Oh **** me the pedant is at it again. If you look at the report it was published 15 hours ago, but guess now this is when it was last updated rather than first published (given there are comments from Tuesday). Don't see or get the Echo (only looked because it was linked on here). You really need to try to grasp the concepts of humour, banter and fun (as well as defensive midfielder), may be try to get out more.

Australian Saints gathering in Brisbane for their annual road trip for this one. 2:30 am kick off, fans arriving from around the country - and to put it in persepective, Perth to Brisbane is the same as Bargate to Baghdad. We are even playing the Norwich and Chelsea Aussie fan groups in the park as well. Details:

We'll be kicking things off (literally) in the Botanic Gardens from 1pm on Saturday with the jumpers for goalposts. The Norwich and Chelsea groups have accepted the challenge. With Sydenham on the wing, we can't lose!

Following the kick-about (approx 3pm) we've been invited across the road to one of Brisbane's premier restaurants, Moo Moo Wine Bar & Grill, owned by a Saints fan. Following that we've set aside a few spare hours for those who require a few extra zzz's to make the later kick-off.

The dinner itself will get underway at the Pig 'N' Whistle Riverside from 7.30pm-8pm. Between dinner and the match getting underway at 2.30am we'll have Saints FA Cup styled trivia, the signed Boufal shirt raffle (plus more prizes) and much, much more - including the highly anticipated Hosts v Visitors 'boat race'.

Sunday is TBD and will depend on result. Most likely a Sunday session somewhere near the water either way. For those who have taken the Monday off we'll be attending the Brisbane Roar A-League match that evening at Suncorp.

Can't wait to see you all at the 5th SAS Annual!!

I sh*t you not, tried to select two seats together and that is what I was offered .. to be honest I had no idea we had restricted view too but apparently it is so. £50 a pop if you fancy trying them out for a bit of consumer feedback.

Apologies I obviously know jack but I hold my hands up and admit that on this occasion I might of been mis informed

right onto Saturday resticted view or not it will be great being back at home again not played there since before the cup final and that is now just a distant memory

COYS........

Could be better off having a game of water polo. Schools closed today due to heavy rainfall. Another rather large downpour forecast for today.

This is the residue of a rather large cyclone dissipating to the north. When it does rain over there, it really comes down.

Good effort! I had a work trip to Aus that meant I missed EPL final and ended up watching it in the Casino sports bar in Melbourne as the only Saints fan!

As there is a midweek game do we think we will see the usual Martina, McQueen, Clasie etc changes for the Palace game?

I'm pretty sure most players won't start all 3 of our next games so will be interesting to see how it affects what have been some nicely consistent performances.

Surely better off mixing up the teams rather than sticking out the strongest side for Bompey and then a weakened side vs Palace.

Guessing that JWP/Davis/Clasie will be rotated, and possible the full backs. Boufal/Tadic also rotated. Would expect all Stephens/Caceres/Yoshida will play twice each.

At least Orion Romeu thinks 12th place isn't good enough after last season so no way he will let up and allow this to become an end of season yawn-fest. That suggest we will not rotate to an absurd degree and field weak teams - at least that what I ope it will mean.

Accepting the fact that you've never been the brightest bulb you do understand, in simple terms, why we were rotating and why that has stopped are do you need pictures to understand?

Not surprised about any of this. It's good Gabbi's injury isn't too bad. As someone else on here rightly pointed out, we beat them comfortably at their ground without him. That means we'll probably see J-Rod at some point in the game, maybe even Ollomollla. Getting toward last chance saloon for poor Jay. As soon as I saw Yoshida involved with Japan on Tuesday, I knew there was little chance of him playing.

Sounds like a fair few of our players should be looking at this as a huge opportunity to show themselves off.

A decent pre-match press conference for a change. Most questions about our players rather than what the opposition manager had for breakfast :)

Now I'm going to be spending the whole day what future failed Arsenal manager Eddie Howe does eat for breakfast. He seems like a Frosty's kinda guy to me.

My money would be on Seager making the bench (if we're going to include a striker from the U23s). IIRC, Seager was next in the promotion pecking order, ahead of Olomola, before his long term injury last season.

I heard we were going to get Teletext on the Isle of Wight soon, perhaps I will be able to keep up with the Echo reports then ;)

[Note as I don't live on the Island and haven't done for over 40 years the cracking joke was a bit wasted, and coming from Shroppie in Shropshire  ]

Yes, I think his movement and anticipation is better although Olomola is certainly physically stronger. Will Seager go out on loan again: his curtailed spell certainly started well?

Hope the weather is OK! My daughter is currently on the Gold Coast and it was in lock down last night after Cyclone Debbie passed through further north. She sent us some awesome video of the torrential rain and gale force winds!

In any case I hope you all have a great time and enjoy yourselves!!

I know this isn't weather web, in China few years back just got missed by a Typhoon reading China Today the next morning, Taiwan had copped it and had 1.15 Meters of rain dumped on it! I asked a local if this was a typo "No" came the reply: imagine the carnage here.

Sorry for the digression............ Carry on

............ Hang on just remembered a SMS fact to bring it back on stream. When the stadium was built it was claimed the pumps under the pitch could handle 8" of rain in an hour!! Unfortunately as we found out the drains taking water away from SMS can't handle anywhere near that.

right, interlude over......... Is it Saturday yet??!!!

Anyone else getting the nagging feeling that this could be another one of those "only out for 2 - 3 weeks" cases that ends up being "out of months"...?

6 weeks for a groin pull without any treatment, so I'm going for a month from when he did it. Back in time for Chelsea away.

Surprised this still hasn't sold out, first home game in 8 weeks against a team of local interest who have sold out the 3300 away end so it's not even like we've had to shift extra tickets. About 55 decent seats in block 4 put on sale earlier if anyone's still looking for a seat near Itchen centre. First game since the cup final I thought this would sell out quickly.

5.30 kick off should be a boozy one , will help the atmosphere a bit.

I think we'll struggle to score, frustrating 1-1 draw my prediction

Our season has petered out with injuries and having nothing left to really to play for. I'm having trouble getting excited about the rest of the season (probably be fine once I actually get to the game) but basically this season was defined by the cup final the rest of the season post cup final is a bit meh. I'll go because I have an ST but if I didn't I probably wouldn't be breaking my neck to get tickets.

Because Sky didn't listen to the way Puel worded it.

Puel : "We will see if he comes back before the end of the season"

SSN BREAKING NEWS: van Dijk out for rest of season

I got a notification on my phone saying VVD was out for the season but saw it reported differently elsewhere. Can anyone clarify precisely what Puel said?

I don't think our season is over yet - we do need to get to 40 points with some difficult games in the run in and our 2 best players out injured. Matches to target points are Bournemouth, Palace, Hull, Middlesbrough, and on current form Arsenal :)
