This seriously is not worth the s*it.

I was told literally 10 minutes ago.

If it's in the press I CAN'T help that, the press do nothing but speculate, I was told by someone for 100% the new guy is taking over tomorrow.

But this isn't worth the crap.

Mush, give it up, you chat more sh_it than most and that's an achievement in itself.

Are you suggesting interviews have already taken place and he is coming over to be crowned, anointed and have photos taken limp-handshaking Les?

I think we are expecting a sequence of shortlisting, interviews, offer and negotiation before the above.

Question withdrawn, after your later comments. We await the smoke signals over the Vatican then.

Ok, we need volunteers, hands in the air.

- one man to wait at Southampton airport

- one man at Southampton rail station

- one man stationed in the car park at SMS

- one man at Staplewood

- one man at the Potters Heron :)

We have our inside man as far as flights but can't remember his user name - doh

Just go on http://www.flightradar24.com and keep an eye on Eastleigh, much easier.

Also, need a guy at the National Express coach station.

He will definitely be proven correct. He has said that someone will take over at some point.

Dennis Bergkamp's name's appeared on Oddschecker. Only Skybet offering odds at the moment...

Dutch initials D B. Someone probably got a cryptic message for de boer and put their money on Bergkamp.

A bit of news and this all I know.

New guy is coming in tomorrow, whether its announced tomorrow is another matter.

I'd expect it by Friday.

Either tomorrow or the day after.

Sorry that's all I know.

We're all expecting it to happen this week, so if it happens tomorrow, or Thursday, or Friday then yeah, that's what we all think will happen because that's been in the papers.

Didn't you have a Spanish mate who said Valverde was going to be our next manager?

Very true, I have a Spanish mate. That was the word he received. Seems he was tapped up months ago. By whom, no idea. Also no idea if true.

His latest is chap called Javi Garcia. Could be good or total nonsence.

Is Pellegrino being labelled a defensive coach purely based on the Alaves goals scored stats last season?

If so, surely a bit knee jerk without having actually watched any of the games?

On the face of it he would seem a very interesting choice.

Seems unlikely we would make such a demand unless we are going to give him a five year contract, which would be a mental thing to do.

If I was MP's agent I'd be saying if you want my guy for the long term, give him a long term contract. Ker-ching.

Les, Les, Les youre sounding way to desperate.

Its like getting a new girlfriend and then telling her you're only exclusive if she never ever cheats.

How about you just treat the girl right, spoil her and be attentive to all her needs?

One condition..... Honestly Leslie :mcinnes:

Typical Crook copying comment from another journo about the 'stepping stone' element. But there really isnt much anyone can do as the same could apply by a manager saying dont sack me this season ! Such is the clause with getting a manager during a contract, i cant see another club taking anyone now after just one season. So you would expect to get at least two seasons.

This is the difference between Nicola and Leslie...

Big Nic would go for the hottest chick and would be confident she would not want another man.

Little Leslie is looking at the 5 outta ten chicks as he thinks they will be more grateful to have a boyfriend and less likely to cheat. If you want an easy life get an ugly wife, that worked well with Puel :mcinnes:

Just go for the hot chick Les - man up ffs

If he's crap, he gets the bullet. If he's good, he jumps ship for a big club. Either way, this time next year we will be going through all this crap again.

Koeman was "good" for his first season and didn't jump ship. I find it unlikely that our next manager will be "good" enough to suddenly be good enough for a much bigger club than us in the space of one year. And if he is, we will have had a brilliant season and would be highly attractive to our next manager.

I've warmed to the idea of Vieira, I must admit.

The MLS is a crazy league though, so it's difficult to assess his performance there. Like all American sports, there is a salary cap so rich clubs can't outspend the others and whoever wins the league gets penalised by getting the last pick in the 'draft'. And then there are the play-offs, which effectively is a complete lottery.

Wow. Didn't know that, bunch of socialists.

Maybe so, but would we be in this position if -

1 We had won the league cup ?

2 Finished 8th, but played attractive football ?

3 Puel got on better with fans/players ?

The club wants a long term, successful manager , but that will never happen if we lose all our best players every year. The club needs a reality check.

If those three things had happened, Puel would be our manager for next season no problem. Those three things wouldn't have got him the, say, Sevilla job or the Dortmund job, or any vacancy at top six Prem club. I don't understand your point.

We are where we arenow. We'll see how much we want a long term manager we want by the contract we give him. 5 years? 6 years? Bet we don't.

Anyone else think it feels different this time? Normally when we're on a managerial search, I'm checking this site every five minutes, looking up stats of everyone that's even vaguely linked and just getting generally hyped up. This time, it's just meh. Maybe because of the underwhelming list of names being linked.

Or maybe it's because it's been obvious we were going to be looking for a new manager this summer for several months.

Sorry mate feel that's a little rash.

Fair enough I don't know if the bloke has got any legitimate insight behind-the-scenes or not, but ****ing tearing him apart when he pokes his head out once in a while isn't exactly going to do much good.

You're essentially bating him to prove himself, by posting some kind of hot off the press news that could not be possibly found anywhere else, not on media or from the journos.

But the amount of leaks and rumours these days it's almost impossible to hear something that hasn't already been said elsewhere.

I'm not defending the bloke, don't care much for anyone on an internet forum for that.

I rather just say it can't harm him or the forum for you to just leave him be and let him post snippets from time to time if he wishes.

If they are ********, then fine, it'll add to the utter ******** that makes up 90% of the site anyway. If not, then we get some behind the scenes info that helps us know what the clubs up to which is nice, as paying fans.

Never heard Nigel Adkins described as a hot chick before but if that's what lights your candle then go for it.

You mean like Puel was labelled too defensive based on his goals scored stats last season, despite spending half the season with our 3rd/4th choice CB's (Yosh/Stephens), the inept Forster, and Shane Long as our most played striker? Despite his team scoring the 3rd most goals the ligue 1 season before with Nice (ahead of a star-studded Monaco).

Mmm...

Absolute silence from Tuchel and Olaf. No actual quotes from either. Sky and Jeremy informed at identicle times with no source revealed. Owners want to make a big impression. Top 4 wont take a risk on him until he proves himself in the PL. Would not surprise me.

Thats my way of thinking and I'm hoping it's Tuchel.

The whole football world would sit up and be amazed if we got him in.

I don't know why Tuchel needs to come out and give "actual quotes" - we're not that important, he doesn't need to justify himself to Saints fans.

Through his agent Sky Sports have run the story and through the club Jeremy Wilson has run his story. I see that as two sources, not one.

While I'd love to be surprised as he was the only candidate that looked like a true step up, I think clinging on to Tuchel in the face of those two stories feels like a forlorn hope.

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if we got Aidy Boothroyd in

Massive comedown that would be.

Boothroyd has done a great job with the England Under 21s. For me he'd have been a better choice for England than Southall.

Nigel Adkins with Boothroyd would be a top choice for Saints
