Saint_clark Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 Shouldn't we be admiring Puel for blowing caution to the wind though... #damnedifhedoesnt... Erm try again, ward prowse was a huge attacking threat. Boufal often negates any threat by wasting possession.
the saint in winchester Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 All three subs on, so no Charlie!! It's either Puel out, or a line of players wanting out.
Pamplemousse Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 If I could count the number of times you've said that this season...! What, that we'd beat Stoke? I'm just trying to be positive. This second half has been a good performance, and we have created some decent chances. Their keeper has made some good saves.
DT Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 Erm try again, ward prowse was a huge attacking threat. Boufal often negates any threat by wasting possession. Quite. Jwp was excellent. Makes no difference to the automatic substitutions Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
trousers Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 ward prowse was a huge attacking threat.. Words you never thought you'd see on Saintsweb #143
Jonnyboy Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 Boufal has actually done a lot of passing since coming on. Think someone has had a word.

nta786 Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 If we play like against Stoke, we'll beat them no problem The amount of times I have heard this. And then we don't win.
James Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 What, that we'd beat Stoke? I'm just trying to be positive. This second half has been a good performance, and we have created some decent chances. Their keeper has made some good saves. No, you've predicted that we'd beat a lot of teams on the basis of performances where we haven't gotten results. Appreciate the positivity but we can't continue to make excuses for our lack of goals. It's been the same excuse since August.
jasonb Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 Dang Boufal. He has the ball skills. Maybe Puel is right about him - next year etc.
Convict Colony Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 I've realised this season is a cunning plan to stop other clubs buying our players this season by being crap.

DT Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 Six hours since we've scored at home. Jeez Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
captainchris Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 So what logic does Puel use for player selection decisions? Boufal has been woeful (see what I did there?) and yet he still gets to come on and give the ball away continuously !
DT Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 I'm not sure what you're b*tching about, it isn't that bad (2nd half). No. All is ROSY Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Pamplemousse Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 This is probably the best we've played at home against Man Utd since we've been in the Premier League
Jonnyboy Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 So what logic does Puel use for player selection decisions? Boufal has been woeful (see what I did there?) and yet he still gets to come on and give the ball away continuously ! You tripping, he's been alright.
adrian lord Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 The dead hand of Puel shall soon return to the obscurity of the French league.
Heisenberg Posted 17 May, 2017 Author Posted 17 May, 2017 The amount of times I have heard this. And then we don't win. Pamplemousse is the SFC Mark Lawrenson.... Equally dreadful at SFC predictions.
James Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 So what logic does Puel use for player selection decisions? Boufal has been woeful (see what I did there?) and yet he still gets to come on and give the ball away continuously ! Bringing on Rodriguez over Austin and taking of JWP in one of his better games are both objectively poor decisions.
sandwichsaint Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 On the bright side we've probably killed any idea of a '39th' game - both sides have stunk the place out and Sky are struggling not to make the 37th game anything other than a game too far.
Convict Colony Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 So what logic does Puel use for player selection decisions? Boufal has been woeful (see what I did there?) and yet he still gets to come on and give the ball away continuously ! Think we have enough retainers of the ball We've all been moaning that there needs to be more risk from us to create chances, boufal runs at guys and creates panic in defences but he loses balls a lot in doing so.
Pamplemousse Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 Pamplemousse is the SFC Mark Lawrenson.... Equally dreadful at SFC predictions. I'm quite high up in the predictions league. Half of my predictions have been said tongue in cheek, knowing how much it winds everyone up.
James Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 This is probably the best we've played at home against Man Utd since we've been in the Premier League But, unfortunately, you can't win if you can't score.
Jonnyboy Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 Just our luck, their back up keeper gets man of the match.
Saint_clark Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 Arghhh redmond had taken the ball past Bailly, why did he try to flick it over him again!?!?
Pamplemousse Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 But, unfortunately, you can't win if you can't score. Just our second ever point at home to Man Utd since our return to the Premier League. They have defended well, which is why I said that if we were playing Stoke, we'd probably be winning.
OttawaSaint Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 Can't wait for Glasgow's "13th time lucky?" post at the start of next season!!!
James Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 Just our second ever point at home to Man Utd since our return to the Premier League. They have defended well, which is why I said that if we were playing Stoke, we'd probably be winning. Not convinced. Stoke are no slouches at the back.

They have defended well, which is why I said that if we were playing Stoke, we'd probably be winning. its not today its the season and how we have played I think the general moaning is about, we want to try and win not keep it tight and nick it, we have played well today but again just can't score

Saint_clark Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 Decent second half ruined by terrible subs by Puel - although Boufal was good when he came on, it should have been Redmond who came off as he hadn't been involved much in the second half.
James Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 its not today its the season and how we have played I think the general moaning is about, we want to try and win not keep it tight and nick it, we have played well today but again just can't score Exactly. We've been making the same excuses since August and CP can't change it. We've also seemingly neutered a top striker. Time to go Claude.
Heisenberg Posted 17 May, 2017 Author Posted 17 May, 2017 12th time unlucky. United did there best to help us
trousers Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 0-0 Decent performance (second half). Had more chances than Utd and a win wouldn't have been an unfair result.

Yep. And JWP is looking very good at the moment. I'd have liked to have seen Austin, not Jay Rod too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
BotleySaint Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 No shame in finishing 8th. But what a dull end to the season!
the saint in winchester Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 Reed going back to the office, to raise a P45 .... i hope!!!

RedWillie Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 Cheerio Claude, shut the door on the way out. Thanks for the Wembley trip, nothing else.

the saint in winchester Posted 17 May, 2017 Posted 17 May, 2017 Penalties is now a pressing issue unfortunately Which is why Austin has to play!!!!
