Dusic Posted 5 May, 2017 Posted 5 May, 2017 Seems an odd time for a CEO to leave but he did a solid job steadying the ship. Best visible attribute is that he didn't say much publically but focused on good governance.

angelman Posted 5 May, 2017 Posted 5 May, 2017 FFS, I told you last night about this. I hear a rumour that Gareth Rogers might have met with the Spanish archer. Anyone know anything about that? https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?57377-Rumours-of-takeover-investment-interest&p=2485309#post2485309 ITK

trousers Posted 5 May, 2017 Posted 5 May, 2017 Adam Blackmore @AdamBlackmore Decision is not linked to any potential takeover, with club 'restructuring' leadership.
Disco Stu Posted 5 May, 2017 Posted 5 May, 2017 I can't say I know much about his role at the club. Did he do a good job? Was he just dealing with admin or did he have any influence on our fire sales?
lloydie Posted 5 May, 2017 Posted 5 May, 2017 Without a job lined up? "Seeking new opportunities" in that context just means he was sacked right?
SKD Posted 5 May, 2017 Posted 5 May, 2017 Short and Sweet send off on the website.... The club will be implementing an internal restructure over the coming weeks to ensure we continue to have the right leadership team off the pitch to grow our business and remain competitive in the Premier League. Everyone at the club would like to wish Gareth well for the future, and thank him for his six years of service. Looks like he may have been pushed rather than walked.. A sign of new investment or just generally not doing a very good job?
Saint 76er Posted 5 May, 2017 Posted 5 May, 2017 Adam Blackmore @AdamBlackmore Decision is not linked to any potential takeover, with club 'restructuring' leadership. Why on earth are they"restructuring leadership" immediately before a universally expected takeover? Surely the expected new owners would want to make these kind of decisions themselves? Unless they are already pulling the strings it seems a strange time for the club to be making executive moves. Presuming, of course, that GR didn't actually resign of his own volition.
the saint in winchester Posted 5 May, 2017 Posted 5 May, 2017 Probably the latter, 76er. He can see new owners circling and has said "what would you give me to push off?"
Window Cleaner Posted 5 May, 2017 Posted 5 May, 2017 Dunno, what position does he play? Who cares what admistrative personnel come or go, on the pitch is where football is at. The rest are just money men, meejah types and pen pushers.
IOWSaintDaz Posted 5 May, 2017 Posted 5 May, 2017 Better he leaves before the hypodermic syringes come out me thinks
Window Cleaner Posted 5 May, 2017 Posted 5 May, 2017 Adam Blackmore @AdamBlackmore Decision is not linked to any potential takeover, with club 'restructuring' leadership. Restructuring leadership eh, now remind me does that mean cost cutting or getting rid of those who don't agree with you. I've mislaid my business jargon for the 21st century guidebook.
Saint_Ash Posted 5 May, 2017 Posted 5 May, 2017 This is les cementing his position as big **** of course.
Disco Stu Posted 5 May, 2017 Posted 5 May, 2017 Change is coming. Huge overhaul I expect. Although I believe Puel will stay. Hopefully we get this takeover (whomever that may be) done soon because the last thing we need is an owner reluctant to put any more money in and possibly more likely to sell our assets.
Wade Garrett Posted 5 May, 2017 Posted 5 May, 2017 Short and Sweet send off on the website.... Looks like he may have been pushed rather than walked.. A sign of new investment or just generally not doing a very good job? F*ck me, Claude Puel must be sh*tting himself.
Saint Billy Posted 5 May, 2017 Posted 5 May, 2017 Adam Blackmore @AdamBlackmore Decision is not linked to any potential takeover, with club 'restructuring' leadership. I bet even Adam Blackmore doesn't believe that.
SuperSAINT Posted 5 May, 2017 Posted 5 May, 2017 No idea if Rogers leaving has anything to do with prospective takeover, but they would almost certainly put their own Chief Exec in place.
Nordic Saint Posted 5 May, 2017 Posted 5 May, 2017 Seems an odd time for a CEO to leave but he did a solid job steadying the ship. Best visible attribute is that he didn't say much publically but focused on good governance. Les Reed jettisons everyone in the end, players and staff alike. No loyalty.
Pamplemousse Posted 5 May, 2017 Posted 5 May, 2017 Can the thread title please be changed, there's no d in Rogers!
Delmary Posted 6 May, 2017 Posted 6 May, 2017 If you were the new investor who would you approach to be the new CEO? Cortese? An unknown?
SuperSAINT Posted 6 May, 2017 Posted 6 May, 2017 If you were the new investor who would you approach to be the new CEO? Cortese? An unknown? Bring back good old Jim Hone.
farawaysaint Posted 6 May, 2017 Posted 6 May, 2017 If you were the new investor who would you approach to be the new CEO? Cortese? An unknown? They usually wish to bring in their own man. I expect if it is Lander we will get someone from Asia.
Saint-Fred Posted 6 May, 2017 Posted 6 May, 2017 If you were the new investor who would you approach to be the new CEO? Cortese? An unknown? Niall Quinn
shurlock Posted 6 May, 2017 Posted 6 May, 2017 Good to see the forum's fevered imagination is on overdrive - I'll add to the skullduggery and conspiratorial tone: Rogers was kicked out for briefing against the Lander deal. Trousers would be proud.

Trousers would be proud. I like it! We normally like to promote from within, but I can't think of anyone onboard who is currently CEO-worthy.
SKD Posted 6 May, 2017 Posted 6 May, 2017 If you were the new investor who would you approach to be the new CEO? Cortese? An unknown? If it is Cortese, the first thing he'd do is get rid of Mr Reed. Not that I think it will be him mind. Especially whilst Kat is still around.
supersonic Posted 6 May, 2017 Posted 6 May, 2017 Is this because we have so many "know it alls" on twitter that we don't need a professional anymore?
Badger Posted 6 May, 2017 Posted 6 May, 2017 If it is Cortese, the first thing he'd do is get rid of Mr Reed. Not that I think it will be him mind. Especially whilst Kat is still around. Wasn't he an NC appointment in the first place? If so, he might just sack him for not quitting after he left.

Trousers would be proud. That's not a not a rumour worth repeating though. It has to be more scandalous. Are we sure he wasn't knobbing a player's wife, or exposing himself in from of the Junior Saints ?
