trousers Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 Strong squad... https://southamptonfc.com/news/2017-03-06/southampton-under-23s-chelsea-premier-league-2-squad • Harry Lewis • Mouez Hassen • Ollie Cook • Alfie Jones • Martín Cáceres • Yan Valery • Sam McQueen • Harrison Reed • Thomas O’Connor • Pierre-Emile Højbjerg • Josh Sims • Tyreke Johnson • Jake Hesketh • Sofiane Boufal • Ryan Seager • Jay Rodriguez
VectisSaint Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 Is it safe to assume that Gardos is injured again? Not in any first team squads and not in u23s when they are trying to give players game time.
Pass the Dutchie Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 It'd be great to have a stream of this one.
John Boy Saint Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 Interesting that Boufal and Højbjerg genuinely qualify for this by age, you forget that they are that young. Bit like Redmond only being 23 yet seems to have been around for years.
John Boy Saint Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 It'd be great to have a stream of this one. Free to get in plus a live stream according to the linked article.
Charlie Wayman Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 Free entry is a very good price indeed to see tomorrow's stars in action. Big crowd up there tonight please to get behind Carceras.
saintwbu Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 Some very good players in that squad, wish I could go myself!
Wimborne_saint Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 Saints U23 XI: Hassen, Valery, Caceres, Jones, Mcqueen, Reed, Sims, Hojbjerg, Hesketh, Boufal, Rodriguez - Very strong!
The Cat Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 Hassan Valery Caceres Jones McQueen Reed Sims Hojbjerg Boufal Rodriguez Hesketh Strong line up
Lighthouse Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 To think we put out a much weaker team for a first team game against Arsenal....
philelec Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 Does anyone know if there will be a stream? It's on at 2pm here and I'll go home to watch it if there is.
richardc Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 https://southamptonfc.com/news/2017-03-06/premier-league-two-live-southampton-chelsea live stream
vince Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 Does anyone know if there will be a stream? It's on at 2pm here and I'll go home to watch it if there is. I believe it's being streamed via the official site tonight.
Wimborne_saint Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 Chelsea team: Collins, Sterling, Nartey, T.Chalobah, Grant, Scott, Kane, Maddox, Ugbo, Mount, St Clair Can't say I've heard of any of them, on paper we should walk this..
Disco Stu Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 You know you're a MASSIVE club when you're playing f***ing Caceres in the reserves!
JRM Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 We lost to Chelsea U23s earlier in the season, have a look at the line up they put out that night possibly the strongest ever at this level and only beat us 3-2. We can't win this league so tonight is a chance for a few of those names to get a run out , work on fitness and remind Puel what they can do. I can't make it down there but for those who can what a great chance to watch a game live for free.
Fatboy40 Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 Surprised there is not a few more there I'd be there with my son but he came from school feeling ill, gutted
Manuel Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 A few misplaced passes, makes you appreciate how accurate the first team are.
Wimborne_saint Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 A few misplaced passes, makes you appreciate how accurate the first team are. Most of the misplaced passes I've seen have come from Boufal so far..
SuperSAINT Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 Boufal not impressing me... Boufal doesn't strike me as a player for a reserve game...
Dusic Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 Boufal not impressing me... He probably isn't impressed with playing for the U23s or at least finds it hard to morivate himself for it. Frustrsting season for him with never having a run of games, but next season we will see the best of him as he is class.
harvey Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 That Chalobah fellow nearly had a night to remember then!
Toadhall Saint Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 Caceres looking very composed on the ball I thought the same plus makes space to receive the ball but that should be expected for an international quality CB I suppose
CityRanger Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 Chelsea team: Collins, Sterling, Nartey, T.Chalobah, Grant, Scott, Kane, Maddox, Ugbo, Mount, St Clair Can't say I've heard of any of them, on paper we should walk this.. Brad Collins, the Chelsea keeper tonight, went to Bitterne Park.
charliemiller Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 Jones plays like fonte ....very composed , he is what 18 ....great prospect
trousers Posted 6 March, 2017 Author Posted 6 March, 2017 Impressed with Caceres. Boufal disappointing though.
Disco Stu Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 Impressed with Caceres. Boufal disappointing though. Boufal is trying a trick at every opportunity. Perhaps some complacency creeping in?
Chris27687 Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 Boufal really isn't taking this very seriously - I hope. Given it away a lot when he was playing as the 10.
doddisalegend Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 https://southamptonfc.com/news/2017-03-06/premier-league-two-live-southampton-chelsea live stream that was confusing clicked and found myself watching Watford v Saints guess its half time...
IOWSaintDaz Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 WTF is Boufal doing?? playing rubbish and getting himself booked in an U23 game, not the way to get yourself into the starting line up Caceres however looks a useful player looks composed and can pass out from the back well
IOWSaintDaz Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 Boufal now been hauled off and straight down the tunnel not a happy chap
doddisalegend Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 wow Jrod and Hoj looking bad in an under 23s game
SuperSAINT Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 wow Jrod and Hoj looking bad in an under 23s game Let's get Seager on to score the winner.
doddisalegend Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 Jay Rod any good or pretty anonymous? well he's been offside....
VectisSaint Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 Caceres has grown into this game, he is apparently now 6' 3".
trousers Posted 6 March, 2017 Author Posted 6 March, 2017 Caceres taking the mick. Showing his class tonight. Gotta start vs Spurs IMO
doddisalegend Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 Hoj really struggles with the passing to team mate part of the game...
Pamplemousse Posted 6 March, 2017 Posted 6 March, 2017 Caceres looks like a class outfit. He and Yoshida will I think form an effective defensive partnership, until VVD comes back.
