Whitey Grandad Posted 31 May, 2017 Posted 31 May, 2017 Just had to put two new front tyres on my Qashqai. Ouch! It's pronounced 'Cashcow' If anybody's interested Tyreshack down on the Millbrook Industrial Estate give a very good service and good prices.
Winnersaint Posted 31 May, 2017 Author Posted 31 May, 2017 Place I use locally does too. Just the tyres in question are only used on the Qashqai and top of the range Mazda 6, hardly universal!
scotty Posted 31 May, 2017 Posted 31 May, 2017 They can dream up all the idiotic model names they want, but it's still a f*cking datsun.
Winnersaint Posted 1 June, 2017 Author Posted 1 June, 2017 I learnt to drive in a Datsun. Tbh mainly had Fords in the past, fancied a change and got the Qashqai. Stupid name I grant you, but it goes nice. None of this diesel engined stuff, got a nice petrol engine in it.
Ponty Posted 28 July, 2017 Posted 28 July, 2017 Nothing wrong with Datsuns. I have one myself and it's more than £200 per tyre...
Whitey Grandad Posted 28 July, 2017 Posted 28 July, 2017 We've had two flat tyres in less than a week. In Ilfracombe last Friday the front nearside on my Mercedes went flat with screw damage in under 300 yards and I had to get a replacement from ATS in Barnstaple (very good) for £141 and yesterday my wife's new Celerio had a screw sticking out of its shoulder for another £52. Both tyres were almost brand new. That's nearly £200 and a load of bother for nothing.

Not that good really, Micheldever Tyres would try their upmost to repair that rather than replace it and charge you £15-£20. Chain tyre monkeys will pull your pants down willy nilly!

Chain tyre monkeys will pull your pants down willy nilly! Nah, both tyres were knackered. My Mercedes one had been driven flat for a couple of hundred yards and the inside was shredded and my wife's puncture was right on the shoulder. A repair wouldn't have lasted two minutes.
