BotleySaint Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 Theoretically an exciting, creative attacking trio...... Theoretically. But every time we've tried it we look on the back foot I think. Just not picking up the loose balls.
Donatello Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 I get the impression the crowd is going to boo at half time
OttawaSaint Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 All Prem scores are 0-0 right now. Lots of uninterested teams.
Viking Saint Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 No goals in any of the Premiership games so far
Ohio Saint Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 Meh, we will win this in a surprising second half?
saint lard Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 As each game goes by,it gets more depressingly lethargic, boring, uninventive. That's the football....and Puel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
saintsmike25 Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 I get the sense that we need a Shane Long, someone more direct willing to hit them on the break I dare say. Tadic, Boufal and Redmond are all slowing us down by playing "too safe" Gabidianni has had barely any balls into feet, Cedric seems too scared to cross today, and Redmond is at least defending but our shape is terrible and we don't look arsed.
verlaine1979 Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 We've got four players wanting to play on the edge of the Hull box and two central midfielders playing within the width of our half of the centre circle - completely disjointed with no platform to build on (with the exception of one good run from Davis).
nta786 Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 Feels like we parking the bus Boring Ooh clucas nearly scored
James Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 Shocking half. Hopefully our world class manager will turn it round at half time.
Edmonton Saint Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 Lots of boo's at half time. Not surprised, terrible 45 minutes again.
Batman Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 another boring, unimaginative, dull period of home football from Puel and saints... is this really the future??? 5th worst home record in the country and only Boro have scored less home goals....terrible
Baird of the land Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 Being bossed at home by Hull, ohh how wonderful. Changes at half time needed.
Crab Lungs Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 Prediction for next 6 months May 2017 limping finish to 13th June 2017 Bertrand, van dijk, Soares not for sale July 2017 Bertrand, van dijk, Soares sold for 85m in total for offers that 'is a fair reflection of the players market value' and will enable us to reinvest and 'continue to progress and improve the squad' Aug 2017 Bigged up substandard replacements brought in for 50m Dec 2017 the 'Give Claude time and he'll get it right' fascinators have had their time as has Puel. Player status will look disinterested and the style of play still incredibly boring. Saints 18th in Prem, Puel leaves. Meh, guess we'll see. Can't see Saints getting better in time as many others predict
Pass the Dutchie Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 The whole game is like Forster today: much too slooooow
obelisk Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 It's getting difficult to remember the last decent home performance.
BotleySaint Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 Hopefully can mix things up at half time. Puel has to see the current formation doesn't work.
Pass the Dutchie Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 This can only get better though, and it should. Long in, and maybe JWP?
Pamplemousse Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 Rubbish Puel was brave to name all of those attacking players but none of them have delivered at all I'd get Boufal off, put Hojbjerg on, try and regain possession in the middle and work from there. Thankfully, Hull haven't been much better
Batman Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 let me guess, puel has done brilliantly today as he does not have Mane and Pelle.!!!!
eelpie Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 another boring, unimaginative, dull period of home football from Puel and saints... is this really the future??? 5th worst home record in the country and only Boro have scored less home goals....terrible Come on now. We've gained a point on West Brom. That's good enough, surely. yawn
Donatello Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 *Really* poor. No way near enough control for a philosophy which advocates possession. It'd be nuts to not make any HT changes. Stick Davis where Tadic is 'playing', and shove Prowse/PEH in midfield.
vectraman Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 No shots, no excitement, kids are bored, I'm bored. Sort it Claude, it ain't working .
Pamplemousse Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 I blame the players myself. Half of them look like they're on the beach already Puel was out of his seat for most of the half, so you can tell he isn't pleased at all.

Thankfully, Hull haven't been much better Just to be clear, you aren't attaching any blame to Puel for picking an unbalanced side that is allowing Hull too much time on the ball? Team selection and shape is all wrong, nothing to do with the players. That's the manager's decision and IMO he's got it wrong so far.
K,Billy's supersound Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 What a load of ****e. Lucky not to be 1 down.
DG Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 Really really boring. And bad. No midfield was a mistake.

Team selection and shape is all wrong, nothing to do with the players. That's the manager's decision and IMO he's got it wrong so far. of course it is down to the players too. Just worried how puel can't get a tune out many of them on a consistent basis
Donatello Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 Side note, we're only a point above Leicester as it stands. How'd that happen?

Team selection and shape is all wrong, nothing to do with the players. That's the manager's decision and IMO he's got it wrong so far. I said it in the pre-match thread that it was brave of Puel to name all of those attacking players, and that personally I'd have put another CM in there

Half of them look like they're on the beach already Puel was out of his seat for most of the half, so you can tell he isn't pleased at all. To me it's not lack of effort, we've just not got any bite in midfield to win the ball back. We saw against Bournemouth that a front three of Boufal, Redmond and Tadic means we get overrun in midfield. It's happening again today which suggests the tactics are wrong.
Saints foreva Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 Marco Silva's tactics remind me of our tactics under MP. Probably helped by the fact that we've been so slow with the ball as well.
Pamplemousse Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 What a load of ****e. Lucky not to be 1 down. Hull haven't exactly played well. They've got into decent positions but done F all with it. They've not really looked like scoring.
corky morris Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 Zero shots either on or off target. Slower than a slow thing who has had slow pudding very slowly......................................................

I think there is a lack of effort, or rather, Hull want it more than us. But I agree, we need an extra CM in there.
cellone Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 let me guess, puel has done brilliantly today as he does not have Mane and Pelle.!!!! Who the fk has said that on this thread. Lovely little stroke session for you and James eh!
jamesfp1 Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 I don't think I've seen a more boring half in my time
Batman Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 Yoshida has been poor IMO along with Tadic. Gabbi has had no service what so ever
Ohio Saint Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 I cant believe I bothered to wear underpants to watch this match

Ohio Saint Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 I need this on every page just in case the match continues this way.
OldNick Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 A team fighting for their lives always are likely to mak it hard for a club in mid table. Hull have improved greatly in the last month or so and not a pushover for anyone.

Hull have improved greatly in the last month or so and not a pushover for anyone. how come they have 1 point from 15 away games before this? have they not been making it hard for other teams before today?
Daft Kerplunk Posted 29 April, 2017 Posted 29 April, 2017 The league is only the guide for how good a team is, and we are distinctly average as a Premier League team this year. How are Watford getting on?
