Norm Posted 4 March, 2017 Posted 4 March, 2017 http://thesefootballtimes.co/2016/03/14/how-marian-pahars-became-a-cult-hero-at-southampton/ Please excuse me if already posted.
Pugwash Posted 4 March, 2017 Posted 4 March, 2017 Good article. Bit old, but I'd not seen it before, so thanks for posting.
Trumush Posted 4 March, 2017 Posted 4 March, 2017 I was at that reserve game when he scored the hattrick, was also at the end of season Everton game when his goals ensured survival and also at the derby when he scored against the skates. Will always love Marian.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 4 March, 2017 Posted 4 March, 2017 Never quite understood the criticism he received towards the end of his career at saints because of his injuries. I remember people slagging him off on his final lap of honour, during which he was very emotional. He had a lot of bad luck but will always be a legend, especially for that goal against the skates.
Singapore Saint Posted 5 March, 2017 Posted 5 March, 2017 I will always remember him nutmegging Jaap Stam and the stooped header goal (for a short player).
simondo Posted 5 March, 2017 Posted 5 March, 2017 I can see that flying header in my minds eye like it was yesterday... I'd love him back at the club in some capacity...
LatvianTolix Posted 17 April, 2017 Posted 17 April, 2017 For those not informed yet, Pahars has resigned as the Head-coach of Latvia NT earlier this month. Heard a rumour he is off to England for the job interview next week with unknown English club from League 1 or 2. Someone heard anything?

Heard a rumour he is off to England for the job interview next week with unknown English club from League 1 or 2. Someone heard anything? doesn't surprise me; mentioned last year that he doesn't like the fact his job most of the time was behind a desk, he wanted to be coaching every day. Would've thought Russia may have been the next step like Aleksandrs Starkovs but England makes sense with his very good English.

Perhaps Pompey will be looking to upgrade their manager when they go up to Division 3 next season....
Lets B Avenue Posted 17 April, 2017 Posted 17 April, 2017 Perhaps Pompey will be looking to upgrade their manager when they go up to Division 3 next season.... He speaks better English than the current idiot.
Lighthouse Posted 17 April, 2017 Posted 17 April, 2017 Perhaps he's going to join Monks and Beatts at Leeds. I'd have him here just to teach our current lot about movement and shooting, TBH.
LatvianTolix Posted 17 April, 2017 Posted 17 April, 2017 Hopefully will hear some news later this week or next week. Will keep u updated.
CB Fry Posted 17 April, 2017 Posted 17 April, 2017 If thats the case it is likely to be something connected with his old gaffer Gary Johnson, so probably a job in the West Country, or maybe GJ is jacking it in and he's taking over at Cheltenham Town.
CB Fry Posted 18 April, 2017 Posted 18 April, 2017 Swindon? Saints link. What is the Saints link to Swindon?
darren2 Posted 18 April, 2017 Posted 18 April, 2017 It wont be Birmingham as Saggy face has just gone there. Saw it on Twitcher..... Does anyone know the odds on them being in Admin in 3 years?
