Never quite understood the criticism he received towards the end of his career at saints because of his injuries. I remember people slagging him off on his final lap of honour, during which he was very emotional. He had a lot of bad luck but will always be a legend, especially for that goal against the skates.

For those not informed yet, Pahars has resigned as the Head-coach of Latvia NT earlier this month. Heard a rumour he is off to England for the job interview next week with unknown English club from League 1 or 2. Someone heard anything?

doesn't surprise me; mentioned last year that he doesn't like the fact his job most of the time was behind a desk, he wanted to be coaching every day. Would've thought Russia may have been the next step like Aleksandrs Starkovs but England makes sense with his very good English.

Perhaps Pompey will be looking to upgrade their manager when they go up to Division 3 next season....
