suewhistle Posted 6 May, 2017 Posted 6 May, 2017 I heard it was one in each hand. I wasn't told what though..
Matthew Le God Posted 6 May, 2017 Posted 6 May, 2017 If it is Cortese, the first thing he'd do is get rid of Mr Reed. Why would you think that? Cortese hired Reed in the first place. Why do you think he'd want rid of him?
Charlie Wayman Posted 6 May, 2017 Posted 6 May, 2017 The only person able to fire the CEO is Kreuger as Chairman. That suggests it must be policy or performance related. Kat as owner cannot take unilateral decisions about staff. She can of course fire Kreuger.

Supersubpuckett Posted 6 May, 2017 Posted 6 May, 2017 Or simply that he wanted to leave, move on for a new venture. Shocking I know, but it does happen. The whole thing about restructure and seeking the right sort of leadership for the future suggests he was asked to leave. If he resigned of his own volition then it would have talked about how they are seeking a suitable replacement to continue his good work....or something like that.

As they've ruled out takeover, I'd bet on one of three: - corporate disagreement / results based - inappropriate behaviour (Award ceremony shenanigans) - illness or family issues

pluto Posted 8 May, 2017 Posted 8 May, 2017 Maybe he just wants to do another job more akin to what he was doing before being made CEO, six years at the club, young family etc it doesnt have to always be something sinister.
farawaysaint Posted 8 May, 2017 Posted 8 May, 2017 Maybe he just wants to do another job more akin to what he was doing before being made CEO, six years at the club, young family etc it doesnt have to always be something sinister. You have to admit the timing is strange.
St_Tel49 Posted 8 May, 2017 Posted 8 May, 2017 You have to admit the timing is strange. When would the timing not be strange?
Batman Posted 8 May, 2017 Posted 8 May, 2017 When would the timing not be strange? when the season is not in progress, maybe?
stevegrant Posted 8 May, 2017 Posted 8 May, 2017 You have to admit the timing is strange. There's never really a "good" time to make such a change.
buctootim Posted 8 May, 2017 Posted 8 May, 2017 I always thought of him as an accountant promoted to keep things ticking over internally at a time when the chairman was doing the external sales stuff. Maybe Ralph is dialling back and they need a more outward focussed CEO.
St_Tel49 Posted 8 May, 2017 Posted 8 May, 2017 when the season is not in progress, maybe? But he is not involved with the playing side. Why should it matter?
Batman Posted 9 May, 2017 Posted 9 May, 2017 But he is not involved with the playing side. Why should it matter? So, the whole point of the club is the playing side. He was not the cleaner or the tea lady
CB Fry Posted 9 May, 2017 Posted 9 May, 2017 So, the whole point of the club is the playing side. He was not the cleaner or the tea lady You have no idea of the shape of the commercial year for the club (or any club). Here's a clue though: it probably bears little relationship to the playing season.
Charlie Wayman Posted 9 May, 2017 Posted 9 May, 2017 So who fired Cortese then, remind me...sorry I meant persuaded him to fire himself. Wasn't he Chairman & CEO at the time so Kat could fire him? OK, that was not good corporate governance as the City requires the two posts to be separate but maybe as a Swiss private company they could get away with it.

Batman Posted 9 May, 2017 Posted 9 May, 2017 what does restructuring leadership look like when the position that Rodgers held is part of that 'restruture'?
GGalpin Posted 11 January, 2018 Posted 11 January, 2018 http://www.breakingtravelnews.com/news/article/rogers-takes-over-as-chief-executive-of-farnborough-international/ Now the CEO of Farnborough International
