trousers Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 If think tactically the game is going exactly as we want it to. This
Batman Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 this is better....couple of good chances but up'd the tempo a bit....worked their defence/keeper
Batman Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 Fantastic from Forster! got it that was a penalty and people say we dont get the luck
Edmonton Saint Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 Forster got away with that. Looked a pen to me.
Saint_clark Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 what did he do? Watch it closely, touches it with his fingertips. From the angle out wide, the ball slows down ever so slightly as it goes past Forsters hand.
RoswellSaint Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 Forster got away with that. Looked a pen to me. Agree!
trousers Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 Watch it closely, touches it with his fingertips Forster didn't touch it IMO
Saint_clark Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 Forster didn't touch it IMO Feel free to watch that angle again, no other explanation for the change in speed of the ball.
RoswellSaint Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 Scouse git thought it was a pen as did Poll. Watch the replays. I think we were very lucky. But I'm happy with that!
Saint_clark Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 Clearly gets the touch from that angle but the commos are too biased.
trousers Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 Feel free to watch that angle again, no other explanation for the change in speed of the ball. Have watched the replay. Sane nudged it left just as Forster reached for it, which made it look like Forster touched it from the other angles. Edit: actually, just watched the angle from behind the goal and now I'm not so sure!
adrian lord Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 fingertips of Forster deffo touched it and altered the trajectory of the ball!
OttawaSaint Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 Hmm, still can't see whether a) he got the ball or b) he got Sane
Saint_clark Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 Have watched the replay. Sane nudged it left just as Forster reached for it, which made it look like Forster touched it from the other angles. Nope, the touch from Forster was AFTER Sane nudged it wide. Clear as day on the angle from behind the goal.

Edit: just watched the angle from behind the goal and now I'm not so sure! Forster gets a tiny touch on it.
St Chalet Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 Fine margins. But you see the pattern of the ball change direction. Slightest nick by Forster but ball first.
OttawaSaint Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 Ref giving Saints nothing at all. Apart for the pen decision. Lol
Donatello Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 I'm seeing the touch too, but I'm not sure if that's the bias talking. There's definitely an angle where Forster's finger tips react to something (I.e. the ball)
trousers Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 Nope, the touch from Forster was AFTER Sane nudged it wide. Clear as day on the angle from behind the goal. Yep, agree now. The angle behind the goal is more revealing.
obelisk Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 Apart for the pen decision. Lol Nah! He gave a corner.
mrfahaji Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 Never a booking. Cedric? It's an example of how "going to ground" shouldn't automatically be a booking. Hardly the same as Hojbjerg's earlier!
Shance Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 That wasn't a pen. Forster got a touch on the ball. Great bit of goalkeeping and refereeing.
Heisenberg Posted 15 April, 2017 Author Posted 15 April, 2017 HT! take that after City's bright start. Decent attacks and chances for both sides, but neither keeper tested Got lucky with the penalty decision but we were due one.
Saint_clark Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 HT! take that after City's bright start. Decent attacks and chances for both sides, but neither keeper tested Got lucky with the penalty decision but we were due one. It wasn't a penalty Glasgow so no luck involved, just a correct decision.
Batman Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 HT Man city bossing possession, good defending by us we have had 2 good chances really and at times, very poor on the ball the atmosphere sounds horrendous
Pamplemousse Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 Not too bad so far, we will get chances and hopefully we can nick this
trousers Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 Decent enough first half. Yes, City had most possession by far but that appears to be down to our game plan (sit back and hit them on the break) rather than City dominating against our will.
NewYorkSaint Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 Superbly focused defending. Cedric incredibly impressive. US commentators first thought pen, then looked again and agreed Forster got touch. They had the ball, but we had the best chances. Redmond is such an exciting player. The combo w Gab and Tadic really promising. holding out for a spectacular second half team goal!
austsaint Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 Puel has to change something at H/T. Tadic and Ward-Prowse luxury players today. Either move JWP more centrally and get him helping the midfield or replace him with Clasie. Cedric is all alone defensively down the right side. If we want to win the game rather than hang on for an unlikely scoreless draw, replace Tadic with Boufal. Davis, Cedric and Yoshida all good in an "away" style performance.
Saint_clark Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 AHAHAHAHAHAHA bt admit that Forster touches the ball first but it should still be a pen because he brings him down after....what!!!!
OttawaSaint Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 Side angle shows a clear touch by FF. but I still can't see if he touched Sane. Looks like a Sane decided to go down, anticipating a touch.
Pass the Dutchie Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 We could dare a little more. City have everything to lose. We're not going down, we're not getting into Europe. Overall a pretty solid but somewhat boring performance so far.
InvictaSaint Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 AHAHAHAHAHAHA bt admit that Forster touches the ball first but it should still be a pen because he brings him down after....what!!!! Yes because apparently it "feels" like a pen according to the studio 'experts'......
OttawaSaint Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 Hmm, last replay I watched Sane and not the ball anf FF doesn't get him.
obelisk Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 Yeah. FF definitely pushes the ball for a corner. Forward then falls over his arm. No pen regardless of the opinion of the BT chaps.
vin Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 AHAHAHAHAHAHA bt admit that Forster touches the ball first but it should still be a pen because he brings him down after....what!!!! Absolute nonsense from Poll - second phase my arse. He touched the ball - what is the keeper expected to do

Overall a pretty solid but somewhat boring performance so far. 5 points separates 9th (us) and 15th (AFCB) that's the difference of £14 million in merit money (2m per place) Still alot to play for

If Tadic and JWp are luxury players, then Boufal is a super luxury player.

obelisk Posted 15 April, 2017 Posted 15 April, 2017 Højbjerg needs to be careful. Could easily pick up another yellow. Need to keep 11 of the pitch.
