St Landrew Posted 11 January, 2009 Share Posted 11 January, 2009 Not that I'm incredibly interested, just bored trying to keep the flu at bay. But Howard Webb always seems to be in charge of games at OT. Is there a little thing going between Manure and the FA..?

benjii Posted 11 January, 2009 Share Posted 11 January, 2009 Rooney should have been booked twice but hasn't been booked once. Refs need to get strict with him or the little thug will continue to be a liability for England in tournaments.
stevegrant Posted 11 January, 2009 Share Posted 11 January, 2009 Webb gets all the "big 4" games these days. He's generally got most decisions right today, with the exception of tolerating Wayne Rooney's tirades of abuse.

Kaiser Soze Posted 11 January, 2009 Share Posted 11 January, 2009 You don't need a lip reader to work out Rooney said "Fu(k off Ref!"....anyone else would have probably got their marching orders, Rooney swaggered off without even a warning... It gets right on my nerves. Refs moan about a lack of respect etc. but then bottle it. Every time he (or anyone else) does that he should get a yellow or red card. He would stop pretty soon or become a useless footballer. I play hockey. If I swore at a ref like that I'd spend 5 to 10 minutes in the sin-bin. No question. If I did it again I'd get a red card. Hello Rupert!! :yawinkle: You are right though, I only wish refs would yellow card the ManUre (and other top clubs) players every time they said anything out of order to them. Nellie Posted 12 January, 2009 Share Posted 12 January, 2009 It gets right on my nerves. Refs moan about a lack of respect etc. but then bottle it. Every time he (or anyone else) does that he should get a yellow or red card. He would stop pretty soon or become a useless footballer. This really frustrates me. In local football if any of the players swear directly at the ref, you can rest assured that they'll be off as quickly as the red card can be produced (you can pretty much commit GBH on the pitch and that won't, but that's a different matter). However, despite it being one of the laws, Rooney seems to get away with swearing directly at officials without receiving the obligatory red card. It's not open to interpretation, he should be sent off. He also gets away with showing open dissent all the way through games. It's very difficult trying to explain to children playing the game that they shouldn't behave like this, when they all see it happen week after week in the Premier League. Respect the Ref, my arse. The referees need to start clamping down on it in the top leagues, or it won't ever filter down.

No he's Sir Cliff... Or is that over a cliff? No, that's the Italian Job. What was the question again? Oh yes, a shocker, awful, dreadful, and I didn't even watch it. St Landrew Posted 21 February, 2009 Author Share Posted 21 February, 2009 Watching on MOTD and he's refereeing again at OT. Surely that shouldn't be allowed. However unbiased Webb is meant to be, he's going to get to know the players better at OT than other teams. He's just let ManU off a penalty, when it was one. With regards to Ronaldo kicking out, I have seen him do that at least 3 or 4 times during games this season and he should have gone. Total cheat.
