spyinthesky Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Not too much contentious to deal with but thought he was excellent today
Disco Stu Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Sunderland fans might disagree. Couple of fouls not given to them I noticed but yeah he did well on the whole. Kept the game flowing. Didn't notice him for the most part which is always a good sign.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Not too much contentious to deal with but thought he was excellent today Yep said so in match thread
badgerx16 Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 The only card was the one he was duty bound to show, Khazri's hand ball. Overall much better than the 'look at me, I'm in charge' sort of display you get from some of the more senior refs, such as Prattenberg..
ScepticalStan Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 I wouldn't go overboard on the ref being 'good' necessarily - he gave us everything in fairness.
5string Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Sunderland might feel hard done by; he gave us more of the benefit of the doubt. He kept his card in his pocket, which is good to see, though there wasn't much fire to cause booking opportunities. Just the handball. Overall, pretty decent I'd say.
Heisenberg Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Win - ref excellent Draw - ref meh Lose - ref ****
Saint Albert Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 The Sunderland supporters were all over the ref in the second half, but we won so he must have been good.
Toadhall Saint Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Win - ref excellent Draw - ref meh Lose - ref **** I think this is the first time I've ever agreed with you 100%
Bad Wolf Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 He was awful but for once, he was awful in our favour. The referee gave us absolutely everything today and if I was a Sunderland fan, I'd be livid...But I'm not, so I'm delighted Nice to be on the right end of one of those refs for a change.
saintadjg Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 Sunderland players were falling over at the slightest contact. Looking at the ref as they were going down. If they'd been less theatrical they may have had more decisions go their way.
Kingsland Codger Posted 11 February, 2017 Posted 11 February, 2017 His name? Paul Tierney, who was also in charge a couple of weeks ago at Burnley.
