bruno Martins Indi from Porto in a cut-price deal, according to Sky sources.

Last month, it looked like Crystal Palace were favourites to sign him, even though he spent last season on loan at the Bet365 Stadium - Stoke pulled out of negotiations, because they weren't prepared to meet Porto's demands for a fee over £10m.

Now, we've been told the two clubs have shaken hands on a price of around £7.25m, and Martins Indi could sign for Stoke within the next few days.

ESPN Brazil are apparently reporting that Liverpool have agreed to sell Coutinho to Barca for £90M.

Are they going for both?

DEMBELE WANTS BARCA MOVE?

Borussia Dortmund forward Ousmane Dembele wants to move to Barcelona, according to Sky in Germany.

He is waiting for Barcelona and Dortmund to agree a deal, however Barcelona have not made an official offer.

Borussia Dortmund are a listed company and any offer would have to be reported to the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

Dortmund say Dembele is not for sale but it's believed they would be willing to listen to offers of more than £90m.

Decent value that - same as we paid for Bednarek. Guess wages are a bit different.

I laugh at all the Scousers who thought that he didn't really mind if he didn't go to Barca, and that he wasn't going to make a fuss to force a move. Naivety was rather sweet.

BAGGIES READY THIRD GIBSON BID

West Brom are expected to return with a third bid for Middlesbrough captain Ben Gibson, according to Sky sources.

The Baggies have failed with two bids for the 24-year-old centre-back, with the second offer totalling £20m.

Assistant manager Gary Megson told Sky Sports News on Tuesday that the club could complete deals for five transfer targets before Saturday’s opening Premier League match at home to Bournemouth.

Good deal that, especially for £11m. Perhaps we can jump in and try and swap him for Austin or Long?

Some places are saying it's £18.5m.

GRAY FEES EXPLAINED

Sky Sports News understands Brentford are owed 27.5 per cent of any fee in excess £9.75m that Burnley receive if Andre Gray is sold.

We also understand Luton Town are entitled to 15 per cent of that in turn.

It means if Watford sign Gray for £18m, Brentford stand to make £2.27m minus £340,500 Luton are eligible for.

Why would EVERTON be haggling for a measly £5mil over Sigurdsson? Shouldn't they be busy paying Messi's release clause?
#

I would guess it has something to do with this....

Furthermore sources close to the deal have suggested that a fee of around £45million, to be paid up front with no add-ons, was verbally agreed between the two clubs before an attempt has been made by Everton to renegotiate the terms

Austin has a far superior goal record at every level. Madness to suggest swapping them.

Austin doesn't suit our style and has had more injuries than we have ST holders.

Long suits our style but needs about 30 chances before he gets one on target.

Good signing that!

Yeah Watford are doing decent business this summer but for a fee more than we bought Lemina, albeit in a more specialist area perhaps, shows what good business we did. That said I think their signings of Hughes and Chalobah for a combined £10 million odd is superb business. I Can see Watford mid-table this season again.
