Christopher Stevens, of Ingle Glen, Dibden Purlieu, was on his way to see Saints take on West Brom at The Hawthorns stadium, when the violent broke out on a Birmingham train.

Can anyone confirm who the violent were and where they broke out of?

Ffs Echo, this is basic grammar.

Hope he never sees another Saints game live - that isnt what supporting your club is about, its the opposite.

Simply unacceptable. More so when it's someone in their 50's.Can only assume he has no kids, as mine would certinly disown me for a lot less!

Also as I got ambushed twice quite seriously in the 80's for just innocently walking to the Dell (blacked out for months randomly after one attack, including driving once), there is no excuse. Coward - him and his like, never up for a fair fight.

A moments rage (for whatever reason) and he's locked up. Hope he's regretting that choice.

Just shows why it's always better to walk away.

"Stevens, who had previously been banned from games for football-related violence and had come off a banning order three months earlier, denied the offence, saying he acted in self-defence."

Seems he's had one or two "moments"

Yet I bet if he'd have had two incidents in a pub on a Friday night he'd have two charges of affray or assault and still have his freedom.

Its disgraceful how football fans are treated.

Sad to think whilst we are all watching Countryfile he's being bummed senseless in a bunk bed! Broken Britain!

Sad to think you are watching Countryfile.
