Saint_clark Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 For anyone wondering, this is why people have doubts about puel. If this peters out to a narrow loss you can see why some are discontented. A loss at home to a side challenging to the top four? Mmkay. Knew Giroud would score.
DT Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 Sorry have you notice a guy called tadic for the last 5 games Him too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Saint_clark Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 He may have had no chance but that was absolutely pathetic from Forster, didn't even try.
BotleySaint Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 We are frustratingly dull these days. Can't hang on at the back .. don't look sharp coming forwards. End of the season can't come fast enough. Not sure where Forster was there.

Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 11 goals in the last 12 games. Something has got to change!
Mr X Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 wonder if puel has got his cases packed already? the board must be getting twitchy
shurlock Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 Yoshida again Another crap showing from a puel side Where was Stephens?
St Marco Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 Personally I think we have played utter **** second half. At no point do we look like creating a good chance let alone scoring. Arsenal are a decent team but if we were more positive we could have at least got at them a bit better.
SuperSAINT Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 Trademark-saints. - Miss chances. - Concede a header to a big striker.
Convict Colony Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 I have come to the conclusion a better coach would of got more out of this team, these players than Puel has. Even if we had the same number of points with a different coach, if we showed promise people would be tolerant but I feel we have the Gailic David Moyes as our coach.
Donatello Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 Yoshida again Another crap showing from a puel side Why no comment about Stephens going for a walkabout?
Manuel Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 For anyone wondering, this is why people have doubts about puel. If this peters out to a narrow loss you can see why some are discontented. Because Arsenal finish better than us?
Golac's Iron Gonads Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 That shows why we've been so boring lately, playing since Fonte was sold with a center back pairing that can't defend unless its got 3 defensive midfielders sat in front of it for 90 minutes.
James Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 Three games, no goals. Not good enough. Won't finish top half at this rate.
supersonic Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 I really like Yoshida as a person, but he is simply inept at PL level. Time to move on I'm afraid. We also need to make a goalscorer our main priority in the summer, no excuses, just go and buy goals.
5string Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 He may have had no chance but that was absolutely pathetic from Forster, didn't even try. I thought that, too. GK pathetic. Strikers pathetic. No wonder we're fading. It's so disappointing to see this lack of heart.
nta786 Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 That shows why we've been so boring lately' date=' playing since Fonte was sold with a center back pairing that can't defend unless its got 3 defensive midfielders sat in front of it for 90 minutes.[/quote'] That just leads to our 0-0 performances Is it me or does Long look slower
shurlock Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 Why no comment about Stephens going for a walkabout? Exactly.

Batman Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 Another half of football without testing the oppo keeper

Edmonton Saint Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 Don't think its a striker per se. We need a creative midfielder, Davis. JWP and co are inept in the opposition box.
saintwbu Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 Besides Romeu, our midfield is shocking. Thats the problem here.
Convict Colony Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 Stephens walked into the box as the ball went in for their 2nd, Yoshi was not at fault at all. Stephens did not look good for both goals, diving in after yoshi for the first and being in a different post code for the 2nd.
DT Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 To be fair we've been much better than recently but are devoid of ideas going forward. And playing a much better team that can be clinical and have a decent keeper. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Batman Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 Besides Romeu, our midfield is shocking. Thats the problem here. Best in the league mate
Convict Colony Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 Don't think its a striker per se. We need a creative midfielder, Davis. JWP and co are inept in the opposition box. Preach.... they have no speed of movement either so the ball gets passed backwards 90% of the time. We need to sell Tadic, buy Ziyech and get Cyprien and then I think I could coach that team.
adrian lord Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 The recent performances suggest a team that knows it is about to be broken up and many offloaded but not to glamour clubs.
BotleySaint Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 Need the summer to come and see who we have left for next season after the next round of sales. I'd be happy to have Puel begin the rebuilding process with his own players and get a good chance next year.
Convict Colony Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 Players don't want to play under Puel. Simple. I need this telepathy software you own
5string Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 3 minutes added on. Cue 92nd minute goal to make Puel look like he made some good decisions. I'm not normally a 'detractor', but this performance is one of too many which have just not been good enough. I don't care who we're playing - it's at home and we should be doing better and at least scoring goals! Ok, game over. Not just disappointing this time. Poor.
James Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 Not sure where we go from this season. Players will no doubt be sold and we have no momentum, players we need irrespective of the inevitable sales and a manager who cannot get us going.
Pamplemousse Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 Hmmmmm On the one hand, part of me is saying, it is against Arsenal, they're a good side, and they're probably (annoyingly for us) playing their best football of the season. On the other hand, another game, another game where we haven't scored... First half was OK, second half not good at all. We need to beat Middlesbrough.
saint77 Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 Why no comment about Stephens going for a walkabout? Exactly

Surely not.
5string Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 Maybe the tactic is to lose a few games at this stage so everybody has second thoughts about buying our players?
DT Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 Can we see Caceres play? Just once? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Pamplemousse Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 Is your unwavering support for Claude wavering? Surely not. I'll wait until the Middlesbrough game. I still maintain that the players have let him down though.
Monk Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 Last five PL games, Saints have had ten shots on target, thats an average of two per game.
mrfahaji Posted 10 May, 2017 Posted 10 May, 2017 Complete ineptitude in the final quarter of the pitch cost us that game. Whether it was dreadful shooting, dreadful decision making or dreadful aimless crosses. We looked in the game for a long time but didn't show any sort of conviction once we got in and around the penalty box. I'm finding it hard to single out a single player. I think the central midfield is our weakest position, because while we look solid enough with the three today, they offer no attacking threat, so when Tadic is woeful there isn't anyone to pick up the slack. Can't help but feel that a team that can't convert attacking play into chances, or chances into goals, with a tendency to concede through a defensive lapse here and there (because we were decent defensively overall) are the sort of things you say about a team heading for relegation. Starting to lose faith a bit now.
