S-Clarke Posted 29 April, 2017 Share Posted 29 April, 2017 Every one of his penalties is ****e, even if he scores it's a weak effort. I remember the first penalty he was given, away at Burnley in RK's first season - dire. Why does he continue to take them? We were spoiled with the days of Rickie, but all you want is someone to hit it with some conviction. He just tries to dink it, or pass it. Utter trash player when he's not on his game. I don't know why he was still on the pitch to take the bloody thing, although in fairness there were so many that could have been taken off. Jonnyboy Posted 29 April, 2017 Share Posted 29 April, 2017 If he'd scored we'd be point behind West Brom with a game in hand and the Puel Out thread would be much quieter. Sims next time please.
beatlesaint Posted 29 April, 2017 Share Posted 29 April, 2017 Redmond should have been off before anyone, he had the game from hell today. yes he did but nah, let's take off the only forward who can score goals instead.
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 29 April, 2017 Share Posted 29 April, 2017 Left foot penalty takers with short run ups are a disaster waiting to happen. Of all the players we could have chosen I would have had Tadic last. Have to question Puel on the selection. Yet another error, when will he learn? John Boy Saint Posted 29 April, 2017 Share Posted 29 April, 2017 The rest must be crap at pens if Tadic is the nominated taker! Every man and his dog around me were expecting the worst when he picked up the ball.
9-3 Posted 29 April, 2017 Author Share Posted 29 April, 2017 He is costing us points. I also don't rate him, plays for himself, not the team. Makes these silly rantrums to the referee Over rated.
Dellman Posted 29 April, 2017 Share Posted 29 April, 2017 Anyone but Tadic...Jay Rod was on the pitch, surely a CF can put the ball in the net from 12 yds. Tadic should have been subbed beforehand anyway, JWP would have put it away. Truth is we didn't deserve to win
Pamplemousse Posted 30 April, 2017 Share Posted 30 April, 2017 The odd missed one you can forgive, but he has missed too many now. Drop him, or get Rickie Lambert to do some drills with him. JWP has never missed for us, right?
HKsaint Posted 30 April, 2017 Share Posted 30 April, 2017 He will cost us the 8th rank and the 16th is only 3 points behind us. There were reasons why he should be substituted every game.
Dark Munster Posted 30 April, 2017 Share Posted 30 April, 2017 It wasn't that bad a penalty, I've seen much, much worse. It was a very good save by the keeper. Agreed though that it would be nice to have a Rickie/MLT quality penalty taker.
shurlock Posted 30 April, 2017 Share Posted 30 April, 2017 Probably have most confidence in Bertrand taking pens.

leeham_69 Posted 30 April, 2017 Share Posted 30 April, 2017 What is Tadic's actual record of scored v misses? He did thump one into the roof last time if I remember... Badger Posted 30 April, 2017 Share Posted 30 April, 2017 JWP should be on pens and if he isn't on the pitch it should be Gabbi Neither of whom were on the pitch when we were awarded the penalty yesterday.
Lord Duckhunter Posted 30 April, 2017 Share Posted 30 April, 2017 He did thump one into the roof last time if I remember... Because we were 3-0 up. Easy to smash them in when it doesn't matter. When you need bottle 0-0 at Burnley, inter Milan & again yesterday he bottled it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
shurlock Posted 30 April, 2017 Share Posted 30 April, 2017 The commentator on the stream I was watching said that before that one he had 5/7 - now 5/8. Remember 2 of those were hardly convincing - arsenal (in the league cup 2014/2015 ) and chelsea (away in the league 2014/15) come to mind.
mrfahaji Posted 30 April, 2017 Share Posted 30 April, 2017 When he missed, I thought the same - "why is Tadic our main penalty taker?" And then I thought about who else should be taking them. Bertrand was the only one I could think of (who was on the pitch) that may be a better alternative. Pretty sad indictment of our team though! mrfahaji Posted 30 April, 2017 Share Posted 30 April, 2017 Gabbiadini wasn't on the pitch when we won the penalty. People may think he should have stayed on (I didn't see the game so can't comment), but not sure you should keep someone on purely in case you get a pen. 5string Posted 30 April, 2017 Share Posted 30 April, 2017 I've never understood how professional footballers, who can all hit the ball way harder and more accurately than I could ever dream of, can't score penalties. They pass it pathetically towards the goal with the assumption that the 'keeper will just dive the other way. Hit it, man! Except Tadic. He should never take another one. Saint-Fred Posted 30 April, 2017 Share Posted 30 April, 2017 If he'd scored we'd be point behind a very poor West Brom side which have lost their last four or five league games and yet we still can't catch them , with a game in hand and the Puel Out thread would be much quieter. Sims next time please. Corrected for you.
the saint in winchester Posted 30 April, 2017 Share Posted 30 April, 2017 Need to get ChazAustin back if only to take the penalties. What do Peach, Channon, Beattie and Lambert all have in common? They all hit their penalties with some venom. "Just blaaaast it", as Mick Channon famously said.

You have a guy with a proven record of not being able to take a pen and your logic based on no evidence is we have no one better!!!! For God's sake mate ... So let's continue with Tadic shall we!!! Really - is your name Puel by any chance?

HKsaint Posted 1 May, 2017 Share Posted 1 May, 2017 No despite all your opposition, Puel will still try to train Tadic as a penalty taker, and Redmond as our main striker. Nothing to loss!
Ultimatt Posted 1 May, 2017 Share Posted 1 May, 2017 In training it's Forster on the other end. No surprise that a low pass to either side is enough for him to win the training shootouts.
