spyinthesky Posted 15 May, 2017 Share Posted 15 May, 2017 Apologies if this has been posted before but interested to see some figures compiled by Kieran Maguire (a lecturer at Liverpool University?) regarding revenue earned by 16 of the 18 Prem clubs. For some reason neither Sunderland or Burnley were on the list. According to the figures, Saints (6th in the League) had a gross income of £124.262m (ranked 10th) a Matchday Revenue of £18.882m (ranked 9th) and an average revenue per fan of £614 (ranked 8th) Latter based on an average home attendance of 30,751 (ranked 12th) In comparison Man Utd had the highest home average attendance (75,286) and highest total revenue of £515m. However Arsenal had the highest Matchday revenue at £124.5m and also the highest revenue per fan at £2,076!!! On this basis we are a well established mid ranking club but the gap between us and the top six, in revenue terms, is very significant. btw wonder where Redslo is these days? These sort of financial figures used to be right up his street
Heisenberg Posted 15 May, 2017 Share Posted 15 May, 2017 I thought the only way to be sustainable was to constantly sell players?

doddisalegend Posted 15 May, 2017 Share Posted 15 May, 2017 It used to be yes. But with the new deal that will change over this year and next. How? We get more money but so does every other team in the league. In the mean time the players and their agents are demanding more to get their cut of the new cash and the cost of player transfers have shot up when ever a PL club is trying to buy. Everyone got richer with the new TV money but it didn't really change the status quo.
