Hatch Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 Fair enough. I wouldn't let them adopt anyway because they own a dog and it wouldn't be fair on the child to grow up in a stinking, **** covered house.
Gully Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 Fair enough, if you can't look after yourself what chance for the child.
bridge too far Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 Fair enough - far better that a child ends up in care than in a loving family.
wheels Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 Fair enough - far better that a child ends up in care than in a loving family. Fair enough, if they 'love it too much' by overfeeding it then it will become a fat bastard like them and would wish it had stayed in care
St Landrew Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 Fair enough - far better that a child ends up in care than in a loving family. It might seem fashionably over-reactive of the Council, but I go along with this thinking. It's bad enough getting older and getting overweight as one slows down, and I'd should know, I'm nearly 14 stone and I should be 13 stone. But being young and overweight is a massive strain on the body. And being obese is like sitting on a time-bomb. If the couple want to adopt a child badly enough, the man will slim down to a weight, and not put it back on. It will be healthier for him, and will be a good example to the child, who they would have no problems in adopting. I notice the partner isn't the sveltest of individuals either.

I understand what you're saying StL and I usually agree with you. I just wonder a bit where we draw the line. Will the next thing be an IQ test for potential adopters? There are plenty of 'natural' parents who are overweight but who successfully raise 'normal' weight children.

EastleighSoulBoy Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 i would say so..there are too many thick chavs with kids...I also notice they have a pitt bull of some description too Agreed, I'd tend to be more worried about the dog than the fella's weight, even then though, should someone having a pit bull type dog prevent them being a parent? I'm not sure on the legalities of these type of dogs so it's hard to formulate an opinion.
hamster Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 What do people consider makes the perfect parent then? I shall start with blue hair, blonde eyes.
Weston Super Saint Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 What do people consider makes the perfect parent then? I shall start with blue hair, blonde eyes. Racist.
Thedelldays Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 What do people consider makes the perfect parent then? I shall start with blue hair, blonde eyes. not being disgustingly fat for starters by the looks of it
hamster Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 I would reckon one head maximum. However, if someone had two heads, and one was a stunner, then I would re-consider.
Master Bates Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 What a day, fat b@stards fairly not being allowed to adopt, and an inbred skate couple giving birth to a two headed scaly monster.
Master Bates Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 I guess this explains why Mr Blobby isn't a father.
hamster Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 What a day, fat b@stards fairly not being allowed to adopt, and an inbred skate couple giving birth to a two headed scaly monster. Do these stories prove that God has a sense of humour?
Hatch Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 Will the next thing be an IQ test for potential adopters? And why not? Weeds out the chaff.
bridge too far Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 And why not? Weeds out the chaff. So we end up with a 'super race'. Sound familiar? And who would do the dross jobs then? You offering?
Ponty Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 So we end up with a 'super race'. Sound familiar? And who would do the dross jobs then? You offering? Are you saying that the only jobs fat people with low IQs are fit for are the dross? Bigot.
Hatch Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 So we end up with a 'super race'. Sound familiar? And who would do the dross jobs then? You offering? Whats it got to do with jobs. Surely bringing up a child needs some sort of intelligence.
Wiltshire Saint Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 I understand what you're saying StL and I usually agree with you. I just wonder a bit where we draw the line. Will the next thing be an IQ test for potential adopters? There are plenty of 'natural' parents who are overweight but who successfully raise 'normal' weight children. Yes there should be. In fact it shouldn't just be for adopters but for anyone that wants a child. There are too many stupid people that have children. They are unable to bring those kids up properly and do more damage than good.
bridge too far Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 Are you saying that the only jobs fat people with low IQs are fit for are the dross? Bigot. You KNOW I'm not saying that. You know me better than that I probably didn't express myself very well. I was responding to Hatch's response to my sarcastic proposal that parents had to have a (presumably) high IQ. This would, quite possibly (depending on your views on the nature / nurture debate), lead to their children being intelligent too and, therefore, not willing and available to do jobs that people with low IQs have historically and conventionally done before. OK?
bridge too far Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 Whats it got to do with jobs. Surely bringing up a child needs some sort of intelligence. See my response to Ponty above. I was developing your response to my 'suggestion' (made with tongue firmly planted in my cheek) to the logical conclusion that a super race could develop........
saint_stevo Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 if my dad was obese it would mean we wouldnt have played football and i wouldnt have been f*cking amazing, and it wouldn't have given steve grant the chance to ruin my knee just before christmas. i hate the social services
Hatch Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 See my response to Ponty above. I was developing your response to my 'suggestion' (made with tongue firmly planted in my cheek) to the logical conclusion that a super race could develop........ you could be on to something
saint_stevo Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 fat birds aint too bad, they are an option if your struggling and its getting late
Thedelldays Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 fat birds aint too bad, they are an option if your struggling and its getting late 10 to 2 birds
saint_stevo Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 Gorillas in the mist as long as there legs stop touching below the knee- she's schweet
saint_ed Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 I knew they'd be northern before I even looked at the video.
Weston Super Saint Posted 12 January, 2009 Posted 12 January, 2009 So we end up with a 'super race'. Sound familiar? And who would do the dross jobs then? You offering? To be fair, I don't think the principles of 'selective breeding' apply to adoptions
St Landrew Posted 13 January, 2009 Posted 13 January, 2009 Remember her..? http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=oj0kr1QLjD0 Wow..! Did anyone notice she lost 10 pounds..? I didn't know that. Well, we know it wasn't for long. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=I6j6GcP3-uQ She got even heavier too. After a quick search, this is the most recent video I've found: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=71fOJvqdaRY Anybody notice the parent in all this..? I mean, how thick [excuse the pun] do you have to be not to notice that your kid is suffering..? Surely people don't need to be taught to know when something like this is wrong. Anyway, seems that state services did the right thing here. Of course, this is extreme. But how many years will go by before it isn't..? Hopefully the girl will keep the weight off. Perhaps her Mum should follow her example.
thesaint sfc Posted 13 January, 2009 Posted 13 January, 2009 If he wasn't fat or didn't want to adopt, then there wouldn't be a problem. It's entirely their fault.
Master Bates Posted 13 January, 2009 Posted 13 January, 2009 Remember this? http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=hlYCVpPo1WQ&feature=related or this? http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=dwnuODleeDI&feature=related
bridge too far Posted 13 January, 2009 Posted 13 January, 2009 I'm so pleased that the future citizens of Southampton won't be denied the opportunity to adopt in years to come http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/4043131.Fat__hampton__Not_to_mention_Obese_leigh_/
JohnnyFartPants Posted 13 January, 2009 Posted 13 January, 2009 That fat yank kid is funny as ****. Not in a clever comedy way, just really good to laugh at, the loser.
Master Bates Posted 13 January, 2009 Posted 13 January, 2009 Kerry Katona can adopt now she's only 8 stone.
Rory Posted 13 January, 2009 Posted 13 January, 2009 What do people consider makes the perfect parent then? I shall start with blue hair, blonde eyes. Oh good, I can't wait for babies now! I am going to be awesome.
