Should we go back to the diamond?

IMO we played our best football with this formation. The issue was we didnt take chances, whereas now we have stopped creating.

We also have Gabbi now who will score given the right service.

With options of Gabbi, Austin and Redmond as strikers and Boufal being allowed to develop in his preferred no 10 role, plus an ability to control midfield bettee with three players in there I think we might improve.

Second half of West Ham away was still the best we have played all season IMO.

Thoughts?

we should go back to playing 4-2-3-1 with a fast pace pasing game which is what the squad was setup to do, why we let mr bore them to death have the job and change th system used throughout the club i don'e know!

Yeah start of the season we were playing some great one touch passing football through the centre of the pitch and creating numerous chances we couldn't take. After Van Dijks injury and Stephens' nervous start, we reverted to two DM to help him out - however with him looking more competent now maybe we should try to revert to our original style of play.

Diamond formation - still slow and pedestrian like attacks but did create more chances.

4-3-3 - slow, dull and lacked creativity.

4-2-3-1 - our most naturally suited system. Worked well during brief spell starting at Sunderland away. Went to pot once Gabbiadini got injured. Although having said that we played well on the whole at home to Palace without Gabbiadini. Long should have had 4-5 goals alone in that game.

Now I think players have downed tools. Lost faith and confidence in Puel. So they will just go through the motions until season finishes and then wait for Puel to get the boot. Home form has been woeful regardless of system. Puel tactics are understood when it's about parking the bus but when onus on us to attack his tactics and in game management are atrocious.

Now McQueen is fit I would try 3-5-2 we have 2 good attacking full backs. Most sides only play 1 up. Gabi needs support as does Romeu.

Even with a reluctance to play Caceres we could play Bertrand on left of centre worked for Koeman.

Current style isn't working.
